  4. i thought this was great my engine is totally screwed ala dead oil pump broken injectors and such im trying to find a new l28e anyways. So today i was working on fixing my damn turn signals cleaned my hazard switch switched flashers cleaned turn stalk etc. So after a halfhour of trying to fix it i was like okay this is gay. I decided to take the car for a little drive. Take in mind this engine also has fucked up valves and the cam is messed up. So started it up eased it out of the driveway. decided to take it easy at first. did some turns rather fast and was feeling good. So i was thinking i wonder if i can spin the tires. so drove back near my house full throttled got it to about 5000 rpm and let out the clutch to lay down a nice skidmark infront of the road. drove around a bit put er in first took some really sharp turns and the car took them like a dream. after about five minutes the car started acting a tad weird the rpms wouldnt go past 1000 and it kept stalling. so pulled over gve it a few seconds and started it up to have it run fine. all in all once i find a new l28e i can tell why people love this car so much

  6. Yeah i really doubt the 280z primes. My fuel pump didnt work when i bought it. When i replaced it i still never heard a prime but it still runs so what the hell.
  7. IS the engine running I am EXTREMELY interested in the l28e engine. Please pm me details becuase i really need this engine. Also i want the 5 speed. I am willing to pay you for the engine. But itd be nice to get it for free since i have to drive around 140 miles to get there.
  8. At only a small price of $596 you to can have an extra 27 horsepower. Hmm maybe i should buy like four and chain them so i can get more horsepower.
  9. Its easiest todo this with two people. Stop by kragens by a brake bleeder kit. Attach the hose the the end of the bleeder valve. Push the clutch down 3 times and then hold it while your holding turn the bleeder valve open and give it a second till the liquid stops flowing. chechk your clutch fluid and keep topping it off. do this entire proccess 3-4 times and you should be good

  11. probally stalk there known for going bad. Edit: reread that actually i have a 280z the wiring is quite differnet fromm what im reading when you mess with the turn signal switch the lights go on? Although its probally the stalk get a chilton book follow the wiring diagram and check for bad grounds dead wires etc etc. Last test is to manually connect the turn singal wires. If there good then its the stalk
  12. Love the new video just absoltely love it. Mull really wish i had that kinda money. Looks like it cost you alot to get all that rust work done. Take in mind my z has a totally shot engine that needs replacing. Where or where can my l28e be heh. Would be fantastic if someone would be a champ and give me an old l28e from a 350 swap or something. Anyways back on topic. I see you are removing the side marker lights. I personally like them and will be keeping them. I plan to wire mine to where they will blink aswell as the back ones while turning. Also take in mind my turn signals are broken. Your z will probally be the closest thing to a new z as we can get. To bad your not doing restoration. besides the rb what else do you plan on having. Are you going to go with a custom light harness lights interior etc etc. While your at it do a 2+2 mod lol I also see you removed the gas cap holder thingy im guessing new gas tank

  17. Anyways so i have a l28e Last owner said the oil pump was broke. Later i got the engine to turn over and eventually fire up. Many people on the forums said that my oil pump was probally good. So i drove it around a little and such eventualy the engine started sqeaking. Once again i kinda got the inclination that my belts where loose. Tightened them noise was still there. So i opened my valve cover. To find the cams had metal flakes all over them. Turns out there was no oil at all and thats what caused my cams to sqeak. My engine is probally toast now. What should i do? complete rebuild? get one from a junkyard help me out here. Btw if anyone has an extra l28e and lives in california and would be willing to part with it for a fellow z enthusaists that would be great.
  18. Heh 3 years didnt realise it was that far back. But I was looking at this considering A. My l28e is probally gone b. Theres a junkayrd that has 9 or 10 rx7 c. I can laught at people who dont have a rotary

  20. so far the fastest i have gone is around 30 mph Take in mind two cylinders arent working and my valves are probally destroyed. Yeah i have alot of work todo but when i get it near that speed detonation is terrible and it bucks all over the place.
  21. Heh Do the penny trick take a penny and put it in the tread if you can see mr washingtons neck its time for a change. Although youd probally be better off buying a tread gauge for like 5 bucks
  22. Okay I already have a oil pump im installing that sometime this week Now moving on i plan on flushing my brake system but i have a problem Front brake fluid has solidified. What should i use to remove it? and do you think it has solidified throught the entire front system. Btw back fluid looks fine.
