  1. Try this site if you haven't already heard of it.. http://www.vishnutuning.com/bb/forumdisplay.php?forumid=6&pagenumber=1&sortfield=lastpost&sortorder=desc&daysprune=60&x=8&y=11
  2. Hey, thats great!! sometimes you have to step back, scratch your head, think for a minute then dig into it...
  3. you mean Fred told you it seemed like a ground problem? I swear I seen where someone else made that diagnosis first to you... hehe...
  4. Well rags.... what did you end up finding out to be the problem with yor TEC2 ?? just currious..... joel
  5. I was affraid someone would say that.. I've already showed my ass then. I told the guy that that sensor was not the right sensor to use with the w/b. I had my car on his dyno last month and the w/b was not working. It was flickering up and down, so I assumed he had the wrong sensor... doh!! I did see that the pigtail did not allow the wires to swivel while tightening it into the bung, so needless to say, the wires were frayed, hence the bad connection ??
  6. I have a question... I was pokein around yesterday in a local Dyno shop, and noticed while looking at the wideband sensor that it looked just like the regular heated sensor I'm using with my TEC2. It only had 4 wires (gry, blk, 2 whts) There was a "wideband" black box that it hooked to with a detatchable pigtail. I could have swore I've seen somewhere that a wideband sensor has 5 wires ?? Are their 4 wire w/b sensors?
  7. Just to be sure, You do know all the little do-dads that need to be installed to complete the swap from auto to 5spd? I'm not inferring you don't... just askin. good luck with it.
  8. Sorry, but I can't answer your question... But may I suggest trying the search under that topic... who knows it may be in there.. good luck
  9. We have a member, "TimZ" on this board that is a TEC2 wiz. He may be your saving grace when he checks in. Maybe he could chime in and give you some pointers....
  10. I would be damm proud to drive around with those painted on the front of my Z .... That looks
  11. Brakes? What brakes? And no' date=' the rear tires are completely inadequate for the task at hand. 400 hp, a 3,500 rpm stall speed, and rubber that skinny would be damned scary on the street.[/quote'] Speaking of brakes.... I didn't see mention of what the upgrade was on those. I seriously doubt that was overlooked.... That Z is completely
  12. this was my old set up: this is my current set up with the TWM's and SFP T4 header:
  13. What would you take for it Tony?? I'm curious if my 88ss VLSD shafts would plug into it..
  14. I sure would like to see one real pic of the unit. All I could find is drawings... Did I miss where to click to see a pic ?? It sounds good, I'd just like to see one.
  15. crap... they didn't come out so sharp. If you need better pics, let me know and I'll put them in better light.... good luck joel
  16. I just ran outside and snaped these pics, so I hope it helps... One is showing both, the R200 with matching halfshaft on top of it. Another shows the R180 with matching halfshaft with the bolt through the center to fasten it in the diff. The last one is a comparision of the two side by side.... I hope you can see the differnce
  17. Take a look at this thread. James explains what parts are used... Posted: 28 Mar 2003 10:24 Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is the specific information to do the VLSD swap ***Input shaft(diff)- must use from VLSD ***Cage(diff side)- #175 cage(from VLSD) ***Race(diff side)- #174 race (from 80-87 AMC Eagle 4WD 4cyl) ***Shaft- OEM Replacement Axle # 87-7699-0 (from 80-87 AMC Eagle 4WD 4cyl) (from 80-83 AMC Eagle 4WD 6cyl) ***Complete Tripod(wheel side)- # 87-7801-0 (from 80-87 AMC Eagle 4WD 4cyl) ***Tripod Housing(wheel side)- 280zxt So, using the AMC shaft the #174 race is placed on the shaft for the diff side and is compatible with the #175 cage. The complete tripod from the 80-87 AMC Eagle 4WD 4cyl fits onto the shaft and is also compatible with the 280zxt tripod housing. Whala....you have the shaft that works. The shaft is 13" long. As I said before you will want to use the 240z stub axle with the 280zxt companion flange and the passenger side will require a .5" spacer. Good Luck.
  18. Doh.... that would be a rare ratio wouldn't it ?? The 3:54 LSD I have is a 10mm R200 that I inherited with my 260. I will hold onto it so I can play back and forth with the ratio as needed....
  19. Well I just received my Hybrid CV's from James 240twinturbo. They turned out very nice as expected. I had a scare with the post office loosing them for a couple weeks, but everything worked out and I'm now ready to swap out my R200 3:43 LSD to the 3:7 VLSD. This set-up makes it a bolt on using the 81-83 turbo companion flanges, or in my case since I already have the CV adaptors welded onto my 280 stub axels, so I don't have to do anything but swap the diff and the matching CV's..... thanks james
  20. I would imagine thats a 10mm bolt ring gear, right? I do remember seeing those for sale on Ross's site. But I don't remember what size the bolts are. I thought I seen a discussion about making shims for the bolts for 12mm carriers....
  21. Can anyone in the know tell me if these stubs out of a R200 VLSD Infinity would work as far as pluging into my R200 VLSD out of the 88 white ss zxt?? I'm having a hell of a time trying to match up something that will plug into this diff. The length looks fine, it's just the spline pattern that throws me. Has anyone heard of another stub that will plug into this hard to find diff. I've searched the archives with no luck. PLEASE won't someone help me out here...
  22. Well, I just finished up the mount swap. Here are a few pics of the RT brace and the TH350 trans mount on it. If you look hard enough, you may see what was said above about the emergency brake peice being close to the bolt that holds the new mount. I also had to remove the spring, but everything else was fairly simple...
  23. Damm.... that seems like it would be a rare option..... a 4 spd ?? Who would want to order that ?? I didn't think the 4spd was used that late in the run.
