good luck wit school....im finishin up my classes so i can start my MBA....ME is cool if u got friends to work with...if not it can be a pain! I found that out the hard way...i didnt realize how many engineers there are on this site...

yeah dash caps can be good...i had my friend tell my my dash was a dash cap...it was so unoticable to the common non z eye..

well personally i think u should go wit what u can find...i plan on doing a lsx swap somewhere down the line but i came across a 280zxt motor for dirt cheap so i decided to get some experence by swaping the turbo motor first just to get an understanding on troubleshooting swaps and wiring... then move upward to the lsx swap...but if u can find a donor car chevy for cheap...id say go for it!

looking for rust on a z car = check everywhere....but primarily check floorpans,frame rails,under battery tray,around tail lights, wheel wells...when u check make sure to throughly check...like really poke or hit the pannels to see if its metal or bondo...u will be able to tell the difference...floorpans and rails can be harder to tell becuase of the undercoat...i honestly havent figured a good way to tell without removing some of it...

wow interesting idea...seems like a big supercharger without the gas...doesnt seem like the cars would go very fast (highway speeds)...maybe if it was a rotory and acted like a windmill....just my thoughts

wow i didnt realize how many people started off wit 260z....i just go mine a month ago and now getting it to running condition...i luv the color blue on a z...i saw a sky blue z this weekend and felt like i was in heaven

i"m not sure how that would work...Some states are stricter than others...some allow just a bill of sale for the cars to regsiter the car...call the DMV to find out...but this is the least of the worries....rust is what u should be looking for... FYI: if you have 8 grand y not buy a z in better condition?

you would have to find a parts car that has a title and switch the vins over to your car...Or have the owner go to the dmv and get a new title..its not a big problem but something to keep in mind if u want to get the car registered. oh and um.... wash your car! jk

i wish my first car was a z...except for the fact that i live in upstate ny and snow :-/ it looks good for a first car...does it run..it kinds seem that it needs alot work for 1700...id say wait and keep an eye open...i see alot of cars poppin on zcar,ebay ect. in the south...

theres about a hand full car sites that i visit that are good by my standards... sr20forums.com 240sxforums.com and maxima.org ka-t.org hybirdz hybird is by far the most tech site of them all followed closely in 2nd place would be sr20fourms...3rd :-/ eh take your pick..

well i take that back...i must have the only faulty mech. fuel pump:icon56: ...some people run both for protection...if one fails the other covers the end.
