  1. First time I saw these they were $10. If I had the money to buy those Id have a hard time putting them on the car. Id probably make molds then put them in a case with other Datsun memorabilia. This is only If I had alot of money. I personally wouldnt pay the same amount for a knockoff compared to the real thing. Its like paying 600,000 for a slant6 'Cuda with a hemi. I looked at some of the 240z's on Barrett Jackson and one sold for $1300!!
  2. *cough* (look up) Yeah reach over and push the lighter and vrump.
  3. So with a setup like Daves and ~12psi you could be getting into mid/high 20's intown? Then possible low 30's on the highway?
  4. Id kinda like to do this. Have a master cut off in a place that no one would expect then have the push button start. But It would have to be bomb proof because I dont exactly want to loose my car. How about a secret battery cutoff in the cigarrete lighter?
  5. Austin, how can you afford a 350Z!?!? (arent you a student) In one of the recent Nissan sports they had stroked turbo VQ 350z's....
  6. http://spokane.craigslist.org/bar/525658471.html Wow I wish I had $1500. Take the motor and part the rest out.
  7. It probably took a while too. Did it distort the metal also?
  8. Just got home from school today almost got into an accident. Pulled out in front of a car (had no idea it was there) and almost hit it. I was lucky the car was a Subby or Id have a wrecked car. There is no way a Z or almost any other car would have been able to avoid me. Phew.
  9. I brought it in last night so Ill look to see if It made any progress.
  10. Be sure to spend alot of time cleaning the areas!!! Spend the time before rather then redoing it.
  11. Daniel what part of town do you live in? I love watching my friend drive his 5.0 through the snow. He says just letting out the clutch will spin the tires.
  12. Well I only put on one layer and it seems that the resin isnt hardening the fg cloth. The extra resin that was on the newspaper hardened but the fg isnt. Its been out in the cold, I dont think that would make a difference. Im going to go ahead and put on a few more layers to see if it works.
  13. Did insurance rule it totaled? It seems from the pictures that it might be salvagable given that it is your "dream car". Datsun40146- I doubt thats what he needs to hear right now...
  14. Yeah I dont see anything getto about metal adhesives. They are very strong and hold up great. With welding your only able to get one seam welded, you can get alot more adhesive on. People think of it as just "glue" but It really works. Thats why they call it JB"WELD".
  15. Sorry to hear that, I see it was a scarab. Anytime I get my friends in my car or people following me I have a habit of doing things I wouldnt normally do. Ive made some mistakes that have really cost me just cause I was screwing around. (not in the Z not done yet).
  16. I meant you should do that for where you drill out the spot welds. I welded up the bumper strut holes.
  17. Im guessing your talking about the rear? If so just go ahead like rturbo said and drill out the spot welds and pull it off. From there If you want to fill in the holes get a piece of sheet metal and glue it on from the backside using a good metal/panel adhesive or maybe Jb weld. Make sure each piece is cleaned good of any under coating. Then from the the outside you can scim it with some bondo and rattle can it to the color of your car. Or get alot of bondo and...
  18. None of thats for a 280z. Ive got a 78 280z 2+2.
  19. What did you use behind the vinyl? The stuff I have has a thin layer of soft white padding (not like the original stuff), Im afraid it might not be tough enough. Also since the original pieces werent sewn together did you just cut along the middle of the simulated threading? Do you have any pics?
  20. I was lucky to get my car done for $4000. That is everything, mounting doors, fenders, hatch, hood, redoing all the body work and fixing some fust issues. Also shaved the rear end and emblems. Turned out perfect. On the whole car Ive only found two very very small specs/runs. I was lucky. Also wet sanded the paint so there isnt any orange peal.
