  1. Cool!! Gotta love the information age!
  2. Hey, thanks a bunch for checking it out, Doug!!! Last time I went to a Nissan dealer to talk to them about the whole R200 vs R230 thing.....I will never buy a Nissan/Infinity from those monkeys either!!!!!!1
  3. It looks like someone ate too much Taco bell, then let one rip when the dog was behind them!!
  4. Hmmmm....Interesting....but then why not the B23?
  5. Sorry man....speedo is MIA, but the tach has two studs, directly opposite each other on the back of the gauge.....IIRC, the speedo is the same....
  6. Thanks Bart.....looked through those....been a member for quite a bit...
  7. Mike, I remember reading somewhere that the fluids are 'backwards compatible', so D3 is an acceptable substitute for D2. Maybe a call to the service advisor at the Stealership to confirm?
  8. Bart, When I get home this evening, I will take a picture of the back of my old speedo and mail it to you.....at least you will know where to feel for it (without the aid of a patch of hair )
  9. Doug, Do you know: Does the 3RZ engines bolt up to the 2x4 2RZ trannys?
  10. Yeah...we use man sized materials!! I think it is referred to as "compensation", but I never knew what they meant by that!
  11. ha ha ha : 2 parts RedBull, 3 parts RockStar and 1 part 2 day old coffee = a very creative HZ'er
  12. Doug...hard to come by and very pricey. Wayyy overkill too.....remember, this is a tiny car!
  13. Awww...come on Jon: Over-engineer and under-utilize!!
  14. Alex=killjoy!! Go soak your foot hopalong!
  15. Like I said...this is not a hot-rod, so HP is not a consideration (well, it always is, but I am trying to convince myself that it isn't).....at 1800lbs, even 150hp will make the little thing a rocket....driveability and reliability is a more pressing concern. I love the FE3, but parts are just not as easily attainable as the KA......and initial buy in will be higher.....tough decision.....
  16. YUp!! That's it in a nutshell....thanks for the paraphrase!
  17. The engine bay is tiny. Unless I cut the radiator support, there is no room, plus I don't want any additional weight hanging off the front end. Inline 4 is really the only choice without cutting the bay apart. Several guys have successfully done the Chevy 60* V6 swap, but I want to do quick and dirty...this is not a show car or engineering endevour.....that's what the Z is for......which I want to get back into....she's getting lonely If parts for the 1.9 were more readily available, I would just keep it, but to have to mail order parts every time you need something is a major PITA!!!!!!
  18. [Flame Suit on and buckled in] Although this is a pretty dumb @ss idea, the execution on the 'kit' and the work to make everything line up, is pretty damn well done.
  19. The little thumb nuts on the gauges are sometime very tight from the long time since they were moved. IF that is the case, there is very little room to get a pair of pliers or vice grips in there......that means removing the dash.....
  20. Yeah...the KA is a dime a dozen at the self serve yards, and that makes them very attractive. I love the FE3, it is a great motor and has a variable flow intake which works really well, but will likely not find a Sportage in the local yards. I am waiting for a quote from my contact at LKQ, but the KA is looking more viable..... Anyone know how 'stand alone' the engine controls harness is from the main chassis harness on the 240sx? Otherwise, I guess I could just MegaSquirt it, but the OEM would be quicker/easier if the harness is pretty self contained....
  21. I looked at the 2.3 and was originally going to do the Turbo Coupe conversion...until I saw the weight specs on that engine.....it weights more than a SBC!!!!
