  1. He used the w55 -w58 toyota 5 speed. I dont know what clutch. I will ask but I wont see him untill next week. Douglas
  2. A local engineer has been building vh45 to toyota supra trans down this way for a while. I think he uses hydrualic through out bearings though. I could get a price if you were intereseted, shipping would probably kill it though. Douglas
  3. They are using these motor a lot in speedway cars down here now. The company builing my SBC does a lot of them and he said his best engine was 525 hp at the crank. This is a na engine on a 4 barrel carb. Aparently they raise the ports a bit but have to do a lot of work on the valve train to get them to work at high revs. Douglas
  4. Well I havent pulled out any photos for a while. This is my take on aero mods. I dont have any recent ones but the hood is now vented before the struts to benifit from the low pressure there. I am just about to put the final undercoat on and sand it all back this weekend hopefully. The under tray goes as far back as the steering rack and the rear "diffuser" picks up on the angle of the petrol tank so I had to cut out some of the rear valence (spelling ) to get it all to fit. http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=948&cat=500&ppuser=8086 Douglas
  5. About 12-13 years ago I saw a really nice 240 with a 308 holden in it in a street machine mag. Looked like a nice conversion. I think the holden 308 is a lot lighter then the sbc and with late model heads and injection the can be turned into a nice engine with a lot of power. It would probably be more costly then the chev but dont discount it. Douglas
  6. Davy, You tell a great story. My wife any I have been through many forms of poo art over the last few years. Now the kids are 4 and 6 and are a bit past that now, However another one is due in March. I had kind of forgoten about all that. Guess I had better get used to it again. Happy X-mas, Douglas
  7. Thanks Joel, Keep in touch. My Dad lives in Atlanta and he could forward them to me after payment if that makes life easyer. Happy X-mas, Douglas
  8. Those look mighty fine, Joel. Are you going to sell your wheel spacer adapters. I am interested if they are from standard to 5 * 4.5. Cheers, Douglas
  9. Joel. Am I reading this correctly? Are you going to sell your spacer adapters? I need some 4 stud to 5 stud 4.5 inch adapters. Need to be at least 36 mm. BTW. I have a set of 10.5 cobra R's sitting next to me with 275/40/17's on them. Bugger all stretch. I think the tire size is just about spot on. Cheers, Douglas
  10. Nice two40. Engine specs are very similar to mine, cept mine is still apart. What did you use for headers? I still have to sort that out on mine. Douglas
  11. J, If you want to get rid of your adapters let me know. I cant seen to get any 4 to 5 stud locally. Cheers, Douglas
  12. I would be interested in seeing some photo's as well. A resent wheel purchase has made flares neccesary for my 2+2 as well. I was wondering how ZG's would fit the rear of the 2+2. Its a different shape then the 2 seater. Douglas
  13. The first thing that comes to mind is how much will the engine weigh and what do you want to put it in? Douglas
  14. Some of these things have been gone through in the past. Early 300zx fits, some f body hubs fit, looks like 240sx's use the same bearings. I am really interested in other nissan brakes from imports. JDM to those on other shores.Do skyline brakes fit? what about the a31 chassis, RWD maxima, Luarel etc. Really need someone who is real familiar with the bearing biz. to jump in. Looking for a cheep 5 stud front option. Cheers, Douglas
  15. And while we are trying to get Ricks leftovers......... I could use some spacers like yours Rick. If you want to give them up can you let me know. I havent reallly been able to locate any on this side of the pacific and my Cobra R's should be here any day now. Cheers, Douglas P.s. Car is looking wicked btw.
  16. You could use copper pipe. You can get bends fron a plumbing supply shop and its really easy to braze. I did one for my suzuki jeep. Works well. Douglas
  17. Chevy would kill the thing. It would also handel like crap. I put a 2tg into my 76 sr cuope and even that mesed up the balance. These cars are light. 200hp at the flywheel is enough for a lot of fun. I would look at the 3.0 lt 4 cyliner toyota truck engine (3rz I think). Get it back as far as you can. If you must have a v8 look for the lightest one you can fine. Buick 350, ford 302, rover 3500 or the larger versions. Mabye a buick v6. Douglas

I wouldnt bother. Puting the skyline cross member in there would be far easyer. Douglas
  19. Hey Mayolives, This is a bit of topic but i was a little curious about your name. I am a olive/grape grower, wine maker here in New Zealand. Wouldnt have thought olives would do to well in Myrtle Beach and you definatly wouldnt be getting them in May? Cheers, Douglas
  20. Shisho, Go on e-bay and look up mustang cobra r. I have ordered some 10.5' wide rear 9' wide for the front. Then go and hassel Ross C. to make up some spacer-adapters and your away. This is the cheepest way I could find to get big feet on my z. Douglas
  21. Give me some details and I will make a few calls for you. Its never cheep though. The cobra r rims i have ordered form florida will coast $350 usd to ship to me. Size is about the same as an engine block, obviously not the weight. Douglas
  22. Mike, Dont get to excited about that mag. I did and bought a 3 year subscription. Just look at the pictures when it comes now. I have the article. Drop me an adress and I will send it to you. Douglas
