    fjo????

This is the first time I've seen that fjo system. Looks pretty impressive. I wonder if you can do two way telemetry with their wireless modem option. That would be great for a track day as long as you have someone who knows what they are doing uploading the data
  2. No way I would wear a whiners helmet Don, I'll give you a call later. I work in Sunnyvale so it should be no problem picking it up and returning it.
  3. Anyone in the bay area have a helmet I could borrow for a day? I'm planning on going to the track wednesday and hoping to break into the 13s.
  4. Sounds like a lot of fun. Nice looking car too You should feel a world of difference between 10psi and 15psi. Try and get the EVO going down on tape I would love to see that. With your n/a bottom end, are you running the stock pistons with stock compression ratio?
  5. For the two stage boost controller you can get a WOT switch. Leave the line at maybe 3/4 throttle till you get traction at low boost then go wide open and you automatically switch to your high boost setting. You don't have to worry about manually fliping any switches.

    Got turbo?

    Thats a HUGE B17CH
  7. I just got my "trial" version of solidworks 2003 a couple weeks ago . Havn't had a chance to mess with it yet.
  8. Right now I'm just running one of those plastic vacuum tees for a boost controller. It's hooked up in line between the turbo and wastegate actuator with the T end open to atmosphere. Gets me 10lbs of boost with no spiking and cost $2.00. This was a temporary fix to get me 10psi when I stripped the hex bolt on my turboxs manual boost controller. I am planning on changing it to a grainger type controller but it's been working so good that I havn't gotten around to changing it yet.
  9. I'll sell you my 86 celica for $200. 3sgte is a common swap in 4th gen celicas. Goes in like chocolate in peanut butter
  10. bastaad....I'll let you know if jersey is an anomaly. I should be taking my car to the track sometime this month . I'm running basically a stock setup with a supra IC at 10psi in a 71 240. I probably won't run a 13.3 but it shouldn't be too far off. When are you going back to sears point Len. Maybe we could get some side by side runs
  11. Are you the same Cyrus that bought my blue '71?
  12. Your car will sit the same depending on the tire size you get. 235/40-17 and 235/45-16 are pretty close to the same height. With 17s you will have to run lower profile tires and the ride will be a little more harsh but I think there are more tire choices in the 17" size. If the rims are the same price, I would go with the 17s.
  13. I agree with sleeper. MKIII supras are pretty quick on the freeway but nothing a turbo 240 or a V8 240 can't handle off the line. Don't even worry about the twistys. If you are on a $3000 budget, a V8 or turbo 240Z is the way to go. RX-7 can built to go pretty fast but I'm not sure about the costs involved. 240SX with an SR20 would probably do the job but would put you over budget.
  14. I believe they are all non finned. I'm thinking you have a 3.90 too. You are out of first and second pretty quick. We should have some kind of betting pool on what gearing you have What rpm are you launching at?
  15. I would start with the book Maximum Boost by Corkey Bell. Plenty of usefull info there. Its a good idea to fully understand how the system works as a whole before working out the details. The stock ZX turbo is a t3.
  16. Congratulations on breaking into the 12s. You keep raising the bar for us stock t3 and efi guys. I almost made it to the track last night but I didn't leave work in time to beat the traffic. I wasn't about to sit in traffic in 90 degree weather for an hour. I'll have to get a few runs in soon to get a baseline for my car before I add any upgrades. How was the throw on the clutch pedal? Do you think it slowed you down any?
  17. With 14 teams of 3 it would be $119 per person. Make it an even $150 and put the extra towards prize money. Thats a pretty good deal for 8 hours driving time per person. I wonder how refueling would be handled?
  18. That price is pretty steep. I guess some people just don't want to go junkyard hunting. I got mine in a trade for my old muffler. I have the black seats with the grey center but I'll probably re-upolster them too when I get my car painted.
  19. I had a similar problem when I installed my clutch using the same part numbers as you. It was not fully disengaging. I ended up backing out the master cylinder rod a few turns. I also removed the rubber pad that stops the clutch pedal when it is fully depressed for a little bit extra throw. That solved my problem and it's been working fine ever since. As far as driving it in traffic, it's not so bad after you get used to it. I got caught in LA bumper to bumper traffic for about a hour and a half on the way to the MSA show but my leg survived
  20. That place is a blast. I like taking that last turn flat out onto the front straight. It is surprising how much of a cardio workout you get tossing those karts around.
  21. Are you sure they are custom made? I've seen pictures of a few different S130s in japan with the same kit.

    Clutch

I wouldn't worry about upgading the clutch until it starts slipping.
