  1. First of all remember it's a 2+2. If you really want a 2+2 get it (personally I don't care for them but don't let ME sway you one way or the other). The car seems to be all there the problem is it's in PA which raises the dreded RUST issue. I had/still have a rusty car, I abandoned ship on it due to rust however for $600 that I gave for it it made a wonderful parts car. I sold parts on E-bay and to local Z-er's, nabed the R-200 from under it and easily got my $$$ back out of it. The paint IMHO would not be the deciding factor of purchase or not, hell how many of us have a paint job that's not even that decent??? Just remember it's a 2+2, either you love em or ya hate em. Get what YOU want. ds
  2. YES!!! World Class T-5 ds BTW it is a pain in the rear, do it before the weather warms up or you'll be sweating you arse off!!! Air hammer, cold chisle, vise grips, 2 hours or so and some COLD BEER. So far this was the toughest part of the conversion. Go figure.
  3. I know wrong forum second time posting :malebitchslap: BUT I need HELP... T-5 tranny out of a Camaro, I fabbed a U shaped bracket to bolt to the bellhousing in front of the slave cylinder to hold the return sping. NOW how in the heck do you drill the CLUTH FORK? That damn thing is tough!!! Any other options? This and electric fan wiring are the only things keeping me from rolling this Z down the road (to the muffler shop!!!) Please help. Thanks, ds
  4. I'll give it a try but read earlier that it is made out of spring steel so it's a tough SOB to drill while it's in the car I'm going to try a stouter drill bit and an air drill next to see if that works. Any body else have a sugguestion or HOW did you set your return spring up up on a T-5? ds

  6. Personally I wouldn't do the Buick but to each is own. About the swap, I hope you have the JTR manual. I didn't run into any thing extremely difficult about the swap except by not pay attention I accidently put the T spacers on the wrong sides, no big deal just swaped them over. The auctual conversion has been quite easy so far. The most difficult thing has been the removal of the original tranny mounts PITA big time, second I would say wiring because mine is so butched up but I'm working on that issue right now. ds
  7. All the info sounds right. I found out that an empty T-5 holds about 5 quarts of fluid so be sure to get enough. If the tranny is in the car already get a pump for a boat outdrive (avaliable at Wal-Mart) and use it to fill the tranny till it just "dribbles" out of the fill plug. ds
  8. Yeah but dont trash em!!! One mans trash is another mans treasure!!! Try to sell them on E-bay or in the local shopper news... ds
  9. Calling anybody in Flagstaff, AZ A buddy of mine is getting jacked around on some SR20DET parts for his 240SX swap. Anybody willing to check out this clown in Flagstaff, AZ? Normally I wouldn’t ask for this kind of help, but seeing how we’re in Arkansas and my buddy that’s getting jacked around drove up here 4 hours on a weekend to helped me put the 350 in the Hybrid, and is willing to come back and finish up the miscellaneous BS to get the car running, I feel a bit obligated to help him out however I can. Here is what my buddy Vince sent me, calling the guy out… Hey, as you suggested, here is the list of stuff that I got screwed on. The guy's name and address are: Justice Dykes 3431 N. Childress St. Flagstaff, AZ 86004 -----Original Message----- From: Vince Sent: Tuesday, February 11, 2003 1:14 PM To: 'Honspeed@aol.com' Subject: RE: SR20DET parts Justice, I still haven't seen any parts, and I still have what was supposed to be a fundamentally complete engine that is acting no better than a boat anchor in my garage. Once again, I need: ECU (paid you $150 extra for it), wiring harness, Cam Angle sensor, good throttle body, good oil pan, igniter chip, coil cover, alternator, a/c compressor, p/s pump, and any other accessories you can manage. And once again, my shipping address (at a business) is B&F Engineering, 928 Airport Road, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913. I have been more than patient and forgiving thus far, so please let me know what will be done to resolve the situation and when I can expect to receive the parts. Thank you, Vince -----Original Message----- From: Honspeed@aol.com [mailto:Honspeed@aol.com] Sent: Monday, January 06, 2003 11:46 PM To: Subject: Re: SR20DET parts sorry ive been in cali..still no parts...im having other distributer problems with i8t seems like someone is taking my money and running..i have 3 months of back orders not showing up...i will be in contact with them in the am to get the parts listed together and to you..even if i have to go back to cali to get them myself...i am sorry and i have had the worst luck the last month with suppliers...i will gewt back to you in the am tomorrow with an answer for all your questions...and no i dont need anymore mo0ney from you this is something they already said they would take care of and havnt...j
