  1. The Sonnet is one of the mosr peculiar cars ever made....I have a feeling there will be collectors items in the near future, hold onto that one, as its in great shape. Yasin
  2. Guys - I had huge problems with my '78 280Z when I first acquired it. It had been sitting in a forest for just under 15years and would ONLY run on starter fluid sprayed into the intake. I changed the fuel pump (bought a new one) and that did not address the non-starting issue...I then connected the new fuel pump to a milk jug full of gas (by-passing the gas tank) and sure enough the car ran like a champ! So I confirmed my belief that the tank was full of crud and junk. Upon removing it (which is not hard by the way), sure enough it was full of rust, deposits and lots of un-friendly looking things! Here is the tank when I pulled it: I called around a new tank is no longer available, so I decided to have a local Mom and Pops Radiator Refurbish shop here in town boil it for me. They boiled it in a Caustic Soda bath (tank) for me for 2 days and then pressure tested it for me. It came out looking brand spanking new on the inside...night and day - I am talking whistle or surgically clean! They charged me $115. While the tank was being cleaned, I blew 115psi of air through all the gas hard lines (where the fuel filter is located) with my compressor and there was alot of crud that came out the other end - Rust and sludge and crud, so I also recommed this for anyone having fuel delivery issues. I then went ahead and wire brushed the entire tank, prepped it and painted it and at the same I thoroughlly and carefully cleaned the fuel sender (as the gauge never worked). I also wire brushed and painted the gas tank straps and installed all brand new rubber hoses and clamps and the end results: Total cost about $130 (boil and refurbish tank, paint, new rubber hoses and clamps) Installation back in was straight forward and the fuel gauge now even works. Just thought I would share. Regards- Yasin
  3. Guy - Never thought I would like the look of 18s on a ZX but now you have me re-thinking.....I am guessing those are probably are +30mm if you can get away with just a 20mm spacer in the back? Looks great. Yasin
  4. If you don't buy that car for $3K you would be a silly boy! That is a smokin' deal, and somebody has gone to great pains to pay great attention to detail. $3K on mods can go by VERY quickly on these cars. DO IT! Yasin
  5. KTM - Your car is truly killa....I love it....! Two thumbs up from the Slow 'N' Rusty Camp! Yasin

  7. Thanks for posting that! But JeffP who wrote the article was overly harsh on my car...which to this day I tease him on... My car has really evolved since that article. Yasin

  10. Afshin and I kept in close contact as his red 280ZX Turbo was the sister car to my white 280ZX Turbo. We used to love hanging out at MSA together too. When he still lived in SFrisco we spoke regularly (email and telephone) and when he moved east to be with family, I lost contact of him. Hoping that he sees this post and we can get back in touch. 16. Awesome pictures and very interesting...sometimes we forget how diverse a company Nissan is, with their multiple engine platforms and configurations. Thanks for sharing. Yasin
  17. The SLC is not the prettiest Benz Coupe...but that one is gorgeous...the Riken wheels are plain siiick...and having a 2JZ is amazing. I agree with the others, the IC is out of place. Having worked on SLCs, the nose does not give much room to place t a front mount IC unfortunately. You can tell its in Thailand, home of some badass engine swaps. Yasin
  18. Guys...in your opinion which is the better Turbo header? 1) The blue one is the SFP Manifold 2) The other is a classic old skool Greddy piece. Both are well designed and will be a huge improvement over stock but what are your thoughts? Thanks and regards - Yasin
  19. Wow very coooool. A very creative use of an L series in a ..I have a friend who has a SR20DET in his Samurai and I have posted pics of it on here before. Yasin
  20. Guys - A few months ago you will will remember I rescued a 280Z that had been sitting in a Forest for almost 15years. The car had an interesting story, as my friend who is a Mechanical Engineer, had emigrated to Shanghai and has no intention of returning to the U.S and he left the car's at his parent's 10 acre property in the Forest. His folks were tired of seeing the car and were going to crush it this Spring. They called me and I could no bear to have this car crushed so I literally dug it out and brought it home. Sooooo...I wrote to Classic Cars in England (one of my favorite magazines) and told them the story. I totally forgot that I had written them until the Editor emailed me to say that I had won their "Discovered" story section and the car will be featured in their August edition, a few days later I received a check for $200 as well! I was honored and I am excited. Thought I would share. As for the 280Z it is actually running (and running well) under its own power, I have really spent alot of time and about $400 on it so far, today I actually take it on its first maiden voyage around the block. Here it is when I rescued it: New floors being welded in: Work continues! Yasin
