  1. Phil!! Way cool man....will it be ready for the next BBQ? Jonzer12: have a look at my link in my signature if you want some ideas about starting with a blank sheet of steel. I would very strongly advise against it though. It has taken me way too many hours of excrutiating work top get everything straight. If you have a close look at the rear of a Z, it has a curve from left to right......very difficult to reproduce! Tim
  2. Sounds like a fun little project. I'm kinda partial to 13bTT, or GNX, or ....wait for it......... SBC!! Tim
  3. What do you need? Solid or flexible lines? or both? Give Earls a call, here in Los Angeles. The manager actually races a Z, so he knows them well! http://www.earlsperformance.com/html/index.htm Tim
  4. Mike, For as cheaply as you can find blocks in the JY, rather get a 2.8 block and go with a 3.1 liter. As they say, there's no replacement for dispacement (except for boost as many will argue). The 3.1 conversion has been well documented, and you should be able find lots of info here. Tim
  5. yup....your local steel yard! Tim
  6. The factory computer is easy to install and program. Tim
  7. Are they really cheap thin walled tubing? Maybe the air fuel mixture needs some attention....they should not get THAT hot. Tim
  8. Sorry livewire, I haven't looked at this thread for a while. Just like Owen says, except I got a 10ft roll of it from Pep Boys, with the adhesive backing. Works like a charm. Tim
  9. I used the Power steering pump as a pulley (pulled the internal veins). Then I made a adjustment pulley to go in place of the A/C compressor and then got a serpentine belt one size smaller. Tim
  10. JTR kit works fine. I used the JTR recommended radiator.....others will work. A/C compressor will not fit, so you will have to do something like another pulley in it's place. Other than the electronics, there are very few difference, except you get more firewall clearance with teh LT1 due to lack of rear mount distributor. Tim
  11. just do a search for CCW wheels on the net. Tim
  12. I got my solar charger from HF for 10 bucks. It kept the battery in the ZXT charged while it sat for 3 weeks waiting to get sold. It used to be dead after 10 days! Also, Summit has the Optima batteries on sale now for $90! Tim
  13. I believe he wants to make the airdam lower to the ground to keep air out from under the car. You would want something a little flexible for the inevitable speed bumps and dips. Tim
  14. Some have very successfully used the lawn trim stuff from home depot. It's 3" plastic and very tough. Tim
  15. Drop Van a line. He can give you some 1st hand experience. Tim
  16. That would be Phantom...1 post above you. Tim
  17. As for negatives.... If you ever throw or break a belt on a road trip, it won't be something that the local pep boys or autozone will stock. Keep a spare, then you'll be ok. Tim
  18. Davy, Van (240musclez) has the gilmer style belt running his alt and wp. Looks and sounds really cool!
  19. ha ha ha LOL....goes well with that tailpipe!!! Must be an OC thang!! Tim
  20. Try just tapping on teh carbs with the handle of a screwdriver see if you can loosen them up...works with a holley, not sure about the side suckers!

    exhaust help

Kurt, I deleted the second post that you started on this same topic. (maybe have a look at the HybridZ rules which is a 'sticky' in all of the forums). You may want to 'edit' your very first post in this topic and change the subject heading to more accurately describe your problem, or if you are unsure as to how to do this, let me know and I will do it for you. Tim
  25. The stock fuel pump shouldn't be able to overpower the carbs, unless you have somehow disabled the internal regulator (Not even sure if they have one of these), but that is all I can think of. I would install an electric pump (they're cheap) that puts out about 4 pounds of pressure, and bypass the mechanical one. Tim
