  1. Well I went ahead and ordered the coated CC2's (Merry Christmas to me ) The primary tubes are 1.5" but it's an extremly short shot to the 2.5" collector. I think they'll be fine. I just want to get the engine and tranny installed and get the thing rolling on the road. I'm going to lose my garage space in a few months so I need to get cracking on the swap. Z man 377 thanks for the part numbers!!! David
  2. Has anybody/is anybody running these or tried these? Sanderson CC2's? ds
  3. Part of the vid is hard to see due to all the TIRE SMOKE!!!
  4. I'm still working on mine using the brown bread stuff. I used almost an entire small roll for the rear floor all the way to behind the seats and the sides, behind the plastic panels. ds
  5. No No how about the gas grill in the back of the dualie Funny as hell... ds
  6. Well according to Century Performance QP 1000's CANNOT be used with aftermarket heads I'm pissed. I really want to make this thing quiet under the hood with the solid roller cam it will be noisy enough. They recomended the CC2's has anybody tried these? The guy I spoke with said these would work, I'm leary. LINK: http://www.centuryperformance.com/search_results.asp?txtsearchParamMan=ALL&txtsearchParamCat=ALL&txtsearchParamVen=ALL&txtsearchParamType=ALL&txtFromSearch=fromSearch&txtsearchPara mTxt=sdh-cc2&radSearchProductID=1&Submit=go If not I think I'll just go with the Hookers and hold my breath that they clear the steering shaft w/o mods. Sugguestions welcome... ds
  7. Well I did it I ordered some Sanderson coated QP1000's set me back a chunk but I'll rest easier when the engine goes in knowing they'll fit and clear the steering shaft. Should be here in a few or so days. One thing I did'nt do but called on the morning was if these fit angled plug Trick Flow heads. I'm pretty sure they do but will have to cancel if they don't. d
  8. Something like that happened to me before, Hell how did I know the girls dad was an ex con Funny thing I did'nt even "do" his daughter, just a little underage drinking. d
  9. Give us an update here. I just watched a movie called "Road Trip" last night, funny as hell what this guy did to get a tape back. So... ds
  10. OMG, I imagine this guy has some new found respect for the older Z's. Haha wait till a full tilt Hybrid cleans his clock. ds
  11. Wow didn't mean to stir up a wave here guys... RPMS, I feel you hit the nail on the head, no offense Mikelly (because I damn near hold your word as gospel concerning Z's (compliment!!! )) I do feel that there are some GREAT cars out there for $38+K. Hell I'd be thrilled with a ZR-1 vette, 91-94 with ahemmm, 405 horse engines, 6 speeds, A/C, leather Bose, for around $21,000 are a bargin. Shoot there was an honest to goodness LINGENFELTER (90 MODEL) on e-bay a while back that sold for $21,000.00. The guy had it listed incorrectly, it did show up under a generic search as Lingenfelter but NEVER showed up under Corvettes. HaHa the lucky guy that got that, he stole it . The Lingenfelter upgrade is around $14000 itself. That makes this an $75K car, new sticker plus Lingenfelter package. WOW!!! 475Hp. Mustang Cobras are BAD ASS period. SS Camaro, with a few upgrades it's a kick butt car and can be had reasonably too. Viper, I wish way to $$$. Vette yeah but they are becoming like A-holes everybody's got one. One reason I like a particular car is for "the look" I don't see Vipers evey day but I do see, Vettes, TransAM's, Mustangs, Camaros out da butt and lot's o Boxters (latest and greatest Yuppie (sp) car around here) So it's refreshing to see a 350Z like eye candy, different lines. For 30K for a car I would seriously consider a Factory Five Cobra. See this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1872867926&indexURL=5&photoDisplayType=2#ebaylargephotohosting When I meet the owner of the white 350Z I can tell him "hey I've got an original Z (240) in the garage" HaHa does this guy really know and understand the original Z? Probably not so as I ease that aluminum headed, full roller 350 in my Z over the winter I'll know that the car I eventually drive down the road was built by me for me. I've got just about ALL the parts I need to get the car put back together I just need motivation, still missing her...God I miss her. I'll get it together eventually me and the car. F#ck it's hard some days, 3 months today...sorry about that. Later... I will have the last laugh because: 1 you don't see many 240's around here 2 it WILL run off and leave many of the cars mentioned in this post in the rear view mirror 3 it's paid for Build, drive and improve the Z thats what I'll do. Dream build, 77-81 Trans Am, solid roof, shaker hood, supercharged LS-1 with a 6 speed and AC. (next time!!! First the Z) dsommer
