About your grandpa saying it would go 160, I talked to the manager at our local Les Schawbs and he said that he had a 280z back in the 80's with a fully built motor (na) that would do 150 mph. Im not sure what all he did to it but must have been expensive.

I ordered to rear lower fenders a while back and they looked great, (dont remeber how long it took to ship) but they werent even close to the right shape. I had to pay to ship them back so I could get my refund.

I spent awhile trying to find a way to word it. Even your description was hard to understand. A way to think of it is a 3x.5 ft opening exposing the same area of the radiator compared to 3x.5 ft opening that opens to the entire radiator. At the bottom is a picture of what I have planned.

Do you think it makes a difference having the whole radiator open but only a 3x.5 ft opening letting air in compared to part of the radiator open and a 3x.5 ft opening? Hard to explain but hopefully you understand.

This is what I have so far. It will block everything off above the bottom of the headlight bucket (aka above the bumper). This weekend Im going to work on removing any brackets (turn signals, etc) from the radiator area to make room for it. Right now Im just making templates, when I get them all to where I think itll fit Im going to make it out of the pressboard wood and then stretch felt over it and make it out of fiberglass. Fiberglass will be new to me so any suggestions are welcome.

Buy it and work on it with your son. I go my car wen I was 11 and with all the work Ive put into it, when Its finally finished Im going to appreciate it ALOT. That means no speeding, or spinning the tires....

Are headlight buckets that have the original factory cover mounts worth anything?

Is that 250-270hp wheel or flywheel? Id like to see that motor, sounds nice.

So 200% throttle would actually be idle...

You didnt know about that mod?!? Stock a Z only opens the throttle halfway. Removing it will get you the rest of the throttle which equals power....

Any progress on this? Ive been loking at 318' and 360's lately and wonder what things would have to be done different compared to a conventional 350 sbc. Most of the links and pictures when I searched didnt work.

Id go and get a NA motor from a Zx. Go to Idaho Z car in Nampa, theyve got like a billion.

I just noticed this in some old photos. My car has a hole and tube in the inner fender that looks like it vents air. Not sure if Ill make it bigger but atleast they (datsun) knew what the problem was.

My Crf250r had the Unicam head which was a single cam with three lobes. The outsides activated the intake valves which were directly below it and the middle lobe lifted a rocker that split to activate the two intakes. I liked it because it was easy to adjust and if you buy a performance cam, its only one.

My grandpa used to have a small dropper of ecanesia and one of halbenaro extract(really hot!!) and they looked almost identical. Goes to the fridge to get the ecanesia to put drops in his eyes (helps eyes) and accidentaly grabs the halbenaro. Well you know the rest of the story. I had a similar experience to you but with my eyes.
