  3. I thought after the change made during the very early 240z's trans mount attachment style, they were all the same after that? Have you looked yet to see if it has the late style (horizontal bolts), or the early (vertical) style mount?

  5. Quick question: are there any case numbers or quick identifying features I can use to determine if this diff is a LSD vs. an Open Diff? Not that I ever heard of... All Z32, TT and N/A models came with a VLSD. The diff with input stub shafts that have 6 bolts is the R230 3:69 ratio VLSD. The diff with 5 bolts is the R200 4:10 ratio VLSD. Both are short nose.

  7. Hey, we all had to start some where! I think its looking good for you so far @ 16. My 'ol Z looked pretty much like yours at one time. Matter of fact, I had the same "Cartech" set up at one time (I had ITB's though instead of carbs). Just concentrate on getting it road worthy first, before looks....
  8. That diff is a short nose R200 VLSD with a 5 bolt star bolt pattern on the diff stub/input shafts. You will have to buy some parts to fit that, or any short nose into your 240. There are two places I know of to gather up the needed parts. ModernMotorSports, and TechnoToy Tuning. This info, and tons more on this swap can be found in the drive line section. Check the stickies at the top of the front page in that section....

  12. Well, a little progress to show. I got all the holes drilled for one tower, and fully installed it. The other side will get drilled this eve. It's already 98 deg out side with 100% humidity... I will be changing the canopy cover this fall, to a wider/taller car port, so I can lift the car to the lifts max height (53"). As for now, I will prolly only get 3 feet or so..
  13. The RB does not come with forged pistons stock. I personally think the 2jz is a more refined/stronger motor. The SR is a sweet little swap too...
  14. Is the clutch slave in front of the T/O arm or behind it? In front = push, behind = pull.
  15. Well, my MaxJax lift arrived today. My next door neighbor helped me slide it off the 18 wheeler, into my pick up truck bed, then I drove it under my car port to un assemble the package. I have it 99% put together to where it's read to wheel out side and drill the holes into the concrete. There is quite a bit of nick knack stuff to be . They send all the hydraulic fittings for installation. At least most have Teflon tape already on the threads... I will follow up with more pics once I get it bolted down and raise my car up.

  19. The 240z strut housing tubes are smaller dia than the 280z. The lengths are the same IIRC. You will have to search further, or wait till some one who knows for sure on the generic threaded collar question... sorry.
  20. This is the R32 oil pump showing the damage on the pump gear, due to the small drive flat on the early R32 cranks.
  21. Still waiting on delivery. I've never had this long a wait after paying for something. It was on back order though. I'll update when it arrives....
  22. That looks wicked bro!! Once my car lift arrives, I will be swapping out my whole front and rear suspension, including sectioned struts with Illumina 5 ways. I hope to get the stance to look as great as Yours does. I will be finally cutting the fender arch's, to utilize the ZG flares to their max. Looks like your rear ZG's are a tad higher than most put them. Did you measure off any certain area on the rears, so they both came out exactly the same height? Once again.... Awesome job!!!
