  1. Yep, I was shocked that he asked if we were going to get it tonight. I need to see if it really runs and drives.
  2. ...211 miles round trip ...3 hours and 45 min of time ...2 repairable but rusty fenders ...both doors shot ...rear hatch shot ...driver side floor board bad ...battery tray fist size hole through fender well ...half dollar sized hole in fire wall ...light rust appearing on the rear quarters ...ALL tires shot ...would only start with ether and would barely rev above 2K ...not driveable needing towed ...someone drilled holes in the hood because they were too lazy to fix the latch $500-800 to keep maybe, $1200 no way. Worth the trip cause it could have really been clean. I told him if he couldn't sell to call me back. Some sucker will buy it. Oh well, I'll keep searching. It was better than the 71 I went and looked at for $2500.00.
  3. I'm going tonight! Got the wifes permission, she knows it is a sickness. Hope it is as clean as he says.
  4. Similar one didn't sell on ebay for 2800. Granted paint is better. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-1974-Datsun-260z-Nice-car-ready-to-run_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQihZ012QQitemZ220179491844QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW I'd be happy just making 800.00 to flip it.
  5. Little to no rust, dual webbers? Runs good, etc. Haven't seen it or driven it but thinking of just getting it to flip? Thoughts...
  6. Is the balance tube from a 71-72 car? Are you keeping the flat top carbs? Where is the insulator between the carb and the intake?
  7. I thought car fax was only good from 81? and up? The vins aren't long enough for Z's. I thought you need 17 #'s or so.
  8. Wow, that Toyota really was in bad shape. I'm shocked they would undertake such a restore. It looked like an orginal rally car, so I guess that gave it the value. Those seat belts really need to go in the Model A. It was beautiful until I saw those. I'm assuming money is no object when you pay for a restore like that, wow, incredible.
  9. I stumbled across this car, it runs, needs brakes bleed. My thought is holding it for 3 years until my son is 16 and fixing it up for him. V8 - Auto RS model. Can anyone tell me if they have any experience with this car? Good, bad and the ugly? Why I shouldn't get it and hold it for 3 years? They are tanks from my memory. My buddy totaled his into a wall and walked away without a scratch.
  10. Warren, Jeff from Orlando, good talking with you. Glad you got rid of most of it! At least the valule parts!
  11. Nbesheer, where is your Puple blood? I'm a FedEx employee and love what I do, but I'm in IT (computers). Make a suggestion. Granted, we F_Up from time to time, but do a rate quote on most things and we are cheaper by far. I got screwed on a lost package, but it was only $35 so not to many worries, FedEx is really the best, most time sensitive, cost effective company out there. Please use FedEx when you ship.
  12. I'm looking at a fastback right now. What are they worth in REALLY bad shape?
  13. I want to see vids where the suspect ALWAYS get away. Like the movies.
  14. At least be gratefull your in a place where you can enjoy it. Florida don't have shite compared to CA. It looks good though, what did you end up paying?
  15. Just hold out or store her, it is a Z after all. Again good luck.
  16. AMEN brother. I'm always amazed at people who bid on auctions before hand. 99% of the time I wait until the last 15-20 seconds to bid on an auction. I'm on pins an needles, but it definitely works. What's good about it is it keeps me from going bid crazy. You only have 1 to 2 bids you can ever put in. I bought Zgads old car that way and much more.
  17. Nothing against you naviathan, but how is that insulting? Free market makes the price on EVERYTHING. It is his money. I haggle everything. As a buyer if your not willing to work with me I move on. I had a deal not to long ago about a hot tub. It was AWESOME for 2500. I offered 2000 which wasn't too low but again it was a very nice tub. He gave me all this song and dance about how he's in been in sales for 25 years and refused to negotiate. My wife was like get it and I refused. Long story short, as a buyer WE often don't NEED things, we WANT things. If I NEED something I generally end up paying the cost, do to the need, but If I don't I always low ball. It is amazing what you can get just by asking.
  18. I understand both sides. I'm very cheap on most things. I usually insult people with my offers, but then again, it is MY money and we all have the right to spend it how we please. I've been told more times NO then yes, but have held out many times to get the deal. Just hold firm or ebay it. If it's as decent as you say it should bring at least 1000 no?
  19. I cut and paste from the site, but it is good to know.
  20. Since I wrecked the front of my Z along with the flares, does anyone have just a set of fronts laying around they don't want or want to get rid of cheap? Seams you can only buy them in sets of 4.
  21. First Post, Hybrid donater and I haven't a clue what you said, but welcome! I'm going for #3....