  10. Man that's my old car what a POS, just sold it for $1.00!!! Haha just kidding Kinda crazy don't ya think ds
  11. Good deal!!! So how much clearance does that hood provide? I like it. ds
  12. I just ordered the Centerline Azteks and was wondering what size tire will fit. I'm guessing 235/45/17 or do I need to go smaller 225/45/17? Sugguestions? I'm a mail order kind of guy, Tire Rack!!! Thanks, ds
  13. That TOTALY sucks. I've never been incarcerated but feel while serving time just "play by the rules" and set an example while doing time. Yes, try to be the "model inmate" draw no extra attention to yourself, keep your mouth shut and appeal, appeal, appeal. Best of luck to you and we’ll be here waiting to hear back from you soon. ds
  14. I know, I know... If you read the Sanderson CC2 post you know THEY DON'T FIT... I originally wanted the Sanderson QP1000's and the sales guy talked me into the CC2's. I should have just ordered the Hooker 2100's in the first place. I got the Hookers last night, took one out of the box and by just eyeballing it could tell these looked a heck of a lot closer to something that would fit. So I ran by the house this morning to do an initial bolt up and guess what? THEY FIT!!! Plenty of clearance past the steering arm, spark plugs are a bit tight (Accel short header plugs, with Taylor wires with 90 degree boots) I'm so happy!!! Now I'll send them back to Summit and get the ceramic coated ones. O happy day ds
  15. DATTOZG, Thanks for posting that!!! ds
  16. Yeah and check out that helmet the guy has on. LOL. I remember an ad from Bell helmets years ago... If you have a $10 head wear a $10 dollar helmet... I added to this... "if you don't have a head, don't wear a helmet" ds
  17. Thanks Dan, I thought I was the only one on the board this morning... I would do the heim joint but don't feel like I have the skills and knowledge to do this. Mike K sent me a pic of his but still am having trouble figuring it out. Having the engine in the car doesn't make it any easier either. I'm going to order Hooker headers from Summit later today and we'll see what's up when they come in. If not I may just go down to the rod and custom shop $$$ and see what they can do for me there. Heck if the price isn't too steep I may have them go ahead with a custom 6pt cage for the car too, we'll see. I guess I can go forward with the other install items for now while I wait on the headers... ds
  18. I've read the old posts but was wondering??? This question goes back to my Sanderson exhaust question. I am not running the front X member spacers, if I were to install them would I gain clearance from the steering shaft? I believe I would since the spacers would in effect lower the cross member but wait the engine rests on the X member too there for the whole assy would be lowered thus gaining NO additional clearace from the bottom of the collector and the steering arm. I'm friggin confused, the header delema on Z's with angle plug heads absolutly SUCKS, never again, never. ds
  19. Sweet!!! Were these the ones on the website special? Great looking wheel!!! ds
  20. They didn't look like that when I was in HS Must be something in the water!!! ds
  21. Thanks Scottie, Speaking of weight distribution... Granted the car is on stands on the rear but the front wheels are on 4X4's for elevation. The suspension with new Tokickos and poly (with the same MSA lowering springs I've had), sits higher than with the inline 6!!! Cool I guess, when I shred the tires that are on it I'll have to move up to some real rubber enough to fill the void around the wheel well. One step at a time... Tomorrow more pics for the damn exhaust (which is driving me insane at this point, due to steering clearance ) and install radiator. I'm on my way!!! ds
  22. Only 2 new pics but the engine is in the car!!! Will take more over the weekend. ds
