  1. ok i searched and searched and only found referances to a speed sensor that will fit the rb25 trans that is mechanical. I know it's from a 300zx but i don't know the year or trans model. Can someone help? I want to use the stock speedo in my 280z and was going to make my own from the left over parts on the electronic speed sensor. I would rather get one that fits than mess with making my own. thanks

  5. honestly i dont even know what they are worth and then there would be shipping them unless someone wants to drive up here and pick em up. I do like them but if they are as rare as everyone says i'd rather not cut them up. Plus i'd rather have the 280yz flares for it instead.I know someone on here has a set of 280yz flares for sale but he hasn't got back to me on shipping. suggestions on price?

LOL dang i didn't know so many zx guys wanted a kit like this one... i think, Here are the pics from showcars site that everyone said wasn't a good source for kits but it looks exactly like this kit. I don't even know how much the kit is worth, i have the fronts too. oh yea they are fiberglass and i might add very heavy duty glass at that.
  7. well guys i got a wide body kit for a zx for free and i was thinking of fabbing it onto my z. It looks like i am going to do some slight mods but it looks like it will work. I was just going to use the rears but i just might use the front too if they look like they will fit ok. Anyone have any pics of zx wide body kits and has anyone done this sort of thing?
  8. ohh ok, i was thinking that you were using it for ign too i'm not sure how far mine is from being timed right i haven't had time to touch it in the last few days and i dont have the intake on it right now. So i'll have to wait and see how much it's off.
  9. i am dealing with the same thing, but mine is with a haltech.One of the wires is the 0 degree and the other is the 120 so for now i have the 0 set as my home and the 120 set as my trigger. It fires the coils but its not timed right yet, i have to find out myself how far its off so i can adjust it in the haltech. let me know how far yours is off and i'll do the same

  12. ok the stock ignitor from the rb25det is positive trigger, my old rx-7 coils were negative trigger but doesn't matter with the haltech cuz it does both so as far as i know i have the ignition figured out i'll make a wiring diagram when i get everything done.
  13. hey jersey, how u been? i try to call and im but u are so busy i never get ahold of you i am going to document the wiring for those of you who are using haltechs i'm not sure if anyone has or not. So far i think i got the cps hooked up right it's reading 180rpm on cranking with the starter so that is a good thing. I don't have a big enough hole in the upper water manifold so i am going to try and use the nissan sensors. I swapped the oil sending unit already and i plan to take apart the harness i made already for the haltech and change the layout to fit the rb better. I tested the compression yesterday and got 190 to 200psi across the cyls so i was happy to see that. Went to get oil and a filter yesterday and realized i had no clue what filter would work on it so he tried looking up a skyline course no luck so he gave me one from a 300zx and it worked just fine on it!!! I want to figure out the ignitor that came with the motor and i am going to relocate it so i can grind off the nubs on the coil cover and make it smooth. All in all its going good now all i have to do yet is the intake which i have mocked up just need it welded the ic should be in tomorrow and the piping should be in on thursday so it might be a reality of hearing this old girl run by next weekend oh yea i wanted to add that none of this would be happening right now if it wasn't for the help i got from my lil brother justin(not my real brother) he always helps me on my cars and this time he helped me more than he should have. He was suppose to be finishing the body work on another car but stopped to help me. Friends like that are one i a million.
  14. thanks guys, i just got the aluminum cut to size at the local machine shop and i am going to mock it up tonight and maybe get i welded this weekend. I have a question for the rb gods, i searched and didn't find much on the intakes how important are all the water passages in that intake? I looked at some others they the don't have so many passages and i figured while they are welding on it they might as well clean it up. There is enuf plumbing on this dang engine to do a house!! I hope to have her running by next weekend. But time will tell seeing that my side jobs are beggin for my time too and that gets the custom parts made for me
  15. hmm got me wondering how long is the quickest swap my biggest hurdle is finding the time with my jobs and girl all screamin for attention.
  16. specs are .70 A/R on the compressor side and on the exhaust it's stock .68 A/R but it's been machined out top accept the full T4 turbine. I am not sure what that would make the A/R prolly some formula how to figure it out but i not that good at mathmatics Think the wheel is a 60-1 not totally sure tho but she boosts like a motha on top end now. I ran 25-30psi on the L28et with that turbo it's internally gated of course but i am thikning of getting kenny's manifold and an external gate and put the full t4 housing back on. What are your turbo specs? the ebay on vs the gt30 you have?

  20. well here is where i am at now, This is before i put on the rear sump pan. Look at how well they build these engines the crank caps are all hooked together!! This one is after the pas was on and the stock turbo was still on it Here it is with my hybrid turbo on it Another shot of the hybrid turbo First test fit extended tranny mount(used the skyline trans mount and z crossmember) after its all in trans mount welded and turbo clocked I had to mod my down pipe i got from scottiegnz here is the turbine side of my turbo it's a full t4 wheel in a t3 housing tranny difference rb25 trans on the bottom l28 trans on top all the fabbing except the ic and driveshaft are done, I have the exhaust all done mounts all done and shifter in. I have to work on the wiring now. Time to stick my nose in the fsm for the rb25 and see what wires do what Posted this at zcar too so if you wander over there you'll see this again
  21. hey jitter, yea i have been on here for a while but i got away from the z for a few years but now i am back, just let me know when your gona be up and we can meet up someplace. I actually live in Port Austin now i just never changed the profile I just got the engine in had a hell of a time fabbing mounts and everything but it was well worth it. I am gonna post another thread of the progress.
  22. i was thinking the same thing but as far as i can tell everything looks to be in order. I emailed them and they want me to call them monday to work things out. Took the pan off and everyting from the underside looks great, they had the coils out i can tell cuz of the cover and cuz the coils were lose when i took them out. Clutch looks new so does the timing belt the flywheel is perfectly straight no groves. Like i said so far it looks good i am very happy with this engine.
  23. got it from a place in canada for 1700 shipped found a couple things that are damaged but all in all nothing major. I did find that the screw holes on the top cover for the coils do not line up and my cover only says nissan 24 valve so i am guessing it should have the 2500 cover on the top. here is there info EITHER EMAIL US AT nagasaki_motor2006@yahoo.ca OR YOU CAN REACH US @1877-303-9854
  24. well it came in today only took 5 days to get here from the west side of the country. Here are the pics of it in the back of my sonoma man am i excited!!!! she is coming apart tonight and the best thing is they just cut the harness and left it on the motor!!! i was expecting it to be stripped of all wiring but it has all the connectors and yoke and everything else i need for the swap to go smooth. i'll get more pics tonight when i am taking it apart.
