  1. John, You will need: 2 new shafts (shorter) 4 OEM Q45 shafts (you need 2 inner CVs for each new shaft) R230 diff R200 Mustache bar, redrilled Front mount Adapters. (These are being made by my machinist)....like I said above, a few folks are already using them, and are very satisfied. Actually one customer bought a second set for another big HP project of his......I will leave it up to him to comment on them if he sees this thread..... Tim
  2. These are completely new shafts, with the correct length splines on each end to accept the inner Q45 CV joints. The shafts are completely hardened (not just surface hardened like the OEM Q45 shafts). Speedway Engineering is a major supplier of shafts, sway bars and complete axle assemblies to Winston Cup and other race series. I just assembled my shafts this afternoon, and they fit the CV joints perfectly! Here is a picture of the complete units (Speedway supplies the shafts only, you still need to get your own CV joints): Tim
  3. Speedway engineering ( http://www.1speedway.com/main.htm ) now has them on the shelf. Their price is $175 per. Part numbers are: 0090-046 (12.437") (driver's side) 0090-046 (12.937") (passenger side) Just FYI...... Also, I have a distibutorship with Speedway, so I can get them for you a little cheaper, (along with the adapters which are in use by at least 4 people), but I don't really want to compete with Ross, so this posting is purely for information distribution.
  4. just be carefull of the point where the car turns from a learning experience to a full blown project. That happened to me....I was just going to use the car to learn bodywork....well I learned, but the car has taken on a life of it's own, and a wallet of it's own Tim
  5. I'm not a MS basher...as a matter fact I hold that company in very high regard.....just look what they have accomplished in a very short time. I think that eeryone is just jealous of the $$$ that it's raking in.... Tim
  6. I am planning to use a LT1 intake, converted for distributor setup (drill the big hole) and run megasquirt/spark on my spare 71 sbc, with some nice heads. Don't have anything to put it in yet, but it will be a project for experimentation with MS/S.... Tim
  7. Build for cubic inches. The whole rev quicker thing is a falacy. There was a long post about it a while back. Tim
  8. Like I said, swear word as in "Oh sh!t, I don't have any more go-F'in-fast money!!" ha ha ha
  9. Moderation!!! What the hell is that!!!....sounds like a swear word to me
  10. Pay the $$$ up front and be done with it. (no pun intended)
  11. Since it gets better as it warms up, check for vacuum leaks again. It could be that the expansion of the metals when warm is closing the leak. Tim
  12. YEah, just do the traffic school thing. Do it online. Very easy, cheap ($20 last time I did it) and the online Company takes care of sending in all the paperwork. Doesn't get much easier than that. Then you have to be a good boy for 18 months before you are elligable (sp?) for traffic school again.... It's been long enough for me, so I have a 'get out of jail free ticket' that I have been saving for the Z Tim
  13. Dude, I'm about half retarded and I can do it.....It just takes time and patience, which I have more of than $$$$. Calling me an engineer is a slap in the face to all engineers out there Tim
  14. Spend $20 on a auto electrical book, buy a crimper and wiring supplies and do it yourself!! Tim
  15. Check em again. If they are still tight, then fine, if not, then nip them up and check again after a while. Or, you could use some low strength loctite next time, at least on the ones you can get to easily. They should be ok now, but better to be safe and check again after a while. Tim
  16. Don't sweat it Bryan, I was only being facetious 8) BTW...it's a great beer!! (but I'm on Atkins ) Tim
  17. Welcome David!! Sounds like you have a good plan in the works. Good luck! Tim
  18. This is just flagrant inflation of posting numbers. 10 Lashes for you!! Tim
  19. Sorry Nic...It was posted in the Admin section. Problems with the server being over taxed...the ISP was having fits. Will be fixed with the upgrade. Tim Check that! Posted on the Non-Tech forum: http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=30313 Tim
  20. The quick release hub takes up the space on the inside of the MOMO hub, so no you can't do that. I am likely going to shorten the steering shaft, but it's not all that bad, so I may not bother. Tim
