  1. I used a NA motor with a 2mm steel headgasket to lower the CR to 8.35:1.....with flat top pistons and a FMIC you can easily run 1bar (14.7psi) boost and should be able to get 350HP. You may want to fit a turbo oil pump and block the relief valve.
  2. Nice! good to see another Zed on the right side of the road
  3. I was thinking about this the other day whilst trying to tune my car, would it be possible to wire a switch into MS which would cause the green cell in the VE table to freeze, this way when I get a flat spot, knock or bad air fuel I could stop and see which cell was causing it. Obviously this would require some code to be written.
  4. You need to process the signal from the stock sensor to give a 0v to 5v output depending on knock. Quite a few production cars have a signal processor that can be used to filter the signal from the sensor....Saab turbo's for one. http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/garage/6776/apc.html better link here http://www.mswanson.com/~jgreen/APC/APC.html
  5. try 2.68 software...use 2.25 megatune and 2.74 megalogviwer for reading logs. thats what I have running on my MSII with EDIS and Turbo.
  6. I've tried lots of different settings but can't stop this lean spike...any ideas guys? The problem seems to be when I accelerate in 3rd or 4th it starts to pink, if i push the pedal all the way to the floor it goes past the lean spot and richens up. should I just keep raising my VE numbers until it stops?
  7. Dave have you tried using X-Tau? to sort the lean spikes? I have the same probelm and no matter what I ste the AE for I still get a lean spot as I step on the gas, I've read XTau can help so I'm going to spend a few hours on it today.
  8. The audi tranny can take a fair amount of BHP/TORQUE. It does have a weakness though. My brothers race car strips 5th gear of all its teeth at around 470BHP!
  9. Ah right, that makes more sense...I will try that and see what happens. Thanks
  10. Here's what I would do, turn ego off by setting active above rpm high say 7000rpm. Aim for 11.5:1 under boost to be safe probably set everything below 100kpa to 13.5:1 to start with then decrease to 11.5:1 under full boost. Take it for a few drives with varied throttle...go easy at first. Run megalog and then use Ve analysis to sort you VE tables out. Turn you accel enrichment down until you get the VE table sorted. Can you posta pic of your ve table? I can send you a copy of my ve table as a .vex file whcih you can import into your MS easily....will get you somewhere near. What is your required fuel setting? PWM setting?
  11. Ok thanks so 62lb/hr x (52% duty cycle) / 0.6 x 6 = 322bhp...it certainly seems if it would be kicking out his amount of power....If i'm not to careful with the throttle I can wheelspin in 3rd! I will be winding up the bost to 15 psi soon so maybe I will be nearer 400bhp then.
  12. So on the wideband delay does 1 represent 1 cycle? i thought it was 1 second.
  13. I was wondering if it is possible to calculate a rough idea of HP by the amount of fuel flowing. I have 650cc injectors and at WOT in 4th my max duty cycle is 52%...indicating around 325cc's of fuel is flowing right? Mixture is around 11.8:1 and bost @ 10 psi.
  14. I was wondering about the amount of delay I should use on the wideband when using ve analysis....from looking at the logs it seems there is about .4 to .5 sec delay so should I use 0 sec delay or 1 sec delay...does it make much difference? I think setting the advance settings should also help...ie minimum and max rpm range .
  15. On the hatch seal side of things I found the seal of a 1990 volvo estate fitsperfectly. You need to cut about 2 " off one end and then join it back together. Cheap alternative to buying a new one.
  16. I have the elusive green stuff if anyone wants to sell me an LY!!!
  17. Well it must be working to some extent as I watched him race this weekend, he won his class 2wd turbo (3rd overall) 1st and 2nd were 600BHP Mitsi Evo's......4th was also a 600hp Evo.
  18. I dropped my fuel pressure to 2.5bar at 100kpa...sits at 2bar at idle and mixture is fine. I'm running 650cc injectors
  19. Thnaks Nienburg, may also help some future Megasquirters.
  20. can you post the mods here so I can double check mine is correct. Glad to hear you sorted the problem.
  21. So is there a cheap solution like putting a few drops of washing liquid in the rad?
  22. what type injectors are you running? I had this problem with my low imp injectors...Running a dedicated +12v feed to the power pins of both the injector drive transistors solved the problem. The mod is listed on the MS forum under noise mods. Also, have you used shielded cable for pip and saw?
