  1. Sweet! hey, how come we're the only ones playing this game? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YF-ZTycbZLE Here's another cover set: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Se4nKy-8As http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtgcmqFEON0
  2. Here's another rocking cover set: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1WWVTAd1SA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1C-Bcz306o&mode=related&search= (robert smith doesn't look like he digs this performance too much...)
  3. When I was in a band in high school, we noticed that a disproportionate number of punk bands had what we called "theme songs", that is: songs that were named after the band. We wanted to do a cover set of all of them, I thought it would be great! Minor Threat had one, Gorilla biscuits ("Gee Oh Are Eye double A biscuits!!!), Youth of Today, I think Bad Brains had one if I remember correctly...it was going to be so dope...Hmmm...Bad Brains, you say? Don't mind if I do... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxCd7txAjoM
  4. Sparky, tell me you liked these guys! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1dSMaWZoX4 (singer from that band went on to form this band:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngZXgBH7v9c)
  5. I think he might have been implying he was the inspiration somehow...Looks a good bit like the old california JCR bodykit, but with one big mustang scoop instead of the two that that kit came with.
  6. Looks a lot like Driftn280zxt's stuff (conceptually, anyway)...nice looking drawing though!
  7. If you're looking for prices, you're better off googling the brand name, and going to the website. If you are too tall, you can always do the roof scoop route, or Viper style helmet bulge...I'm just over six feet, maybe six two, and with stock seats I've got plenty of head room (though i've not got a cage, and haven't tried it with a helmet)... *edit* and you say you circle track in a sentra? How's that working out?
  8. Mashed, but with the little lumps still in them...or maybe twice baked, that way you get the best of both worlds! checkers or connect 4?
  9. I wanted Bitchin' Camaro, but had to settle for Punk Rock Girl...there was a cheesy homemade video of BC, but it wasn't even the whole song... I agree, they don't make punk like that anymore, but the newer stuff is good. It's funny to see who went on to do what...Ian McKay (minor threat) went on to Fugazi: Henry Rollins (black flag) went on to Rollins Band... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZSrXsGct6g After Milo (from the descendents) went to college, they did some stuff as "All", but I wasn't that into it...then he came back and they did some other stuff. 7 seconds never really went away, and between them, Minor Threat, and Youth of Today, we ended up Straight Edge music. Then Ray of Today from Youth of Today (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxk-KIdmenA)started Shelter, a rockin Hare Krishna band that doesn't have any good videos on Youtube...(this is the most professional one I could find...Sabatoge, anyone?)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qY7gBIFO_hk&mode=related&search=
  10. Did somebody say the Dead Milkmen? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hQQ_wA0HxE Nice specials song, Sparky! I wanted to find the new Specials version of Pressure Drop, but i didn't see it anywhere...by the way, is this punk enough for ya? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2s6F2qybTM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hl0dxxYZ-sA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFF7jzVfSB0
  11. General rule of thumb for fasteners is that they should be screwed in at least as far as the hole is wide. I've got some locally made 1.5" hub adapters on my z, but no pics right now. If this isn't resolved by tomorrow, I could take one of my wheels off and get a picture of that for you (my car is at work, and I'm off today). can you get a picture of down in the hole there so we can see how much room you have around the stud? It may be that your adapters are designed to use a shank style lug nut.
  12. Well, since I've been called out by name, here it is: these side skirts came from an early RSX-typeS, I'm not sure the year. I got them for free since I was working at an Acura dealership and they were going to get thrown out otherwise. I had to shorten the front, originally it went all the way to the middle of the wheel! Also I had to trim a lip off the inside edge so they would fit flush with the rocker. As shown, there is only one bolt holding them on in the center through the floor pans...redneckery of the highest order! I tell myself it's so they'll tear off if I'm drifting, but since my car doesn't run right now...
  13. I love cover songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTtp7oUNGCw&mode=related&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPTToqSY-OM&mode=related&search= and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozvYUb0oGik I wish there were a better video of this, the album version is WAY better-
  14. Here's some airbrush stuff I did, but won't be using for this: these two were part of a larger piece that included two 4'X2' comic book style panels in the middle This is a lithograph, hand colored with watercolor. It might be usable, I'm not too sure about it: I'm thinking of using both of these, just not these photos of them (I'll see if like Kinkos or somebody has a large size scanner): that little piece at the bottom of this one is a picture underneath it, not part of the image: Mus, if you want tattoo designs, PM me or start a new thread, I'm sure there are other people that might have ideas for that too. I still like this one that I offered Savageskaterkid when he had his tat thread going:
  15. Hey Phil, why didn't you comment on my blog? Nobody cares about my dang myspace... -edit- Hey Moby, I forgot all about that game! Maybe I will use that one...
