congrats stony, have to let me know how u like that t88 i have the same one i am rebuilding now for my rb30det project. I love the look of the 26 valve covers and valley cover the most, gonna keep an eye out for a set myself
-
k im not so shocked now i can speak Congrats to you and you team for building one mean beast. i am really happy to see an rb30det putting down those number and that much power. I was reading in many places that the rb26 can put down more power because the block of the 30 can't handle it. Im glad to see they were wrong and that i can attain my goals with the rb30det. Ive been telling all my non z buddies about your car and what it can do i cant wait to update them on your progress.

hey tim how u been? yea i saw those and i asked the seller if he could find me a turbine wheel for the td08 housing. Got the turbo from a buddy of mine, i could use it but the blades are damaged and i do not want to chance it with the new engine.

hey guys i did some searching and i couldn't find anyplace to get parts for my t88 turbo i just got. The turbine needs to be replaced along with a rebuild kit installed. I looked just about everywhere and i couldn't find anything even online. I am horrible at finding info on the net, i was wondering if any of you knew where i could get the turbine, i know they sell a rebuild kit on ebay but that is as much as i could find.

rb30 rods? found these on ebay whatcha think?
scottyMIz replied to scottyMIz's topic in Nissan RB Forum
thanks raff and stealth, if i get my check today or tomorrow i'll be making the trip this weekend. If it doesn't come til monday then it'll be next weekend if its ok with jitter. I have not heard of cars with weisco pistons having problems but i haven't been looking either. I know it depends on the build, tune and all that too. I did get my cam sensor taken apart and i am going to swap the wheel from a z31 into the z32 cas i am using on the rb25 now.I had problems with my tuning that is part of the reason one of the pistons crapped out along with my heavy foot. The haltech must have been confused, I had to adjust my timing advanced to make it retard. Then i had problems with the timing drifting off i had to mess with the trigger angle to make it run right after a while. I know the wheel worked in my l28 so it should work just fone with the z32 cas. I have a feeling i am going to have to upgrade my fuel lines and fuel pump or add another fuel pump and line like rob did. Im gettin all excited again..... i am gona get to work now that will bring me back down -

thanks for the info guys, i didn't know until now that stealth was building an rb30 so sofar that is three of us in the states? or is there more? Im sure he wont still have them when i get the cash for em but if he does i'll get a set and let everyone know, mean while i am gonna research more and see what i can find. Stealth what do you think of the weisco pistons? i was looking into some and a few friends said they didnt like them in other engines.(motorcycles and quads) Also am i gonna get bearings for the new block what bearings am i looking for? Will the stockers work fine for high hp or will i need to get an aftermarket racing bearing? Are there alot of parts that are swapable from the rb25-26 to the rb30? Im prolly asking newbie questions but up until a year ago i didn't even know there was such a beast as the rb30. -

thanks for the info raff, i should word that different. I want good stuff that is not too costly I definately dont want cheap stuff I didn't buy any since i have no money right now but since i got called back to work things will be sittin on my door step sooner than later I did talk with my buddy and ended up gettin the greddy t88 turbo,(needs a rebuild) custom header, and an external wastegate for 500 bucks. I told him i dont have the cash now but if he is willing to hang on to them for me i am gonna get them asap. So i am on my way and will be looking for more rb30 parts very soon. Raff i am sure i will be pestering you and rob a lot when it comes to build up time. Also i forgot to ask does that block i got from you need anything done to it? does it need to be bored out? nothin major now but when i order pistons i will need to know. -

i looked around and didn't see if you put a copy of the dyno sheet up. I'm curious what kind of torque that beast is puttin down

Viagra!!!! sorry i couldn't resist seen the title and bad things came to mind. I dunno about the others but i do know that if you are pushing serious power the t3 turbo from the 280zxt's wont handle the exhaust pressure and the thrust bearing will go. I had it happen to mine a few times til i could get enough cash to have the turbine housing boared out to fit a full t4 wheel.

I'm planning an rb20det in my sonoma for the spring. I drive my sonoma year round and the old 2.2l in it is slow. I've been talking with jitter about using the stock gauges, i want the truck to look as stock as possible I'm glad to see a post about the rb20's since most things on here is 25-26-30 related. I love my rb25 so it was a logical decision to drop a rb20 in my truck, I did measure the engine and it should fit without firewall modifications. I put an l28et in my mazda b2000 so i know i can fit an rb in a sonoma i'll be posting pics and everything when the project gets underway 100%

RB26DETT into 240Z Beginner Progress
scottyMIz replied to getoffmyinternet's topic in Nissan RB Forum
k i dont get on much but i browsed over the posts and saw talk about fuel pumps and clutches, I'll give my input for what it's worth. I have a gm multi port high perf pump from carquest in mine have had it in my z for about 5-6 years now and it has held great(90 bucks) with low 12 sec runs with both l28et and rb25det. Also i bought a cheapo xtd clutch from ebay for my rb25 "just to get me by" and so far it has taken everything i have thrown at it and more, smileing asking for more. I ran at the track (jitter was there) and i managed a low 12 sec run at 111mph with the bov popping out before the 1/8 mile mark. so it just goes to show that they can handle some power, im not sure how well it will hold in the super long run but with the way i break engines i have the winter season to fix it -
i have no idea what my rb gets for mileage but it doesn't matter no v8 can sound like an rb
