  1. Mike, I have a high flow filter before the pump (its basically just a screen). I can clearly hear the pump changing 'tones' as I drive. I can hear it change 'note' when I brake, when I accellerate etc....it's really loud!! I called MSD tech line and the guy said that they are loud and that I should try to isolate it some more. I'm just a little worried about this pump because it was so inexpensive (~$80). Tim
  2. I believe that there may be issues that Dan is working on.... http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=32631
  3. no such thing as rush hour anymore....rush hour is from 06h30 to 21h00 on the 405.. Tim
  4. Just make sure it is a freeway outside of LA....LA freeways are the same as surface street when it comes to stop an go driving....actually surface streets are often better than the freeways.... Tim
  5. All Mods and Admins are 5 stars, and I think members are automatically bumped to 5 when they donate to the site.....maybe Dan will chime in for the official ruling.... Tim
  6. LT1 (and LS1) guys please chime in here. I have the MSD pump fueling the LT1. It appears to be doing the job, but is getting louder and louder. I can now hear the thing over the exhaust!! What are you guys using? and how quiet/loud are they? I seem to remember reading that many were using the Walbro? How is it, which model #, and where is the best place to get it? Thanks, Tim
  7. Well, some good news for a change!: The Ins. adjuster stopped by the bodyshop and cleared the way for the work to begin and Quote:"Do whatever it takes to get the vehicle perfect!!" Farmers Insurance scores a perfect 10 with me!!!!
  8. WOW!!! after a year of TV, that's enough for a decent crate V8!!!
  9. John, I was kidding and I sincerely appreciate the offer.....really I do!! I have a 71 Cheyenne 20 that can tow, but I would have to rent a car trailer...... I hope the car will be done, but I'm not counting on it for fear of disappointment. Right now the car is sitting in Bellflower, CA. Tim

    Cowl Hood

Looks like it may be an ex-AZ Z-car hood.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2472082800 Tim
  11. Guys....it's out of my hands now.....the car is at the body shop.....Trust me..I've been working on this car for 4 years now, and I WANT to show it...I will do everything in my power to be there, but I WILL NOT show it damaged....I spent way to much time and effort to make the body perfect to show it in its current condition. Tim
  12. You would still want to use some kind of rust neutraliser first, or rust 'converting' coating like POR, or Hammerite. I don't think that the bed liner has any kind of rust prevention properties, so unless your car is COMPLETELY rust free now, then I don't think it's the magic bullet.
  13. Wow..$40 per month doesn't sound too bad. I only have broadcast TV because Time Warner kept jacking up the prices every few months...got to be $60+ per month for basic service...hell with that!! John, is that for multiple TVs, or just one, or doesn't it make any difference?....BTW....Direct TV is owned by General Motors, not FORD.. ha ha ha J/K
  14. If you wanted to get it there you would use the Ford... Hey now...let's keep this clean!!
  15. Tow my Chevy powered Z with an F350!!! OMG no!! Thanks, but it wouldn't need to be towed, and if it did, I have a Chevy to tow it It's out of my hands now......body shop has it.... Tim
  16. Yeah, as some above have said, try to find a better starting point. Sure it can be done, but unless you have a lot of time and all the fabrication equipment, and a lot of patience, you will get discouraged. With the amount of $$ you will need just to get that lump to a decent STARTING POINT, you could be miles ahead by just getting something with less rust. On the other hand, it can be done, and the sense of accomplishment by doing it will be fantastic.....just be ready for a very, very long project. Good luck.... Tim
  17. Watch his ears...he'll be deaf by 6 months with that high pitched open wheel scream.....
  18. I didn't even ask....I'm not counting on anything....it's not a straightforward job...not like they can just shoot down to the local Nissan dealer and pick up a rear panel for it....
  19. Well.....for the first time in 5 years, I am home and my Z isn't here Such an empty feeling.....