  16. That might work. What has me confused is that I've spoken to the admissions guy several times (really cool guy, used to work for EA games who has an office right there in Orlando by the school), and he's not an artist. He said he'd like to see 6-7 drawings "of my best stuff," but mostly figure based and "traditional" whatever that means to a non-art trained individual. That's one of those relative terms that means one thing to somebody that knows a little bit about it, and something slightly but significantly different to someone that knows a little more. I assume that means he doesn't want like cubist or really abstract stuff, and probably not really like manga style characters either. I've got some charcoal figure drawings and portraits that I think I'll show one or two of. The fact that he just wants them emailed makes me wonder how good they need to be, really. Usually showing a portfolio involves showing either slides of, or actual pieces of art you've done, mostly it's gone over to disc form now. But any file small enough to be emailed is going to lose something in digital translation, in my opinion...OTM, you've heard me complain about scan quality many times, and even these three images are missing some of the dignity that's there when they are actually in your hand.
  17. How about a scene from the Barbie Z32 ad? That would be pretty dope...I was wanting to do an arcade piece, maybe I could have some girls playing centipede or something (for some reason, that game was HUGE with girls in it's day...an inexplicable but well documented phenomenon. So says the Complete History of Video Games, anyway.)
  18. Guess I should give him a gas tank also... My wife says I should do some more girly themed stuff too, just to show I can. Not a bad idea, but what to do?
  19. I'm going to go back into that one, I want it to be super cluttered, kind of like the shop where the dude buys the mogwai in the movie gremlins...
  20. As some of you may know, I'm putting together some sample artwork to get into a Master's Program in Video Game Design. I've been having trouble trying to decide what to show this guy, since he only wants 6-7 images emailed to him. Usually I don't have any trouble with this sort of thing, but I'm kind of stressing out about this one. Here are some pictures I've been kicking around, some not as finished as others. I've got more, but they are too large to scan. I may try and take digital photos of them to get them up. If you've got any feedback, ideas, or requests, feel free to post or PM. It's not all Z related, but I couldn't help it in this first one. I was reading a lot of the orginal Conan short stories be Robert E. Howard when I did this one: I was kind of thinking of Grumpyvette (whom I've never met or seen) when I did this one (sorry grumpy, it was supposed to be in a good way...) and it's really sketchy right now, not finished at all...
  21. Same picture from post #125, but B_sosick wanted to see it in color. Here you go Brandon:
  22. Hey Zr8d, if you are looking for a donor car to snarf some skirts off of, I got mine off of an early RSX-typeS: I had to shorten the front a bit, that's why the mud guards are there (to cover the raggedy cut line), and there is a lip I had to trim off the top to get them to fit snug up against the car. They don't actually go any lower than the original bodywork, so they don't make the car look appreciably taller in my opinion.
  23. Let's see...it's a 280, with SU manifolds, with some kind of mcgillicutty to join them together that looks like it may have two fuel injectors in it, but the fuel lines are just kind of dangling there...Is that made of fiberglass? Kind of looks like it to me...Is that black thing on the end of the whatever you want to call that thing a throttle body, or is it designed to use a single carb? If so, then the carb being below the level of the intake manifold doesn't make much sense to me...so no, I guess I don't know what that thing is supposed to be. I'm voting for home made, never finished because it wasn't really working out like they planned...anybody else have any ideas? *edit* that header looks a lot like MY ugly header...
  24. Larry, my hat's off to you and all Vets! My grandfather was in Vietnam in the air force, he was doing computer programing...
  25. Had a minor setback with the megasquirt install, although I had my car on the lift for the first time ever (I've been too afraid of rust, but it held fine.). Turns out you need to clean the board with denatured alcohol, so we did that. Then the guy that put it together for me noticed he had accidentally bridged one of the map sensor contacts, so we fixed that....Now it turns on, but I get no voltage to my fuel pump and injectors. I'm thinking I'll just switch them independantly, and go from there. Got some welding done on my pin puller, I'll probably give that a try tomorrow and see how it works.
