  1. Northern Tool sent me a catalog that had a magnet that actually screws onto the base and is a magnetic pre-filter to the oil filter itself. looks good!
  2. ahahahaha. the bullet-ant warrior gloves of the S30 community, are they? i'll have to see if i have enough come sometime this summer.
  3. take a screenshot of the desktop and turn it into the wallpaper, and then disable desktop icons in windows xp. it's a hoot!
  4. http://www.filtermag.com/
  5. where does one look for this, and how much does it cost?
  6. one-hundred and eleven, Bob!
  7. wirewheel cup + corded drill > angle grinder + anything. I wirewheeled my door, and it took a total of like 20 minutes and it is so smooth! I also wirewheeled the rear of my car when I figured removing bondo with a heat gun and a scraper was taking too long. wirewheeled the poop out of the car and it cut through the bondo like butter. of course I then hit fresh, uncured 25 year old bondo at some point because the bondo was so thick and the proper hardner ratio was not used. surprise surprise!
  8. i've read of people using it for blocks and just end up machining or ordering parts that make up the difference. i've been told that the difference is like a standard and oversized bearing. so you'll be able to get the parts relatively easily. as mentioned before, some say they wouldn't build an engine without, others say you can't build engines properly if you need to use it. Toss up!
  9. I think everything will sound like a gorilla yelling down a bass-tube in a tunnel that cuts through a mountain. start with a lower psi though. no need to shoot straight for 18, you don't want to find out that on a 3.4 litre with 20 pounds being pumped in that your injectors suddenly give up. I'm thinking you're going to make anywhere between 400 - 500 whp.
  10. aside from power management in the operating system's settings, you can change some settings in the bios so that the cpu operates at a lower front-side bus speed when not in a 3D application or an application that demands more RAM capacity than CPU capacity. a laptop should give a solid 3 to 6 hours depending on the mixture of these two settings, both BIOS and OS.
  11. the worst part in knowing about these things is no matter how many times i try to warn my friends and family about issues like these, they freak out for like 2 seconds, and then they forget I ever told them. or the best one "its fiiiiiiiiine" with a huge grin on their face. kind of makes me worry, cause i love my friends and family!!! this is the equivalent to when italy won the world cup in 2006. i was downtown celebrating with what must have been at least 10 - 20,000 people ... and a bunch of police officers (one of which is my friend's brother), were arresting an individual whom a lot of us who live in that area know... and all for "no reason". it turns out that he had called in a bomb threat, but no one around knew that at the time, except for my friend's brother who told me silently. what if, infact, it was like a "ticking timebomb", as the news reporter described these tires? what if there was a bomb and it went off that day. PEOPLE DESERVE TO KNOW AND BE TOLD! sorta makes you wonder sometimes. CHECK UP ON PEOPLE!
  12. lol, yeah i don't know what I'm looking for either. here's the pinout we discussed this morning... I think i mentioned everything in the list of things to get. However I think I won't be getting the resistor pack for the injectors and I will need one of those or make my own. http://www.scribd.com/doc/1033517/Nissan-R33-to-Wolf-V500-pinouts-with-link
  13. LOL which episode was that? I guess I'll just take what I can get from the original engine, since it can't ship completely right now, and I'll just use it as is. another 2 grand in misc parts, here we go! I was hoping to get another S30 that I found just this saturday, and give my current one to my room mate, since he likes doing body work and I got the panels for him, but I might have to hold off on that. =(
  14. meh. you win some you lose some. but your current project is going to finish amongst the winners circle, so just don't let obstacles get in your way, and man up and take your stuff back!!!!
  15. me neither, i kinda wondered myself. LOL
  16. ill show you mine if you show me yours! HAHAHA. post up the BCA bearing, and I'll get the pics of the nissan one when i do my clutch (which is crossing the border today)
  17. nostalgiac_hero, i'd like to point out that what you've posted as reference to coatings and whatnot are taken from a BMW Z8 forum. sure, anyone with a BMW Z8 may have the money to spend on a surge tank with coatings from a lunar lander... Nowhere did roostmonkey say it was a final, and that it was complete in its entirety. I'm sure it would be a waste of money to coat something you're going to use for one season to test if you're only gonna bring it out for about 20 or so events, and not know if it will be the final anyways. not to mention that any he sells will most likely get even better treatment. I bet Pete is more than happy to run that on his car, as I would be. modifications = re-coat... start over = ridiculous.
  18. but the actual flywheel has 3 more empty holes as well. might want to fasten those down so the pressure plate doesn't deform, it happens under all that load! as for the "bearing cup", I meant the collar. so you're saying the nissan ones are better? i know that's the common assumption, but that's not always the case. I find that a lot of aftermarket parts like switches and even some sensors are made better by beck-arnley or ac delco. Right now I see that there are BCA National and Timken bearing collars with bearings. you have a BCA national and say the nissan is better.. hmmmmm. should I just keep my nissan bearing assembly and just clean it up?! possibly give the inside a quick 15 second hone too?
  19. hey man, back when I was 14, my father promised my brother and I that when the WWF/WWE came to Toronto, we'd go see it live. I don't even watch wrestling or TV anymore for that matter, but I've been waiting 11 years now....
  20. lol... gee thanks paul. so how many injectors? i think allz i need is the laptop at this point! no really though, I mean... IACV? Ignitors? Injectors? ECCS relay? I have no idea what the hell i need at this point, and i'm out a lot of money already =(
