I can't see how these flares wouldn't get torn off by the tire on the first good bump, or dumping of the clutch. Mine rub occasionally and they have quite a bit of space between tire and bamf flare.

I'm pretty sure it's been done by someone here. It has been discussed here in depth, along with many other choices. Should be able to find some discussion threads in the archives. I like the lights to ...

The question was; " Hi Guys, Does anyone have any idea what the possible cause of this is? " Detonation may not have actually done all that damage, but I guarantee you it was the cause of the damage. Below is the head I pulled off the first rb26 I bought, and it was trashed just like OP's. When I opened it up, most of the chambers looked like this and there was little BB looking bits of melted alum in the cyl bouncing around. The cause was severe detonation that melted the piston crown / ringlands, which caused pieces of broken rings/ ringlands/ moultin alum to help do the damage.

Two of the cleanest engine bays I've seen... kudos...

glitched, Please relax and try not to get to miffed at some of the responses you get from some guy's in a thread like this. If you can over look the perceived sarcasm you will definitely learn how to improve your numbers on the motor. There is a wealth of knowledge here. You just have to learn how to get it out of these guy's heads with out getting pissed off first...

My AutoMeter 2 5/8 gauge slid right in the hole perfect once I removed the vent.

Pretty much... I did have a piece of wood that I placed @ 12 , 3, 6, and 9 o'clock as I tapped it, working around it as I go, just to be sure it seated all the way down.
