  1. Those are the stock fenders, not fender flares. Have a fun time cutting those out and putting them on a Z. Youll have a bit of a problem up front where the airdam/fender meet.
  2. Yeah its sad, Ive spent who knows how much and Ive never gotten to exceed 20 mph.
  3. Im guessing you have a mopar engine in your Z? The 318 seems pretty cheap and can be built up to a quick motor. Id be doing this next summer and am trying to find any info on the swap. What mopar transmissions will bolt up to the 84-88 La 318? Ive only found autos.
  4. My color Ford Dark Shadow Grey and Austin's (240hoke) Toyota Spectra Blue are my favorites.
  5. Anyone have an easy way of removing the tortion bars with the hood on? Im guessing it has to be when the hoods down. EDIT- I ended up tieing them together and cutting one. Once I had that out I muscled out the other one. I never realized how heavy my hood is.
  6. Heres a picture from the front. Letting the ryno lining dry..... The purpose of this is to control the airflow going into the radiator opening. Search around for my "Radiator Opening: How Big/Small' and Proxlamus' "After doing some reading... blocked off the radiator". Ill hopefully finish up mine tomorrow so Ill post some pictures in one of the threads.
  7. The only way this would be cool is if it ran a 10 flat. Then it would be reallllyyy cool.
  8. Well I used a combination of 2 right angle brackets and 2 wires. The wires loop aroung the inside of the grill (cant see them because they are actually inside the grill). All I need to do now is give it another spray of ryno lining.
  9. Whatayaknow, right after I post this I figure out a way.
  10. Well on my quest to block of my radiator area Ive made a piece of sheetmetal that fits behind the grill. It is shaped to go along with the grills curve. Im not sure how to attach it. Theres no where to bolt or screw it on and I cant weld it (painted), maybe a glue? Any ideas? Heres the pictures, hopefully you can see enought to have an idea what Im working with. Been working on this for last couple of days but havent come up with anything.
  11. Ebay members: FLAMIN' TIME!!! Actually the front doesnt look to bad. From the rear of the front fender back is a joke.
  12. Like mentioned before you need to seal off the area from the radiator support to the top of your grill. Then you have to seal all the of the other openings around the radiator. Key is to only have air going through the radiator.
  13. That would be cool! How many people actually know the 0-60 times for a Z or the lateralg's it can hold?
  14. Back in the early 80's how many aftermarket parts were available for the Z's? Any go fast goodies?
  15. Looks good. What ever happened on the vote if 1fastz's or Mull's build will be in the magazine?
  16. Personally I think you shouldnt get anything more than just an airdam. The 2+2's dont look good with the full body kit. ALOT of people say 2+2's dont look good but with certain modifications they look great. Look at BubbleGuinea's car, and all the others in the 2+2 owners thread. If you want I can make a CD of all my 2+2 pictures to send to you (250 pictures). First thing you can do is get rid of the bumpers!
  17. What are the rules for the racing youll be doing?
  18. http://www.geocities.com/z_design_studio/ Using this, with the stock 5 speed and 3.9 rear end your looking at around 150 MPH at ~5,800 RPM.
  19. Yeah I by no means believed him. I had to hold back from laughter when he was telling me and my dad. Thing that really made me laugh is that he couldnt tell me what he had done to the car, he obvously knew I wasnt just some stupid kid that would believe a cold air intake would make it that fast. The only thing he remembered was "custom aluminum halfshafts", which make the car faster...
  20. About your grandpa saying it would go 160, I talked to the manager at our local Les Schawbs and he said that he had a 280z back in the 80's with a fully built motor (na) that would do 150 mph. Im not sure what all he did to it but must have been expensive.
  21. I ordered to rear lower fenders a while back and they looked great, (dont remeber how long it took to ship) but they werent even close to the right shape. I had to pay to ship them back so I could get my refund.
  22. Usually... getting stabbed by anything isnt fun.
  23. I spent awhile trying to find a way to word it. Even your description was hard to understand. A way to think of it is a 3x.5 ft opening exposing the same area of the radiator compared to 3x.5 ft opening that opens to the entire radiator. At the bottom is a picture of what I have planned.
