  1. my dad and I have used them for both british parts, and datsun parts. no complaints here.
  2. yes, im setting up to run the ssautochrome ebay special top mount manifold. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=112664 the strut tower is more of an issue than the bonnett.
  3. You guys make me want to build a festiva too... im stuck with the fiesta for now.
  4. i would love to have a L28et in a wagon.... lowered on some 16's.... it would be neat
  5. Did the other driver cause an accident, or get in caught or anything? I had similar damage to my car. Im fixing it, but if it would have been easier to get a diff shell. I dig your wheels by the way.
  6. Ill keep my eyes out at the junkyard. After I find another for my car.
  7. Its rat stylez yo..... sorry vortex banter.... here is a friend of a friends car..... http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2770304
  8. The beetle ones are a bit larger, im sure they would work ok though. Bringing this thread back from the dead. Maybe I will find another one in 3 more months. The chrome isnt perfect, but it will be acceptable for my car. Again I dont have a GTO kit, but I love the way those latches look on the car.
  9. I only paid $250 for my rick wong mounts IIRC. Im thinking of selling them though.
  10. Other than my SSAC manifold not actually fitting the car, its constructed well. It was cheaper to buy, than it would have to buy materials, and build one myself. I will prob use one of thier intercoolers too, maybe.
  11. Interesting, I guess I know why my downpipe didnt fit after a few manifolds got swapped. I had no idea there are two different styles.
  12. Ive been thinking of something similar, and maybe motorized, myself. I just had a halfway decent idea. Since so many people are making 'requests' maybe you guys should set up a pole of what 'could' get tested? I personally want to see the kaminari 3 port tested, with the foglight holes covered, but thats because its what im going to run... Good job hybrid Z on raising the funds!!
  13. Got to see that car in person a few years ago at 'dubwars' in california. Pretty freakin sweet. Attention to detail is amazing, sound is amazing!
  14. My R&D stage project is using Mistubishi starion rear brakes. They are vented and a decent diameter (dont have the number handy sorry). The calipers have a built in mechanical Ebrake with a simple cable pull. They should work with some simple bracketry. The only thing I havent looked into on these is the availabilty of brake pads. I mean you can go to the FLAPS and get whatever, but I dont know if there are decent aftermarket pads. The other 'junkyard' setup I was looking at is the mk3 supra. They are large diameter, also vented. Downside being an internal 'drum' style ebrake. This would also be the downfall of using Z32 brakes as well. As you said, dropping the cash at MM or AZ-Zcar is an option too.
  15. I run Bosch H4's. Those, Hella, or Cibie will be better than any ebay headlamp replacement.
  16. If you search for 'diesel' you should find a recent discussion with a link to a diesel maxima forum. They are kinda neat. The forum im thinking of has a classifieds. HTH
  17. Yes, with a bit more detail.... Ive discussed this before. You remove the 12mm nut off your stock TB, pull off the linkage (its the part with the ball on it) Now take the 240sx throttle body, hopefully you got one off a single cam (KA24E) and without cruise control. Remove 12mm nut, remover outter spring, without removing inner spring (you will have to cut a plastic spacer/flange inbetween the springs) Install old linkage pointing in the same direction. install 12mm nut. Done, wasnt that easy? If you have the throttle body from a KA24DE (twin cam) you will need to do some dremel work to your linkage, its no big deal, just a bit of a hassle. You can tell if you have the KA24DE throttle body, the nut on the shaft is 14mm rather than 12mm. If you have a cruise control throttle body, you will need a 8mm x 1 die nut to cut threads. Basically follow the normal steps, but you need to thread the shaft farther down. You will also have to cut part of the shaft off AFTER threading it. Also there is a small peg that needs to be cut down. No big deal.
  18. There was a four lug, five lug that mounts on the back of the hub (like a S30) and 5 lug with a normal style rotor that slides over the face. Sorry I dont know the year split, though the 5 lug hubs I have came off an early car with the rear mounted rotors. I think it was a 85 or 85 I pulled them off of.
  19. Its been pretty unreal up here in snohomish county. My Cortina with all seasons has been running around well. I got stuck that 405 nightmare on monday night, just got off the freeway and went to have dinner rather than sit there for three hours to go 2 miles.
  20. I checked http://www.car-part.com for yards that had the entire hatch assembly. I didnt call any of them, but a few showed up. Im also sorta on the hunt for a set. All the local pick-n-pulls seem to only have wagons show up!!
  21. This what I run at work. I would call it a machine more than a tool, but its still neat. Here is my newest purchase. the only bad part about buying a cart or box is having to buy things to fill it up!
