  1. braaaaaaaaap braaaaaaaaaap! there is no nissan part number for that thing
  2. Ok so, my dad was in the hospital for a couple of days... he immediately made a lightning fast recovers. he was walking around the house, taking it easy... but still getting around himself and taking his meds and whatnot. then he had a swollen foot. this was caused by the way he positioned his leg for comfortable healing. he causes blood circulation to be minimal in the way he sits on the couch cause of the femoral vein they used to repair his high pressure hoses... can't blame him... it friggen hurts! anyway. he was sent to the hospital and they did some stuff and it was ok. BUT that's not where it stopped. Today my father had his chest opened up again to remove infected tissue behind his heart, so basically the entire process over again. This is the problem with these surgeries. They can go amazing, but as soon as something comes up or the pain is back, they gotta pop the hood again and check the oil pump out, make sure no gasket material or coolant is in the sump. my father was smart to mention it this time, because he realized how close he came to being 6 feet under a bed of dirt rather than 6 feet above the frost line on a fluffy couch. He's pretty strong and he should pull through judging by what my mom says that the head surgeon said (not the best translator of english-to-english). But again, back to square one. I'm glad he's milking the OHIP system though, it's about time he's got back what he's put in for 63 years. I think I'm going to call Universal Records to see if they'll give my pops a record deal when he gets out and recovers. Heck, 50 cent probably got shot 9 times in the foot. Lets see him after being split in two! Sorry to be graphic guys, lol. Just how I is sometimes
  3. LOLOL that makes it quite clear. HAHAHHA. thanks for clearing that up Nzeder.
  4. Hmmmm..... well what you could do is get the part numbers in those threads ( i know those are there), and you can call any nissan dealership... what I would do is call the dealership and ask to speak to the parts manager or parts assistant manager. explain to them that there are plenty of nissans that check parts across the international database, and that you are willing to pay upfront for these items (its the only way). Once they know you're good for your word/money and you've bought a few parts, they will know you by name as the skyline parts person and they will not hesitate to check/order stuff for you over the phone. Just make sure you explain to them that they have to look in the international database or whatever it is to check in japan, and you MUST provide them with the part number as they do not have the FAST cd to look up the diagrams for you. total should be 160 + 30 + 5 for the pan, pickup tube and gasket.
  5. I think the Z metal wold be safe with a flange tool. but one gripe i have with the flange tool and repairing a panel on a civic quarter is that rust likes to start right where the flange meets the metal ontop.... if i were to use the flange too, i would do it in easily accessible areas from the back, and only as a temporary holding tab for the rest of the butt-joint welds. I would then use a miniature cut off wheel and remove the tab from behind once it is welded all the way around the rest of the panel. and then i'd lightly grind as best i could the inner panel, and then seal it nice. it's very hard to seal flange joints if you use them throughout the entire seam. the best you can do is paint the inside of both panels with weldable primer and then put a bead of body sealer on the backside of the flange/panel.
  6. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200356552_200356552 there it is! http://www.bossproducts.us/
  7. Clifton, there have been some copper substrate headgasket advancements with embedded ring seats that taper narrower just as they reach the ring that compresses down and outward to fill the gasket gap in which they taper creates. it's said to be just as good as an o-ring setup. when it's not used: --------------------------------__ |||| ___copper gasket_______---|||| <----compression ring gap ----------------------------^ when it's used and compressed: --------------------------------===| ___copper gasket_______===| <----compressed ring (expands) filled gap -----------------------^
  8. please plumb that exhaust out of the car. lookin great. love these projects and zees
  9. heres a site with some information on a black sealant that BMW uses on their throttle plates. http://www.westcoastriots.com/htmlfiles/obd1.html maybe you can contact them and ask them for a BMW part number of some kind, but I don't see why Kinsler wouldn't have something they can recommend.
  10. I don't think what tony was talking about was flexible, rather it was a top layer that fills in the imperfections on the contact surfaces and is buildable to form a tighter seal and not break off. I'd say the aluminized 3M coating is more in line with that.
  11. It should be a magnetic sensor of some sort. with 1-4 small magnets that are stationary within the unit, and one attached to a shaft that rotates passed the 4 magnets to produce a saw-wave. the shorter the saw intervals, the faster the unit is spinning. I'm not sure if it's polarized but I don't think it is.
  12. http://www.nismoparts.com don't be surprised if this thread gets canned, it's been linked in MANY of the threads, and you gotta be a bit more diligent in your use of the search function. EDIT: They are no longer selling the 200ZR pan or any of those parts for that matter. Try calling west-covina nissan with part numbers mentioned in some of the stickies, I know its' there!
  13. ok i just went through this two days ago. here's what I did. 1) buy a small socket extension, lets say 2 to 4 inches 2) GRIND OFF the top of the extension so the entire extension's engagement tip is flat from hilt to tip, not rounded like it is straight out of the package. That facilitates slipping sockets on easier. 3) if you have to, weld some shims on the extension. some 12 guage steel shims/spacers are great. weld them to the extension and grind it down to the size you need so that it fills the rounded hole on the fill plug. 4) heat the bastard up good, and have a spray bottle of water. The water won't be so much to shock the filler bolt because the aluminum will dissipative the heat before you're able to grab your bottle, but it will help incase there is a fire 5) breaker bar + extension + two people holding the car steady at the front and back so it doesn't shift forward and fall on you after falling off jackstands. 6) The forearm and chest of a god, or maybe a Titan. Thor is suitable. My filler bolt was on there so tight that I thought I was actually going to crack the transmission case and basically break the entire bolt/thread area. EDIT: FORGOT TO MENTION. my transmission was not on the car, so that's where step 5 comes in. As an indication of how tight these can get, I had to use a breaker bar and put my entire body's weight into the thing. YOU WILL NEVER be able to take this out with a screwdriver or anything smaller/thinner than a breaker-bar (3 feet long). Even the 3rd and 4th turn were harder than any bolt I've ever had the pleasure of removing. I used an Ingersol Rand QTi Titanium air gun in full reverse and it WOULD NOT BUDGE. Don't even mess with a screw driver. Don't bother welding anything to it just yet. Guaranteed you will either break the welds, or make it impossible to get off completely if that doesn't end up working for you and you've sealed the socket hold.
  14. +1 for one of the nicest cars on the site
  15. just about as clean as mine, minus the two badly welded rear quarters. same engine goin on there too
  16. lol, as long as you realize i didn't mean the GTFO for real. it's just thread-speak for HURRY HURRY
  17. sounds clips or GTFO!
  18. that them there be a spicer part number!
  19. thanks for mentioning that. my landlord and i were talking about shitty death stories the other day while working on the drywall for the basement. a lot of people don't realize that carpenters pencils are flat so that they don't roll. it'd suck to die by chasing a pencil off a roof. but I'll have to mention this one to him later today. sucks to go out like that
  20. seriously though, that's nuts. if I wasn't running longer runners on my project, I would consider it... I still might. hmmmmmm
  21. It's located in between the tool boxes, and the tool boxes themselves have been turned into fold up seats with polka-dot upholstering.
  22. kiwi, the copper ones are among some of the best because they can go down to about 0.020 in thickness, which is something a MLS gasket cannot do. they only go down to about 0.050, sometimes 0.042 inches. annealed copper gaskets are popular and are custom in most cases.
  23. nice scarpini's man! oh, and the added alu-spoiler is pretty awesome too
