  1. Hi NISH, Nice job, where in Pa are ya? I'd like to see them in person. I'm looking for ideas for my roadster.
  2. Here's a couple of links that might interest you. http://www.moparts.com/Tech/Archive/race/6.html http://community-2.webtv.net/PAGEBUILDERPICS/CRANKCASEEVACUATION/ sometimes this link won't work try again http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=1783&prmenbr=361 hope these help. 3. Havn't heard anyone talk about it, but this worked with open exhaust. If you went thru the muffler there'd be back pressure. This was old school we used in the 70's.
  4. Hi Glenn, It's been a while, I'm working on everyone elses car but my own. Just started on the Z roadster I've got, have a sbc or 500 cad for it. Just bought 280yz rear fenders off John Washington today for it. The GTO V-12 is next. In fact I just got my wire wheel adaptors for that car. How do those new cams work? Are they worth the change? Have you been to the drag strip with them? About that krown, How much does it cost a can? I thought about getting a case of it if it's any good. It sounds like a good idea, but..... is it?
  5. Anyone?? thought this would be a product that a lot of Z fans would have a big interest in.
  6. Thanks Innerware, but not quite the same thing. Krown is to be sprayed in the inner fenders, rockers, doors, ect, ect. It is a type of oil that creeps between metal parts that are spot welded, and crimped (door bottoms). It kind of jells over then. If it is scraped or scratched it will spread back over. kind of heal itself. It will stay and not drip out like reg. motor oil, and it doesn't have acids in it like some oil.
  7. Hi, do any of you gut up north know anything about Krown rust preventing products? I'm interested in the spray cans. Does it work, how much does it cost, and can someone mail some? I contacted krown and they won't deal direct. They told me to contact one of their dealers. Anyone know the price of a can? Thanks guys
  8. Hey thanks guys, I'll be using them a little more now. Door jambs and other tight places. It has been a long time racerX. Last time I talked to you, you were going to open your own shop. How did you make out? Thanks again! Stale
  9. To all the pro painters out there, what is your opinion on the 3M scuff pads? I'm old school, I've used 400 wet for paint jobs but a lot of people say to use the red scuff pads. Can they be used for a repaint? I'm doing a truck that has dents and a little rust repair, but the main paint is in nice shape as far as no orange peel or chips. With all the dings and dents on all panels I'm spraying the whole truck. (all ready wet sanded) and I just wondered about the scuff pads for the next job. Thanks for any info.
  10. Do a search on Google for Autoxray. They make different types for OBDI OBDII and that new one CAN that some car are using this year. Price is like always, ya get what you pay for.
  11. O.K. must be 1/2 inch on the dampner Pete's site said 1/2 inch between the fire wall and HEI, now if I only had the top of the block to the top of the firewall. By the way Pete, you once said you wish you had a simple way to have bolt thru mounts. Guess we'll skip the cross member spacer.
  12. VRJoe, do you have them installed now? How was the fit? Any mods made to get the in? I'm interested in a set.
  13. If I remember right RacerX had a post on this awhile back. But he wasn't into the vacuum forming.
  14. Can anyone give me the measurments? I've got steel ready to bend and weld.
  15. I've tried the search feature and have come to the conclusion I don't know what I'm doing. Maybe a post on how to use the search feature for those of us with one brain cell or less. Anyway what I was looking for is the location of a SBC using the JTR mounts. I going to make a mount that uses the newer style bolt thru mount, and would be easier to make than the JTR's. Need to know how much room there is between the dampener (7in) and the steering rack, how far the top of the block in the back is below the horizontal lip on the firewall. This is with the 3/4 offset to the right. Also how far is the firewall to the back of the block? Are these measurements with the spacers between the crossmember and the frame? I got a parts car that had a simple mount made for the SBC, the idea was great, the workmanship on the mounts was bad. They look like there was no offset and they were welded solid to the crossmember mounts. While I'm at it, what other block hugger headers fit without any hammer work? So far I see where the guys with the hooker headers are happy, the E-Bay cheapies need to much work. How about the guys with Sanders headers? By the way the Jag V12 is just on hold, lost storage space for the roadster so I'm getting it done and out of the way. Thanks for any info on where the small block sits.
  16. heck that swap has been done. Saw it on E-Bay in a Lamborghini kit car. I don't think it would work in a Z unless you don't mind the fan belt rubbing the back of your ear.( maybe your knee)
  17. I did a search on Google under Coates rotary(the people working on that), and a lot of other sites came out with a lot of info. Hope that helps. Stale
  18. 11 sec with the big Buick isn't that hard to reach. Save the $530.95 on the JTR motor mount kit, it won't work with the Buick. It isn't that hard to make simple chassis mounts that will use the cross bolt motor mounts. Have a crude set that came on a parts car that I'll try to get pictures of to give you an idea. They would work on all GM's with a little time, torch, welder, and the tape measure. Headers might be the biggest problem, don't know if anyone makes shortys for the Buick, the stockers might work. Course that $530 you saved buy making your own mounts will get the right stuff to change the steering shaft. I'll try to get pictures of those mounts, they are simple!!
  19. A good old fart hit an easy one with his first idea. I've seen many engine swaps where the guy hooks up the linkage from under the hood and hand operates it and stops there. Get some one to mash the gas from inside with the pedal. Look inside the carb and check to see if the plates are fully open. Just because you can open them from under the hood dosn't mean the complete linkage is working. Sorry, I meant A. G. Olphart. ( Warning: do not do this with engine running! Mike kZ )
  20. I'll bump the average up alittle I'm 53 and wishing I was 21. Hell my daughter is 23.(no stay away)
  21. Hi John, try this link to get Scotts Profile http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=3821
  22. Try this to see the weber carb setup, they make two for the SBC, the one has sidedraft carbs the other has downdraft carbs http://www.injector.net/images/weber/k350.jpg http://www.inglese.com/pix/IA1245H.jpg Check out the inglese.com web site.
  23. Yes, that's the same engine. He wants to get a 4 weber carb setup for his SBC. If I can find the site I'll post a picture, they look great. I've got six of them for my V12. Staledale
  24. Maybe a little shy but 250gto has pictures in users personal galleries of his fine looking GTO 250. Take a look guys, it's a nice one. I like the Ferrari shifter and gate.
