  1. On back order with no ETA on replenishment. YES! AWESOME! Just let me know when you know and how much you want including shipping. Thanks, Paul
  2. Major bummer. Hopefully its savable.

  3. lol, I wasnt driving. guy in front of him, spun it and parked it in the corner and he swerved and "didn't see it" how useless is a cage, without support between the frame?

  4. Coolio. Lash pads and rockers.. lash pads and rockers.. I need me more lash pads and rockers..
  5. Not the OE lash pads that come with stock cams right? If so, I've got cash!
  6. Please read our rules before you click accept. This belongs in the "Parts Wanted" section of the forum and we absolutely positively do NOT allow IM style text shortcuts!
  7. DOH! You are supposed to drive "between" the cones, avoiding any and all obstacles and/or immovable objects! Hit a concrete wall at an Autocross?!?! Time to change out the nut behind the wheel! :lmao:

  8. Well even at an auto-x we managed to stuff the car into a concrete wall! We think, we bent the frame, but we gotta check.

  9. Exactly what portion of the door jamb area and how much of it? (pics would be ideal). I am scrapping a couple of my parts cars this weekend, one just happens to be a '77. If what I have will work for you, its yours free, but you have to make the drive over the mountain to Sandy to pick it up.
  10. I was in direct contact with Sikky during my LSx Z-32 mock up phase, sharing ALL of my info, dimensions, mock up measurements etc. I was truly hoping between my efforts and theirs we were going to find that magic bullet to able to install an LSx without cutting up the car or dropping the rack more than 3/4" thus altering the front suspension which would be determent to the cars handling, i.e. stepping backwards for a "sports car!". That was back in January and February of this year! If I were to speculate here, based on their quote of the Z-32 still in R&D as of Sept on the LS1 tech forum, my guess is they are still trying to find that magic bullet to fit the LSx in easy enough for “kit” production. Based on their other works, once they are able to make it happen, (keeping my glass half full here), they should be able to sell MANY kits and it will make for wonderful sports car ridding the car of its worst enemy, the oh to difficult to access and maintain, heavy, VG30DE! For those curious, here are the results with tons of pictures of my efforts for this conversion; http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=144469 I since sold that nice Z-32 example, bought a ’97 BMW M-3 and currently installing the LSx in that, (the BMW LSx conversion is a walk in the park in comparison to the Z-32 LSx conversion, and the M3 is a more capable car, seats 5 and is comparably priced used!)
  11. My first thought was the same! Looks like The new Mustang gave birth to a Pontiac! For those that can't seem to figure which team to bat for, or when you just need to prove that you are king of the trailer court, The Ford Fire-chicken! :lmao: Mullet hat optional.
  12. Bwahahahaha... :lmao: Have a good night. :)

  13. Lovely Fall evening in the Pacific Northwest, ground fog, etc… Then, all of sudden, large hail began falling.. 1/4”-3/8” diameter fell for over 3 minutes straight with one nice lighting strike and immediate thunder! Spectacular! My daughters talk me into going out to take pics of this hail as it is still coming down and a nice Maroon Mitsu Eclipse drives by and goes straight in the ditch across the road! Poor Evan, (the gentleman that missed the corner trying to slow sown with a down shift vs using his brakes on his way home via the back roads...), we let him borrow one of our Oregon Beavers umbrella’s while he made his phone calls to the sheriff, tow truck, insurance, significant other, etc… All pics taken from front porch and yard, Nikon D70s, 18x70 kit lens. Our pasture after the storm; Neighbors pasture after the storm; Hail! Mere seconds later… OUCH!
  14. Wow, that's really asking for it... Nice sig, ckolander. :lmao:
  15. Teensy weensy update. Drilled and tapped one hole in the 5.3L block for the F-body alternator mount. After receiving this F-body alt mount from one of our HybridZ members, (Thank you benitoz) it became immediately clear the truck blocks were not manufactured for the car accy drives. 2 of the 4 F-body/Vette mounting bosses missing on the passenger side of the block. A quick search revealed that most just drill and tap the one boss that GM graciously cast in the iron truck blocks and just delete the 4th bolt that GM completely ignored on the truck blocks. After setting up mine, using a machinists transfer punch then drilling and tapping that boss for 10mm x 1.5 mm, that missing 4th bolt boss looks like it is good idea, but with three 10mm x 1.5mm bolts mounting the alternator already, Ron and I both agree that 4th bolt is probably more for the NVH requirements, making the entire engine and accy package as one mass vs 10-15 individual masses all ringing and vibrating at their own frequency. The Datsun Z car Alternator is mounted with far less attachment and works fine, as such I’m not going to lose any sleep over this.
  16. 1) Lets start with these lash pad sizes, 12 of each .200” and .220”. Nissan part number 99996-M1200 and 99996-M1220. Can you get them?... and by when? 2) Just a reminder of the rules that clicked accept to, IM style text short cuts are NOT allowed on this forum.
  17. That looks a bit snug, but not really that bad. Ideally you want it to spin freely with 2 fingers and if this is a cylinder head rebuild for a paying customer, you would want that. Things to keep in mind when dealing with L-series cam towers; 1) Do not mix them up with other towers fomr other heads. 2) Do not mix up their placement on the head. i.e. stamp them before you remove them and install them back in that same exact location! They were machined in that order and need to remain in that order. YOu can even use them on different heads, so long as the top of the head is flat and the towers are in that order. 3) When the cam towers were machined at the factory, they were on a truly flat surface. As such, the top of the head needs to be truly flat. If the head was overheated/warped, the top of the head that the cam towers bolt down to will also need to be surfaced as it will be warped just as the bottom surface, therefore putting an arch in the cam line where straight cam shaft wants to spin. If the top is not surfaced as well, the cam line wont be straight and the cam will be tight in the towers. If this is your own car, one that you will tear back into in less then 100,000, I would not hesitate to run it as is. It is snug, but but spins in one hand. That amount of tightness will not push through the oil wedge developed on running engine with adequate oil supply to the head, (the timing chain places FAR more pressure on the bottom of the front cam tower and you’ll notice little to no wear in that region). Hope that helps, Paul
  18. turns out the brass thing that punched a hole through the water jacket in the cylinder head, was a throttle blade screw, also turns out the heads where decked 40 over!

  19. Please take the time to “read” our rules and guildines. #12 applies here. Those gents that replied were directly involved in Z-force group buys and private dealings, i.e. been in your shoes, but even deeper! They are not being forum elitist, some are still pretty upset over the Z-force situation, not necessarily your post.
  20. That design allows the installer to "clock" the bolts in a position that is easiest to access in the vehicle. The exhaust shop mating up your exhaust to the headers will build the header pipe similarly with a flat flange and a floating 3 bolt flange ring and sandwich a gasket similar to what is pictured below in between the flat flanges. 21. Not much of an update. Customer projects taking priority. Finished and shipped one of our custom L-6 cylinder heads, on its way to France, received another complete road race engine for a head freshen up with a new valve train, maybe a little valve unshrouding and 5 angle seat work that needs to ship back by the end of the year, and my fathers Turbo Charged SBC 350 short block I need to assemble in the next couple of weeks! As for the M3 LSx project, been doing some research and actual fitment of alternative brake options to free up more engine bay space, details of which I am not at liberty to give out at this time, suffice to say, results thus far are quite promising. This conversion will incorporate a few changes that will help improve space constraints within the engine bay as well as lower the cost of the typical LSx E36 conversions. Stay tuned, updates are still coming, but may take few more months for specifics to be released. Built another custom LSx specific tool as well; http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=146686
  22. This link should help clarify HBZ's stance regarding this topic; http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=149299
