  3. Steve, is there still enough room to get the ashtray back in there with your mod?
  4. Most likely was a user here that goes by ZZNOTOP. Very nice convertible that he did himself and as the name says - NO TOP. Next time you're in Durham or RTP put up a post here and maybe we can get a mini-meet going.
  5. Johnc, I have read that you can ruin the temper of a spring by heating it up too much when cutting. I want to cut my springs (reproduction Euro-spec) and am planning to use a cutoff wheel on my angle grinder. Will this heat up the springs too much? Do I need to clamp the spring in a bucket of water or would this be overkill?
  6. Beautiful day for some SVRA Vintage racing at Virginia Intl Raceway:

  17. The answer is c) All of the above. Since you are in Columbia SC you will most likely find Zs that are rusty from people parking them where the kudzu grows. If you are patient you can find one with minimal rust. If you don't want to wait start looking in AZ, CA and other dryer places. Have Fun!
  18. You can find the adapter for the oil filter and block on a turbo ZX with auto transmission. You might get the hoses from the same car but I don't think they will mate with the rx7 cooler. If you find the right ZX in the junkyard you can take the whole system. Truck hydraulic shop can make custom hoses.
  19. Hey Tdab, Sorry to be so harsh on your home town but I was just giving my honest opinion - I don't like it there at all. What high school did you go to? I went to Northwestern and escaped -er- graduated in 1978.
  20. Stay away from Rock Hill if at all possible. I lived there 30 yrs ago in high school and still have friends and family so I visit often. It is a fast-food, ignoramus-ridden, nothing-happening kind of place. If you can get a home on Lake Wylie with easy access to Charlotte it might be liveable, but the closest thing to culture there is the kitschy kountry krap you can buy at the counter at Cracker Barrel. If you like smoky bars full of ugly women and depression, be my guest. Oh yeah, you CAN'T BUY ALCOHOL ON SUNDAY IN SC so Saturday night at 12 things shut down. HEATHENS, I tells ya! And Rock Hill is considered civilized compared to the surrounding SC towns.
  21. Measure the voltage at the battery terminals with a real volt meter. If you have more than ~14.5 volts when you rev the engine to 2000 rpm then your voltage regulator is likely dead or not connected properly. I'm not sure if the 78 has internal or external voltage regulation.
  22. Properly attached, I don't see how they would be any more dangerous than, say, a rear wing. I think louvers look ugly but I like the way they keep the interior cooler and it would be interesting to see if they have an aerodynamic effect.
  23. N/A and turbo have different TPS so this could be the problem, or at least part of the problem. If you read the FSM you will see that those parts do not function the same.
