  1. I'm kind of wishing I'd put this in the suspension forum now, I wasn't expecting it to have any real tech value, but you never know what can happen here on Hybridz. I'll probably get started on the LCA bushings on Wednesday since I've got a day off, and my wife doesn't, which means I get to play with my toys without too much interruption.
  2. That's really not too bad, $282.79 per throttle body...I see they sell su air horns for $13 too...that's the cheapest I've ever seen those. These probably don't include the injectors though. I only paid $200 for my z (the guy I got it from got it for free), so I have a hard time spending a lot on any single part. "That cost more than my whole car!" is a favorite of mine when people are trying to sell me stuff. Works great. I think Starion/Conquest throttle bodies might be the way to go, since they are out there, and they are already 1-barrell tbi throttles with 2 injectors per unit. Plus those engines were 2.6L, so even 1 draw through would be enough to feed your whole engine requirements.
  3. You could maybe use two Starion throttle bodies, they were TBI with one primary injector, and a secondary for boost if you can find them. I know the junkyard operators around there are smoking the rocks, but they turn up every so often for cheap.
  4. www.twminduction.com makes su replacement throttle bodies. Pretty cool, but expensive too.
  5. Why do you say that, gasoline? I never did an intro thread, but I did kind of ease my way in before I started my own threads. I think the only people that have a really hard time are the ones that sign up and just run around like they own the place. As long as you (by you I mean any new member, not you personally) search first and try to treat people like you want to be treated, I don't think too many people will get on your case. Besides, having threads ignored for awhile and being told by like 10 people to search is sort of like frat initiation...
  6. Welcome to the site. The faqs section is a pretty good place to start as far as getting a feel for what it's like around here, but it sounds like you've got the right attitude already! -Max
  7. I'm partial to 20, 22, and 27 from the first link.
  8. Actually no, my mirrors are from a 1979 Mazda RX-7. They're power, but not hooked up. These look pretty good though.
  9. Anybody ever see the South Park with the guest appearance by Dio? That was awesome. I never learned guitar solos either, especially the long ones. I really need some editing software...The drummer from dream theatre was no joke... That Dio video was so horrible I HAD to add it to my myspace page...http://www.myspace.com/ninjadatsun... It's right next to the breakdancing transformer video.
  10. Eruption! do Eruption! Ain't talkin' bout love! do that one too! Then get a keytar, and play Rainbow in the Dark! Big Phil don't need no instructions to know how to rock!
  11. So did you just butt the bushings up, and drill a hole where the zerk was going, or did you make a groove down the length, or around the circumference? I'm not really clear on that part...Also, what thread pitch are those things to tap the LCA, does it say on the package? I'm glad I posted this before I got that far, this is good stuff!
  12. What a con artist! Just for reference: I bought a used t04 for $50, a used pulsar gti-r intercooler for $40, and a wastegate for $100. I'm making my own manifold, so I'll let you know how much that ends up being...$20 for a gas cap! wtf?! You could have gotten a new aftermarket for less than that, possibly even a new nissan one from somebody! Un acceptable. You can tell him I said that.
  13. that is one crazy sway bar link setup you've got there, Jon! Sounds like a plan, when "while I'm at it" goes right, right?
  14. What's the advantage to lubing them up besides ease of removal down the road? I haven't started the control arm bushings yet, I think I'll wait for the pin puller. Did we ever figure out if using a large bolt in place of the spindle pins is a workable idea?
  15. "how hard can it be?" "where did I leave my torch?" (why does the slap guy look so much like Ronald Reagan to me? Am I the only one who thinks that?) "what the heck is this made of?!" "Seriously, what is this made of?!?" :willy_nil "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHH!!!!!" Finally, mustache bar bushings are in....now for the spindle pins... I've discovered that a hole saw works better than a torch, for anyone who is interested and hasn't done this yet...Also, if you use too much of the goo they include, the bushing wants to come squirting back out of the hole after you press it in. Speaking of presses, have at least a shop vise handy to put the new bushings in, and it really helps if you have an actual press around. I'm doing mine at the dealership where I work, so I get to use the big compressor to power my air tools, and the bearing press to squish out the old bushings and compress the new ones. That helps too: go get a job at a dealership before you attempt this operation so you can use the cool stuff they have laying around in the shop!
  16. My vote is to run some wire. Divide and conquer! Test each piece one at a time, starting at the pump, working your way back up to the switch.
  17. I was also pretty sure they were different, but if Prox used his n/a pump to 20psi of boost, that's plenty for what I'll need out of it. I'm not going to build this motor much, and I really don't ever expect to exceed 10-12 psi of boost.
  18. I blame it on the rise of text messaging: the need to keep messages as short and abbreviated as possible to avoid paying extra. That's carried over into the internet, where it's a visual slang I suppose. I know a guy that is perfectly normal when you talk to him in person, but as soon as you open up an email from him, it's like he's straight out of compton with the super gangsta shorthand that is ALMOST but not quite completely unintelligible. Really tripped me out the first time I saw it, but I started to call him out on it right away and he's mostly stopped doing it, at least with me.
  19. is that the same whale tail that Seeya has? I know his came on his car, but he might be able to tell you better how it's mounted. Looks like a copy of the Jim Cook Racing whale tail that goes with their bodykit.
  20. This is pretty cool from that pierce website...
  21. I had a friend that did a Prelude H22 turbo swap into his. It was faster than when he did the 5cyl. turbo (which was not too fast by all accounts, my other friend beat him in an n/a integra ls automatic). Cool car though, it was pretty funny seeing the looks on peoples' faces when his car would pull in sounding like a dump truck...
  22. They all interchange, just have to watch out if they need the spray bar or not. You'd be better off buying one that was bigger or having one reground if you are going to all that work though. None of the stock cams are worth the effort to change. I hear you can't go too big with the stock fuel injection though...
  23. Why does the name John Petrucci sound familiar? I'm not half as metal as I used to be now that I'm married...I was always more punk rawk anyway. My video would probably feature 7 Seconds riffs or maybe Minor Threat...
  24. Those are the craziest picture backgrounds....any significance to the micro-trailer (with moon landing flag) in the middle of nowhere and great clips? Nice looking car, I didn't know Neuspeed was still around. I worked at Acura for awhile, watch out for 2nd gear in that thing...
