  1. I pulled it off and then used a torch to burn off the fuzzy stuff that gets left behind.
  2. OK...new problem....when I refresh the browser, sometimes the pages is blank and it says "Done". I have to go all the way out to the Splash Screen (Owens rearview mirror graphic) to get back to the forums. Tim
  3. Doh!! looks like time to practice with the sawzall/cutting disk and welder!! Have fun
  4. Hey...all's fair in love and Junkyard wars Mcmastercarr.com should have them. Tim
  5. Pages load much much slower now though!
  6. Just ordered some ignition stuff for the 'Goose. Using tips from CamaroZ28.com, I contacted Jason Cromer at Sam Taylor Buick/Cadillac. I also compared prices with Summit and GMPartsDirect.com: 1994 OptiSpark: JC: $299.00 SR: $384.95 GMPD: $326.00 Coil: JC: $30 SR: N/A PMPD: $28 Ignition Coil Module: JC: $55 SR: N/A PMPD: $113.00 BTW, their water pump price is only $139.00....Summit Racing wants $195 Service appears to be very good. See how quickly it gets to me, but their shipping reputation is excellent. Tim
  7. LS1=No OptiSpark!!!! That alone is worth the decision!!!
  8. You flying into LAX, Jeff? Let me know...I live 3 miles away.
  9. Well, I finally got the new Bilsteins in. What a PITA to get the old ones out. The front right: had to remove the brake master to get at the torx head bolt!! But what a difference!!! Well worth the $$ and effort. It's like a whole new car!! Thanks for the advise, Jeff!! BTW AJUSA is great to deal with !! Their prices are great, and service is fantastic!! They shipped the wrong rears (shipping guy must be dyslexic, transposed a 9 with a 6 on the part number)....everyone makes mistakes, but it's how they deal with the mistake that sets them apart. They shipped out the new ones same day overnight with a shipping lable to ship back the wrong ones. Tim
  10. I mounted my optima right behind the passenger seat. With non-reclining Corbeau seats, it's a PITA to get to, but I don't need to do that too often.... I also have no 'under dash' accessories, no windshield wipers etc.
  11. Confusing is right, but then, Santa Monica is a Effed up place......as far left wing as I've ever seen any place. Not stopping for pedestrians as soon as they step off the curb is a great revenue generator for the city......
  12. Matt, I logged in with the code that you supplied and didn't see THAT much discount?! What gives? I will definitely order at that price!! Tim
  13. I'm using the L98 corvette grind. great for torque. I got the heads from Scoggin Dickey with the upgraded valve springs. Also read this: http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=1569&highlight=vortec
  14. You will need to to get a new intake as the Vortec heads have a different bolt pattern (although, I believe that Grumpy, in one of his recent posts said that the newer Vortec design could accommodate the older style intakes and valve covers)..... If you need to get a nice new aluminum intake, then it's not an issue. I have the Vortecs (with Edelbrock RPM performer intake and 750 DP) on my 71 Chevy truck, and they work nicely.....that motor pulls like a locomotive Tim
  15. Would it have killed you to post a link!!! http://hybridz.org/nuke/modules.php?op=modload&name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=lastup&cat=0&pos=0
  16. Mike, It's 23% discount. Looking at the site that system looks quite amazing!!! Very impressive. I might actually have to order some of this stuff just to test it out: http://www.americansteel.net/coolchem/rubber.asp
  17. In Santa Monica, CA (left wing, liberal capital of the world!!), the pedestrians have the right of way the minute they step off the curb---regardless of other factors....U hit 'em, you might as well kiss your 'Ay Ess Ess' (since this is Nic's post ) goodbye!!
  18. Maybe there would be some way to have the fuel pump set to run for a while after the engine shutts off, thereby cooling down the lines with 'fresh' fuel. Alternately, wrap all of the engine bay fuel lines with heat shielding tape: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=THE%2D14002
  19. Although this will only fix the symptoms, and not the problem, get one of these, mount it on one of the frame rails (verticle) and run some ducting ( the type used to exhaust clthes dryers, or something similar) to the intake (injectors). Then wire it to a temp sensor to switch on at a certain temp (with the engine off) and switch off at a certain temp, and to switch off when you start the engine. This will definitely keep your intake cooler. (finally a good use for the "electric turbo") Just a thought. Tim
  20. http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=32365&highlight= See what Drax posted.
  21. Keep in mind that the AZ Car ones are only toe adjustable in place. To adjust camber you have to remove the spindle pin. Not seeing Ross's in person, from seeing the CAD rendering it appears that toe setting could stress the threads on the adjusters as it appears that there is no pivot point there. Have to wait and see what happens after an installation and some 'run time'. Tim
