  1. why even bother with the half shafts?? just go to CV's. a little trimming and a custom seal and the CV's go right in.
  2. how the hell do you figure 14.5 volts????? i have never had a Z put out more than 12.9.
  3. FWIW the company i posted of above(TEC) use to do ALL of JWT turbos. i dont know if they still do, but i could try to find some more info on your turbo for you (if it is in fact a TEC unit).
  4. yeah i'd be afraid of turbonetics too. Turbo Engineering Corporation Golden, Colorado 303-271-3997 800-950-turbo orders only
  5. Jeff, sorry but i honestly do not know what the specs are on the turbo. (other than it is a hybrid) they wont tell me about it because they want it it to be a secret(i guess i have a big mouth). sounds weird i know but they take VERY good care of me service wise and the prices i get are incredible, so i dont mind being in the dark. the exhaust manifold was probed at the number 6 runner. Jeff, i am interested in what you are going do for a cluth. one of the reasons i went to an automatic was i could not find a clutch that would hold. and i promise to start typing slower i reach full boost at about 4500rpm(the eight is too close to the five) not 4800! Tim, as far as the cam goes i am on the stock cam now. i have a schnieder(sp?) sitting in the garage waiting for a home. but with the stocker it pretty much falls on its face after 6000rpm. and yeah your right find the correct gear and the right amount of clutch slippage and lag is all but history and if you dont mind me asking what stall speed are you going to?
  6. measurements were taken at the exhaust manifold, not downpipe. and i missed the "2". it should have read 25psi intake manifold and 25psi exhaust manifold giving 1:1 ratio. now i dont know what you consider "streetable". i dont hit full boost till about 4800rpm. but i dont mind, and turbo lag is very easy to overcome with a 5 speed. since i now have an automatic i will rely on nitrous to get me into boost. my stall will only get me 3500rpm and 5psi. boy do i miss shifting.
  7. i was told by the company that does my turbos that the presure should NOT exceed 1:1. if there is 20psi at the intake backpressure should never be more than 20psi and the right turbo will have NO backpressure. when i maxed out my turbo 3 upgrades ago we put a gauge in the exaust manifold. at 15psi at the intake the exhaust had more than 30 psi back pressure. now at 25psi intake, i have 5psi at the exhaust manifold. unless the turbo is not sized right you should not have more pressure in the exhaust manifold. shane
  8. http://www.mtco.com/~westcj/Brian/250vpgt5.xls here is what sleeper is talking about. the Walbro pump suffers a great deal above 50psi. Not suited for forced induction IMHO. shane
  9. just buy the Hallman http://www.machv.com/machv/halesbooscon.html
  10. your close but NO paxton pump, both pumps would be MSD. i was thinking that it would in a sense double the output. shane
  11. yeah when i fisrst got this swap done (like 6 years ago) i used the stock 240 return line. oops big time flood city
  12. courtesy nissan. try http://www.courtesyparts.com/ that is where i got mine.
  13. nathan, where did you get your rockers and for how much? shane
  14. AMEN TO THAT!!! well i guess you have explained why my pump is shot. and actually you have done me a favor as now i know for sure that i am done with it, thanks! shane
  15. ALL gas tanks have the pick up in the bottom, the only way it could gravity feed is if it were to sit on the ground. except for in tank pumps, every other fuel pump must "suck" the fuel up hill. i just dont understand why a company would make a fuel pump that cant do what it is designed for. so it would need a second pump to feed it, right? there is no way in hell it could be mounted below my sump. sorry evan, my disgust is not toward you. shane
  16. yes it is the "blue" pump. lift? i dont follow.
  17. well my wonderful paxton fuel pump left me on the side of the road yet again!! this has been on going since i bought the damn thing 4 years ago. i was warned that it was NOT a constant duty pump. so here is my idea, i have an MSD pump rated for 500 horsepower. i think i am going to buy another one and run them together. my sump has two outlets so they would both get enough fuel, then i could run the lines to a "Y" block and into my -10 feed line. this would all cost me less than half of what the paxton cost. well, am i carzy or will it work? shane
  18. ok, i had a hell of a squat problem when launching, i was on stock 240 struts and 280zx springs. i had to cut the hell out of my quarters to stop from tearing up the drag radials(275/50/15) so i installed non-adjustable tokico's and suspension technic(sp?) springs with a 1" drop. now the damn tires rub when i take a corner . will a sway bar cure this? the car does not have one (rear) and as far as i know the 240's did not come with one. if it will help then is there a kit? thanks, shane
  19. i would get about 10-11 MPG
  20. why not try the NX kit. they use a spray bar over the intercooler and it sprays nitrous to cool it. shane
  21. sounds like he is describing the oil slinger, which would go inside, between the pulley and the oil pump drive gear. shane
  22. the 2jz can handle OVER 800 HP on the stock internals. and yes it is one hell of an engine. shane
