  1. WOW! I really like those arms. Can your machinist make me a set?
  2. thumperz , try searching for a member here by the name of "Phantom" He had an ls1 installed by a garage. I think it was "john's Car's" or somthing like that? Out of texas. Give that a try. 8)
  3. Hi Tim240z, Billz260. The fuel cell from ATL it's called a"well cell" it's the 12 gallon version. I first saw there ad in "GrassRoots Motorsports Magazine". Tim,I was shooting for the end of november to get it done, but that came and went. Now with the holiday's here I'll probably get it done by the end of January. It would be great to get together for a BBQ. Thanks for the encouragment guys, god knows I need it.
  4. I just added 8 more picture to my yahoo album. I just need to do the wiring and the interior. YAHOOOO!!!! Finally seeing light at the end of the Z tunnel. I figured out the power steering pump mounting. I used a ZOOPS long power steering bracket wit the the MARCH serpentine setup. The high pressure hose and fittings was a little troublesome. but I finaly have it all hooked up to the miata P.S. rack. I need some encouragement for the final stretch. http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/graphequ@pacbell.net/lst?.dir=/zcar&.view=t
  5. I went through the same thing. I bought short metric lines from my local napa store and cut the fittings off, and used 6 foot lengths of 3/16" tubing to custom make my own lines. Double flaring the tubing was a B@#$H. Get the bet flaring tool you can get.
  6. Bruce. I think the wheels are made with the correct offset for the Z's. which means they are close to 0 offset. No spacers required. You might be able to check out Koning web site for specs on weight. They are nice looing wheels.
  7. Just a thoght. Why don't you run both senders? One to run the gauges, the other for the computer? thinking out loud.
  8. I have a set I'm no longer using. Along with the chevy motor and tranny mounts. I tried e-mailing you but it got sent back.
  9. here are my wheels. centerline corona. 17x7 front with 4 inch back space, 17x8 rear with 5 inch back space. 235x40x17 front. 25x40x17 rear
  10. Oh By the way Phantom. THAT IS A REALLY< REALLY clean install.
  11. You should check out Cenerline,http://www.centerlinewheels.com they have a "specials" section for over stock inventory. If none of those are to your liking , try the "Billet" 2 piece wheels. They are the ones that fit the Z's.
  12. Zbobo, Let's see if I can explain it, I posistion the strut bar assy vertically.on the floor with the part of it that mount's to the firewall on the floor and the part to stretch up, I then put my 3 ton floor jack between the top and bottom of the StB. A small length of 2x4 , about 12inch's long is now positioned on the lifting pad and you stretch apart the StB.about 2 inch's. It worked out good because the bar was too wide to begin ,the mounting holes were too far apart, and the stetching actually brought the mounting tabs closer together. And I still had to slot one of the holes to make it fit. It was NOT a bolt-in part. You still have to file and massage the part to get it in. I hope I didn't confuse you. But like everything on this car, Every part has been "persuaded" in.
  13. zbobo, I have the same strut tower brace. And it didn't fit , And you right Phantom , they do charge a restock fee .So I used a floor jack and a short piece of 2x4 to "persuade" the cross bar to go around the air cleaner. Fit's like a charm . Now the problem I'm having is the JTR hood latch bracketd don't fit . The top piece has to be modified. I'll shoot some more pix later. 8)
  14. You could have a bad or broken spark plug.
  15. So true Rebel. A V12 in that 8 series does make that car move. I was thinking along the line of an engine fire or a worn out drivetrain, to swap in an LS1. Man A BMW V12 rebuild would cost a small fortune. Just thinkin outloud.
  16. Sorry Guys. Just an Update. It was an 8 series car. You know the 2 door coupe with the sloping rear window That I saw.
  17. Thanks Tim and Scottie, That was what I was looking for . Thanx again
  18. Hi Chappy48. I was thinking the same thing this pass weekend, when I saw a 2 door 6 or 7 series drive by me , Man that is a very good looking car. Now you got me thinkin. : Phantom has a LS1 in his car. Johns Car's would be the first call I would make. Good luck,
  19. You could try Spin Tech Mufflers and or Flowmaster's web sitesm for the 3.5 inch tubing. I wish I could provde a hyper link , but I can't figure out how?http://www.flowmastermufflers.com.http://www.spintechmufflers.com I hope that works?
  20. I know there was a tread to a site tha sold GM connecters to make your own EFI wiring harness? Can you guys help with a couple of links?Thanx.
  21. I think P.A.W. has MOROSO extensions for there short pumps. I think they were only $29.00.
  22. You might try a temporary tube extension. Go to pep boys and buy a short piece of exhaust tubing that would fit on the outside diameter of the current tip. Just clamp it with an exhaust clamp. Just to see if it works. I would try the same length as it was before the new system was put in. I think you said it was 6 inch past the bumper? If it works then start cutting down the temporary extension an inch at a time, until the smell comes back. You may only need to extend it 1 inch to make a difference? I know it's a lot of trial and error, but that's the nature of the hybrids. Also I second 240Hybrids suggestions. There are alot of gromets in the back, under the carpet and in the passenger rear side interior panels to leak. Hope that helps. 8) 8) 8)
  23. Hi Bastadd525, I had a similar problem, and couldn't find the problem either. Then when I replaced the seals I had the rear hatch glass removed to replace the rubber, I could see through the window opening that the lower passenger corner part of the seal was not touching the hatch . The frame of the opening was ever so lightly lower, causing the new seal not to work. I had to pry it up gently with a hydrolic bottle jack, I hope I'm not confusing you? , The second thing could be that the new exaust tip maybe too short, and not extending far enough away from the lower valance. Try clamping an extension to se if that helps. good luck. 8)
  24. Love the pics . What Camera do you have?
