  2. What is the advantage to a carbed LS2 ? Cheaper ? Easier ?
  3. Does that LS1 come with the 4L60E transmission? The overdrive would help with the mileage a good deal.
  4. Very nice bodykit! The front end looks very much like a G-nose, what kit is it?
  5. The tuned port injection / TPI setups are designed for low end torque, and aftermarket runners aren't exactly cheap. http://www.thirdgen.org/ is a Camaro / Firebird site with some pretty good info on how to get more out of a TPI setup.

  7. Well, I'm waay up in the sticks, outside Redding, which itself is ~3 hours north of Sac. No smog ever, and we have to abide by the laws . . . . grrr.

  11. They mentioned using a Supra transmission, is that a common thing to do? World Class T5's are expensive as sin it seems, and T56s command steep prices.
  12. A turbo KA24 would give more torque than the SR20DET, and would probably be cheaper to do.
  13. How often are 4x4 setups used for street / road course duty? I imagine the weight distribution would be pushed forward, but traction issues could be lessend, helping with the corners.
  14. How much did it take to get the LT1 to run, a Megasquirt or the like?
  15. I'm not claiming to be an expert, but the LT1 and T56 should pretty much net you a profit.
  16. How much more difficult is a swap into a Z31 than a S30? The engine mounts and transmission crossmember are custom, but how much more work does it take? I ask as there are a good deal more Z31's that are in non-rusted condition up where I am.
  17. Wow, it is a world of nickle and dime'ing to death. Need to look for a complete Z with a blown headgasket and / or transmission, looks like the only way I'd be able to afford it. Thanks, am waiting for the JTR book!
  18. What all goes into the cost? I've thought of a few things that I'd missed the first time. -Suspension -Tires What else causes the price to get so high? I'd much rather have a running, but ruff, 350/thm350 with a bad ride rather than great parts . . . 3K I can do, 8K, is well, waay more than I can afford at the moment.

  20. I'm trying to figure out what all goes into a SBC swap into a '70-'75 Z [smog exempt in here in CA]. The Z JTR kit Complete Engine + tranny What else is there? I've used the search function like crazy but have not found an answer. Chevy small blocks and turbo 350/400s are pretty cheap up where I am, having something on the road is alot better than not, so I am willing to go the most basic way. Besides what I've listed, what else is there that I would need to buy? How much would it cost to have the engine mounts welded in, ballpark figure? Thanks for any help!
