  1. I don't see why you wouldn't trust it...the SBC is one of the most reliable powerplants out there. Just look at how many old Chevys are still on the road, and by the looks of some of them, have not had much in the form of maintenance either.... Tim
  2. Other than the novelty factor of having a Datsun V8 in a Dastun Z car, it seems like a complete waste of time, effort and $$$$. Replacement parts are going to be a pain to find, and HP improvement parts are likely non-existent.......so what's the up side....I don't see it... Tim
  3. I dunno, the flares are kinda nice! Just needs some nive wheels to set it off. I really want one of these cars to put maybe a SR20 turbo into. I might even sell the 'Goose.....(did I say that out load :malebitchslap: )

  5. If both wheels have equal traction, then both will react the same way. Try that with one wheel on loose gravel or dirt, or wet one side of the road and you will see the difference. Or, just pull the rear cover off the diff. Tim
  6. Your best bet is going to punch those engine designations into google or something. Z06 is a Corvette model, not an engine designation. The Z06 got the LS6 I believe. Quick rundown: LT1: Corvette, camaro, firebird, Caprice (iron heads): 5.7L and 4.3L from 92 to 97 LS1: Corvette, camaro, firebird:98 on TPI: Corvette, camaro, firebird: 80s to early nineties. Tim

    350 swap

Are you talking about swapping a 350 into your firebird? If so, you're on the wrong board.
  8. Mike...Let me know if you need some help. I used to do alignments for a living, and was very good at it... Tim
  9. 3.54 from the Q45, and from what others have posted, 4.11 from Z-TT
  10. Geez Van... You ordered your first Z the same month and year that I was born!!! I bet the 'purists' are crying about that Z getting hacked....but having seen it with my own eyes...it's gonna be a MONSTER!!!!!!!!
  11. Davy, Once you have the adapters, axles and have the mustache bar redrilled, it's only a 1/2 day job. Tim
  12. Hope you have a big cheque book Tim
  13. What is it exactly that you want done?
  14. Nic, There is one, and only one solution to the 2 am 'auto starts'. Delegate mechanic duties to the factory CEO. On a serious note....mine started sleeping throught the night as soon as we augmented the natural fuel with synthetic (formula) at the last PM feeding. Tim
  15. Like this?: or this?: Use the search words "wire looms" on a search engine....
  16. I haven't done anything yet, but I plan to just squeeze some silicone in there and let it set up. Tim
  17. When I was growing up my Dad named all our pets after parts vendors 2 cats: Isky and Engle 1 Sheepdog:Crane
  18. Have a party for all the neighborhood kids (charge a $1 cover charge ) and rent one of those jumping castles. When the kids are done, position the castle under the balcony and 'bombs away'!!! Tim
  19. Just be carefull......the timing is off from the factory and they tend to backfire through the exhaust and intake, usually spilling raw fuel or spent fuel and gas Oil changes are frequent and disposable filters are a must. The intake usually has no resonance chamber thus is generally pretty noisy, especially if fuel surging. Durability is low, thus many cool down periods are required. These will deminish as the break in period continues. And just like any beautifull sports model, just looking at them during cool down periods are a joy!!! Good luck and congratulations!! Tim
  20. Eric, What I've also done on stubborn floors is lay 2 pieces of 2 x 4 wood across the floor (from tunnel to door) and pound on them with a 10lb sledge. That is a guaranteed fix!!! Tim
  21. I found that standing on the floors with my upper body out of the car, and holding onto the drip rails and jumping up and down generally works well too. Tim
  22. Looks good Mike, except you are going to have to center bore the adapter to clear the stub axle nut and threaded section. It protrudes a bit on the inside. Otherwise looks great!! Tim
