  1. I have questions on some wires from a 73 240z. I looked at the wiring diagram from this post and my smashed 240z I have still electrically intact and determined the following (I think), please correct if wrong: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=100402 Coil Wires 1=Resistor (wire appears black) 2=Green / White – Other side of resistor 3=Black - Neg Side of Coil 4=Black / white – Positive side of coil Dist/Therm wires 5=Black - ?? I think this was a ground on the distributor? 6=Yellow - Thermostat 7=Green - ???? No ideas either 8= Back / Yellow - ?? This may actually black and white but picking up color from the yellow. Where does this go? Points on the distributor? My New car has a MSD coil and MSD 6AL wired through a newer 280zx electronic distributor. All the wires above were hanging off the new car. Tach is not working nor the thermostat. The smashed 240z has a newer 280zx electronic distributor with a stock coil and all the wires are hooked up except for 5, 7 & 8. For the new car, I was thinking to hook up #6 to the therm and #4 to positive side of coil to get my tach working. 4 is the tach wire correct? That gets +12 from the coil correct, not giving +12 to the coil? And #3 is not needed for the tach to work correct? I don’t have to go through the 6AL to get the tach to work, but I think that is an option it has? Can someone tell me what wires #5, 7, and #8 are for? Just for knowledge at least?
  2. Looks like I found my answer in this post thanks. Should have searched first. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=119492&highlight=return+line
  3. The top tube in red is the return line on a 73 tank correct? Thanks!
  4. Oh Boy! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissan-200SX-240SX-280ZX-Turbo-Simulator-94-98-00-02-04_W0QQitemZ230220395941QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item230220395941
  5. LOL! I read this to my wife. She didn't think it was funny.
  6. Try to find someone local who can go look at the wheels he's selling now. Have the looker get as much info as possilbe when they meet. Tag #, description, maybe where he lives.
  7. Note: I'm not dissassembling the carbs. Just cleaning the grime off the outside.
  8. Any harm in cleaning the carbs with laquer thinner? Carb cleaner is expensive. Laqure thinner cuts the grease so well. I've finally motivated myself to start working on her again. The carbs are off the car and all the holes are plugged. I had tripples ebayed them and have tunned SUs already from my wrecked car for a temporary solution to get my car up and running until I switch over to FI.
  9. I'd bought it in a heart beat at $400. Good find in my opinion.
  10. Yes, I saw that last night. He's nuts not breaking it up. At a miniumum he should just take the carbs out and sell those seperately.
  11. That is pertty cool! I skipped right through it.
  12. I hope this doesn't turn political. Anyway, I've heard if the earth axis was 2-3 feet off either direction of orbit, we'd have like a 50 degree difference in our current high and low temps.
  13. Geese, why so glum. Our high is a cold 73 here! I'm so glad I took the day off.
  14. I shoot for Wednesday nights and some Saturdays. You'll find the balance. I started into Z's in 89. Played with them for awhile until 93 and sold most everything when I got married. Got back into them about 1.5 years ago again. I just think you need to balance it out a little.
  15. Has some skill. Now check out Jason Shulman with no wires.
  16. I hope your okay and glad your to the point you can type about it. Good thing it wasn't the Z. I say they will try to fix it. I've heard, that if both air bags deploy they will total it. That may be a rummor though. Get detailed pictures and make notes on what is messed up other than the obvious. If anything was broke before the accident blame it on this accident. You deserve something for your trouble. I had a motor mount from a wreck that I saw was bad. I scribed a big X in it and sure enough they didn't fix it. When i went to pick up the car it was still on. I pitched a fit and they replaced it. Looking back I would have marked more parts and took better pics. I traded it in not to much longer after that. I know that feeling your describing. Good luck, and at least your alive.
  17. You are the man! That whole sentence made me cringe!
  18. I'm in SW Orlando a few miles North of Disney. Food wise I can't think of anything you wouldn't have in CA. I've been in this area for close to 30 years. To me Orlando is pretty diverse. You always have your bad areas but people are pretty mixed together (race wise). I'm in a 300-500K neighborhood and we have a pretty good mix, in my opinion. I4 traffic sucks. Stay away from it if you can. Spacecoast is good, but not a lot to do. Much slower pace. You have kids? Wife? Orlando has it's areas of hillbillyness. Some of these people are just useless. WHen you run across one you will see what I mean. There are lots of nice areas. It all depends on how far you want to drive and where you work. How long you in town for?
  19. You have the Flat top or round top carbs? If flat, why not upgrade to the round. You can find deals on ebay from time to time. I got my last set for $51.00 for everything.
  20. Y ou need to say a little more. Is this sports related? I don't do sports.
  21. I'm not a big scary movie fan; is it more scary or more suspense. Sorry, don't mean to sound like a puss, but i've never liked scary movies. I do like teletubbies though!
  22. I was curious if they did that. My other question was did he do all the driving.
  23. LOL! Your wife and my wife must be best friends!
  24. I missed this some how. Yes If I got 200, no considering I got what I did. I should have held off a little longer to sell it. Week of XMAS was probably not the best time. Some spray can stuff. I forget. It did come out very nice though.
