Does what stick out? If you go to:http://www.centuryperformance.com/search_results.asp?txtsearchParamMan=ALL&txtsearchParamCat=ALL&txtsearchParamVen=ALL&txtsearchParamType=ALL&txtFromSearch=fromSearch&txtsearchPara mTxt=sdh-cc2&radSearchProductID=1 They give the measurements of the header, from flange to outside of tubes or see my post above for specs on CC1, 2 and 3's. If that doesn't help I've got the box in my truck with the headers I could go out and take any measuement you want, they are going back today. David
-
Davy Z do you have a pic of the CC1's clearing the steering shaft? I was looking at them at the Sanderson website and the measurements are different as far as how far they stick out from the block CC1's 3" CC2's 3.25" CC1_1-5/8 2.75"!!! That's a bit tighter than the standard CC1. But these are going on TFS angle plug heads. I think I'll call them today and see what else is avaliable then order some Hookers from Summit. There is still much to do on the car and I'm taking my time and trying to do it "right". Starting at the front with the radiator and Black Magic fan, working my way back to the drive shaft. I swapped the T spacers around and didn't have to redrill the tranny X member holes in the floor last night (thank God). The shifter lines up much better now but will require some trimming of the hole but not too much. I've still got a lot of parts that need to be bolted up and wiring to do also. I'll work on headers as time allows and update frequently. Pic will be snapped at lunch and posted on Yahoo this evening (I hope!!!) David

Update. The headers CC2's still DO NOT FIT. There is more room but still not enough to clear the steering shaft. If the headers angled inward further (closer to the block) they would probably work. I'm going with hooker headers to see if they work now... ds

Here's the link on this site http://www.hybridz.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=001308 ds

Yeah they wanna charge $$$ for the site now. I'll be transfering it to a Yahoo account sometime this week with new pics of the engine in the car albeit the T spacers are still wrong , gonna work on the spacers either tonight or definatly tomorrow when I have some help. ds
-
Old school baby!!! Hahahahahahahahah. Can't wait to get the 240 on the road... Soon. Need to shift to high gear if we're gonna do the TX hybridZ thing. ds
-
I may consider doing that but wrong is wrong and I don't have the engine installed correctly at this point the T spacers wound up on the wrong side of the engine So first things first fix the spacer problem and then recheck the header fitment then report my findings back here. ds
-
Ross the headers may fit If I would have paid closer attention... I put the T spacers in wrong so the engine is sitting closer to the driver's side (short spacer JTR) need to swap em over and recheck ds
-
Update... They don't fit !!! They dump right on top of the steering shaft with NO way around it, only about a 1/2" of clearance between the bottom of the collector and the steering shaft. ds

Good info guys. I have the 7/8 Tilton unit (what, don't you think I read old posts? haha) Dan (thanks for the pic) are you running a T-5?) If so could you measure or do you remember the hose length. The shop I'm using for this said they would have NO PROBLEM connecting to the slave I've dismantled the slave and I cut the nylon (sp) tubing off the nipple. Bottom line, I need the hose length I'm guessing 26" will work I just don't want to buy 2 hoses. Thanks, ds
-
Getting things together here... JTR sayts the hose for the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder using a WC T-5 should be 24 inches. I'm having a custom hose made and want YOUR opinion on hose length. JTR position, 350, T-5. Engine not in car YET. D-day approaching 1/25/03!!! I cant wait!!! David

Talk about strapping your ass to an engine
-
I hope to have that feeling real soon too. Way to go!!! ds

Sorry WAY over priced, but nice. The way I judge cars for myself is in 2 areas. Engine bay and interior. The inside of this car does not look that exceptional (may be the pics, light doesn't look that great) and the engine is not as "tricked out" as it should be for that kind of $$$. Just my opinion, heck my car is non-running sittin in the garage so who am I to judge. ds

Headers showed up last night. Good looking parts, ceramic coated, well packed, no damage. Can't wait to see if they fit. ds
-
Nice!!! What size/offset are they ds
-
flibuoy, Yeah sometimes we get off the subject... Don't worry once I get the engine in with the headders I'll post a reply to this thread. It' may be a while before that happens though. If I can get my buddies up here from out of town I'll be looking at Jan 25 or so. ds

Thanks for sharing Pete!!! The other name I came up with would be 8-ball but I don't think the local law enforcement officials would think it's as humorous I as do on a vanity plate. Behind the 8-ball. Paint the car black and ghost in an 8-ball (pool ball, get yer mind out da gutta boys) on the lower fender behind the wheel and on the roof haha. Or once it gets running how about just BAWLZ. Hmmmm gotta try that one at the DMV. ds Better get back to work now and quit dreaming about paint jobs

Len, the Z ain't as pretty as it used to be. The interior is out but engine bay is ready though. I guess I need to work on one area at a time. I got carried away by replacing the old fuel lines and that led to the sound deadener install. Which led to some rust repair in the floor behind the driver and passenger seats. R-200 swap with full poly, new Tokico struts, brute force U-joints. Front suspension rebuild, full poly, new rack boots, new Tokico's and strut spacers. I've got a name for the car though SNOBALL because that's what it's become, it just snow balls in to a bigger and bigger project. One day I will get to drive it again, hopefully early next year, hopefully. Headers should be here tomorrow 12/18/02. Just another part in waiting, but not for too much longer... ds

I ground the cam button flat, the dome interfered with the timing cover so I just ground it down. I understand that the cam will "walk" fore and aft to some degree but I don't think it will be a issue. Like I said I'll have no one to blame except myself. If it (cam button) grinds a hole in the timing cover I'm sure I'll notice it pretty quickly (haha oil going every where) and I'll fix it from there, I've got bigger fish to fry right now than to worry about a silly little thing like this, no I'm not losing sleep over it. Got the X member holes elongated so I guess the next step it to mate the engine and tranny together. Wish I had some extra hands around here. I've never delt with clutches before so I better bust out the books and start reading again and figure out how the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and T.O. bearing bolt up. Fun, fun, fun. ds

Thanks Mike. This is not a drag car nor is it going to be a daily driver I belive I call it my HOBBY. If the parts I've go suck so bad then I'll change them out later. I built the engine (first one ever by myself) and car pretty much myself so if something blows I'll go blame the guy in the mirror. The only thing that worries me is the solid roller cam button on the cam timing gear. I ground it down so it would clear the T-chain cover but if it eats a hole through it well then I'll know I did something wrong. I'm at the screw it point right now, the holidays are upon us and I'm trying to get my life back on track. I haven't been working on the z near as much as I thought possible so it's screw it time, screw it all together and see if it works if not well back to the drawing board or the Hybrid Z board anyway. ds

The guy I spoke with said these would fit my Trick Flow heads BUT he is obviously not a fan of Trick Flow (OK whatever) nor is he a fan of my Edelbrock 750 cfm carb. I'll make that decision when I get the car running. It's one thing to say something is a piece of junk but a whole other deal to back it up with proof. I'm saying F*ck it at this point I just want the car back on the road, junk parts or not I'll swap em out later. ds
