  1. Ross, I am only relaying opinions that I have heard. I have had no bad or otherwise unsatisfactory dealings with you and have no ill feelings towards you at all. Please don't get me wrong. Tim
  2. Yes, make sure that when you put the TC on the tranny, you rotate it so that 'plops' into place. You may have had it pushing against the pump instead of having pushed home. hopefully you haven't damaged the pump or casing. Tim
  3. I contemplated deleting it (per your request, Brad), but thought it would be a good example that everything we hear, see, or are given should be questioned, and not taken at face value.......a good lesson to learn. Tim

    1971 Opel GT

I've been keeping my eyes open for a 'deal' on a Opel GT for a while now. Still haven't found the right deal. My plans (when the Z is done) is to drop a 13B into one. Should be a great little performer. Tim
  5. That looks like the Maxima caliper bracket, and early 280ZX rotors and calipers. Tim
  6. It's probably because Davis is from his own planet!! from a galaxy far far away where common sense doesn't exist and self servience rules!! Tim
  7. Ouch! Hey, at least I'm not as bad as Pete! I've only been at it for 4 years, so I'm 10 years ahead! BTW,,,all my jams are painted, underside of hood and hatch and inside of doors are all painted. The outside of the car will be painted in 2 weeks (my neighbor is doing the Encinada to Rosarita (50mile) bike ride on the 26th and 27th Sept, so it has to be the weekend after that (he works at a Bodyshop and is a Certified Body repair technician). So far, except for the sanding, filler and primer supplies, the paint work will be free!! I should be complete with the car in 2 months! Tim
  8. Mike, Tranny fluid does a lot, so if it's bad, a lot doesn't work. When the fluid is old and contaminated, it foams up easily, thereby losing pressure and it's ability to pull heat away from the tranny. Yeah, many times a batch of new fluid will make a world of difference! Tim
  9. That's fantastic, Mike!!! A great employer makes all teh difference!! I am actually headed to San Diego for an interview (different position in the same corporation). Your Co. isn't hiring is it? Tim

  12. I think that we need an 'Intervention' here!! van...you're out of control man!! :malebitchslap: Tim
  13. Don.... I got nothing from you!! I don't even remember you saying you were coming! Sorry man, but I did not receive anything at all! Tim

  15. Hey SD Guys... I'll be down in Century Park for an interview on Thursday 18th. Should be done by 17h00, and I definitely don't want to fight trraffic back to LA at that time of day. Anyone want to meet up for an hour or so? Tim
  16. On the news last night they had a reporter in one of those planes that fly through hurricanes (crazy bastards!!). Anyway, they measured winds at the 'eye wall' at 205 knots...highest in recorded history.....this ain't no baby storm boys!! Tim
  17. 1993 to 1997. 1993 is speed density. 1994 and up is MAF. 1996 up is OBDII I think I have all the years correct.... If you do a search for "LT1', you will find a wealth of info on this site. Tim
  18. Doesn't welding on the swaybar effect the temper of the steel? Tim
  19. Bob, I am putting a LT1 /T56 in my 73 Z. It is not on the road yet, but I also have a 94 Z28 (same drivetrain and model year as the 240Z). The flexibility of the engine is fantastic. I can drive around all day like an old granny and the car just rolls along smoothly. BUT...if I get on it, that thing will light up the tires through second gear. In the heavy @ss Z28 I get about 22 MPG if driving 'right', but I usually get about 17 or 18 mpg because I am 'on it' more often than not. In the much lighter 240Z, I'm sure it will get even better MPG, and will be even fiercer when 'getting on it'! Just food for thought.... LS1 would be nice, but does mean a lot more work to install. Tim
  20. I moved this to the correct forum and deleted the duplicate. It will make future searches easier if this info (once folks begin to post answers) if this is in the appropriate forum. Tim
