  1. If you look at the auto parts store or Home Depot, you will find a 2 part epoxy especially for plastics. It dries white in color. Works fairly well. Tim
  2. Please use the search function first: Here is a recent post: http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25628
  3. Damn Doug...I would be moving the Z to higher ground completely!! Good luck! Tim
  4. Send it to bowTieOverdrives for a HiPo rebuild. It will be bulletproof after that. Tim
  5. If you don't need the adjustability and space savings of the coilovers, then just get some lowering springs. Less work and usually give about 25% stiffer rate. do some surfing through this forum and you'll find plenty of info on both setups. Tim
  6. This should not be in the Chevy forum. Moved.
  7. Late 74 into 75 I believe. Tim
  8. Maybe it's just me, but that line of thinking (buy a cheaper motor now, and then a more expensive one later), is false economy. Why not just buy a decent crate motor right off the bat. Sure it's more expensive in the short run, but you will be way ahead in the long run. That $600 to $1000 it will cost to get a 'JY' motor to run nicely can be put towards a good crate for not much more. I guess it depends on how much you really want the 'instant gratification'?! 355HP ZZ4 crate: http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?action=prod_detail&catid=120&pid=117 Tim
  9. Do a quick search. This exact question was asked and answered about a month ago. I believe it was in the Fuel injection forum (?) Tim
  10. I figure it's about that time again. My place in El Segundo on Sunday November 2nd at about 11am? Plenty of grub, drink, and merriment to be had by all. Just drop me a PM or email ( THepburn@SempraUtilities.com ) if you plan to attand so that I can plan out an appropriate amount of supplies..... I will email the usual suspects offline, but all are welcome. Dan Juday....that blue bullet should be completed by then.....gonna take a road trip and show off to the bottom half of the State? Tim
  11. WOW, that's a heck of a bloodletting there Mike. How many stitches? Got pictures....battle wounds are cool Glad it turned out ok...I bet the lil woman was freaked!! Tim
  12. I think that, at the end of the day, it will be academic, because having the motor lower and further back is, by default a better position. That said, I think that it is a worthwhile (and to the best of my knowledge, never been done before) test. Do it. Even if the results are somewhat subjective, it will be interesting, and as said above, [this comparison] will be referred to for years to come. Tim
  13. That's exactly why I placed the disclaimer in the first line.. BTW...this is funny as hell: http://www.georgecarlin.com/ Tim
  14. Dan, I bet that you're going to be very paranoid of hitting even the smallest thing with all the front end pieces joined (bumper, spoiler, buckets etc) WOW, getting the bodywork and paint done was definitely worth the wait!! It's beautiful!! I didn't notice any pigs flying, BTW Tim
  15. OMG!!! I just ran outside to see if there was aerial bacon available!! Very nice Dan!! Tim
  16. I cut off the oem perches, but used the base of them for the threaded sleeves. The car is sitting a little high, but is not complete yet, so I will wait until it's on the road before I decide whether I want to grind them off completely and weld something down a few inches. Right now, I'm at the bottom of the sleeve with the adjusting nut, so likely I will have to anyway. Tim
  17. That's what I have...no complains here. Tim
  18. Try this: http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25652
  19. Check again....I'm in the Los Angeles 'Bay Area' Buy a gun from Harbor freight, some white paint, and spray it yourself. Assuming of course you have a compressor. 90% of all paint work is the preparation (sanding, blocking, filling etc). If you do all of the prep work, and mask it yourself, then Scheib/Maaco might be ok. Tim
  20. Do a search on the topic. There was a fairly long post a few weeks ago about Scheib and Maaco. I think that the consesus was that it depends on the individual shop, but in general they suck. Tim [EDIT] I did the work for you.... http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18913&highlight=maaco Tim
  21. Definitely put the car on a set of corner weights. I would be curious to see the weight distribution between the two modes of conversion. Also a 60-0 brake distance test. have a 'pro' driver take it around the track in both configurations and get lap times, and driver's subjective feedback (John Coffey, you there?) And, lastley, give some idea of any difference in 'ease' of maintenance of the engine (being able to get to the motor and accessories). My 2c... Tim