  12. OK here it goes, they turbo the thing I'll buy one. But NOT before I get the 240 on the road. So I've got time on my side haha Time to save up the $$$. ds
  13. I'm with ya there!!! Although I haven't driven one I feel that they could wring some MORE POWER out of the 3.5L to make a world class sports car that would still be affordable. Damn thing was in the guys driveway again last night. One night I'm sure he'll leave the keys in it for me. haha
  14. Walking the dog Friday night, I came across a Performance model 350Z sitting in somebody’s drive way. Naturally I had to check it out. I’ve seen a silver model running around town, which I got to look at close up but it never really did anything for me. BUT this white one, sheezzz. Something about it just did it for me. It’s low slung, curvy body, flared out fenders. Ooooooo, what’s this? Uh, window sticker, this puppy’s brand spankin’ new. $32,800. I’d love to drive one but don’t think the dealers are just handing out the keys for tire kickers just yet. I don’t care for any of the dark colored models due to those nice silver door handles that stick out like a sore thumb. White hell yeah.
  15. Sweet!!! Thanks grumpy you da man $299 shouldn't be too hard to spend for some extra parts to finish up the Z or get it going or well nevermind I got the engine bay painted anyway!!! ds
  16. Mike my prayers are with you and your family. My days are slowly getting better but still miss my wife so much. God Bless! David
  17. Damn that was funny DAMN!!! ds
  18. dsommer

    hahaha!

Those are the best looking wheels I've EVER seen on an Honduh ds
  19. I'm with ya there Matt!!! Thanks for the laugh I truly needed that. David
  20. Well I think I'm going to look at this car on the 26th of this month. Fly out of Dallas (the car is in West TX) and drive it back to Dallas, then trailer it up to Arkansas. It's clean and provided every thing is correct I'll get it. Should be a good time. Anybody in the DFW area wanna run their Hybrid against it so you can say you smoked a ZR-1? Later ds
  21. Opinions on ZR-1 vettes I’m contemplating purchasing one it’s a 90 model with 30K original miles, excellent condition, garage kept/covered, original window sticker, and build sheet. Preventative maintenance includes; new water pump, replaced all vac lines, new A/C clutch, salve cylinder replaced, AND the guy wants to put a new clutch, pp and TO bearing in before he sells ($900+ at the dealer). Price $21,900. Now I know this sounds high but have you ever priced these cars w/low mileage? Does anybody have a driving impression of the car they can share? I drove a 1999 auto and 2000 6-speed this weekend (both convertible/ red) nice cars but just a bit $$$ 1999 48,000 miles $30,000, no HUD no active suspension// 2000 model 25,000 miles $39,900!!! Fully loaded, nice but way too much $$$. Both these cars were nice and lookers BUT damn “king of the hill” back in 1990 vette stickered for a bit over $60,000 now going for $21,900, 375 horse, active suspension, 6 speed, and totally stock. The only thing I don’t like is that you see yourself going down the road too often with vettes. But ZR-1’s are a different story, granted they look similar to all the other vettes running around out there (of same body style) but once you mash the gas and start grabbing gears, hold on!!! I’m NOT quitting my Z I just want to get something to drive that is fast, reliable, and will hold it’s resale value for about a year or two. I don’t plan on using it as a daily driver; just want a good speed rush, while I complete the Z. Please don’t mention bikes, I’ve decided NO WAY, NO HOW , after Lone’s last accident. Thanks for listening, David
  22. I've heard of a person hosing down the IC with Nitrous Oxide during a run which just gasses off. It would be rather $$$ but effective!!! David
  23. All I can say is that the price is right and they look good on my 350 full roller, wish I knew how they performed, all in due time... David
  24. Should I remove this part from the fire wall like the hood latch? I'll be running a Lokar cable so I don't think I need the old linkage and it can be removed (reinstalling it would be a PITA) David
