  1. go to a pepboys or autoparts store n buy a cheap little fuel regulator has a dial and set it for 3.5 psi or 4psi n you should be good. I have a electric summit fuel pump pushing 72gph with a fuel regulator from pepboys set up at 4psi running 32/36 DVGs carbs
  2. make sure the glue says HIGH TEMPERATURE adhesive. Cause the heat inside the car in the summer months will make the glue not sticky anymore n will not bond and separate.
  3. o i finally got this car running after 3yrs. I got rid of the turbo motor. n Got a L28 with carbs that I bought from aziza z/matt
  4. Yes i have and they have power. I had this car running before with the same setup haven't mess with the harness since. but sold the motor and now i installed another one. I was messing with the spark plug n got a little shock but its not enough to even see it. So my only guess is that the distributor is bad broken stator n the bearings that hold it leveled fell out. I also picked up a used original E12-80 module from the junkyard and it still no spark.
  5. would a bad pickup coil n a broken stator cause the distributor not to spark?
  6. Yea I did..b to +coil. C to - coil ,bridge the ballast n black/white wire to +coil n black wire to -coil...am I suppose to add another wire to go just straight to the tachometer from the -coil
  7. OK guys I need some help I done this swap with the first engine i had in this car but sold it. I just purchase a L28 with carbs has a 280zx dizzy. N I bought a new 1980 280zx ignition module for the dizzy. I wired the dizzy as everyone else does it. B to positive side of coil. C to negetive side of coil.. n bridge the ballest. But I have no spark. Could it be the dizzy is not working? I checked to see if the coil was getting power n it is when on the on position. But is not giving any current to the dizzy for the spark.. any help I searched like crazy n no luck. Thanks in advance
  8. Hello I live in san bernardino just wanted to know if anyone was willing to trade there 240z engine for my L28et. I have not fired it up so i don't know the condition of it. Its from a 81zxt does not come with wiring harness. But for the right price I can sell you the megasquirt. Must be around the southern california area. I could'nt get the car running and don't have the money to get it to run have a morgage payment so that more important.

  10. I have been thinking of selling the 240z you guys may have seen my car progress coming along. Just wanted to know how much can I sell it for? I know with the current economic situation its going to be hard to sell it. The reason for trying to sell is that my dad is helping me get a house, with alot of foreclosure homes in the area we are trying to get a great deal. I would rather have a house of my own than having the 240z and wasting money on it. I have qualified for $104,000. there is a 4bedroom 2bath house with a pool and pretty big back yard for $89,900. that we are interested in.
  11. I upholstered my own 91 300zx seat for my 240z. that quote doesn't seem to high. Its a very time consuming job sewing all the parts. Materials ain't cheap eighter even though its plastic/vinyl ect. leather is more expensive and more harder to sew, hard to work with.
  12. If I can get the car running. I haven't been working on the car for a while since my parents got another house and I move out to the new house. I just brought the 240z to the new house this past weekend.
  13. Hey matt, I'm having the same problem I just called this guys in Huntington Beach,CA http://www.powertraindynamics.com/ they charge $125 1 hour. I'm going to take my car to them and have them wire the car and have it tuned. They work with megasquirt.

  15. is this how the 83 turbo dizzy should look like. I now this is a NA dizzy. Just making sure cause my oil shaft was facing the other way around more like 1:35.
  16. Im having problems trying figure out how to set the timing for the MS1 v3. I read the mobys sticky but I can't figure it out. Could you guys please help me out step by step using the timing gun, what it has to read ect. THis is a total stock engine setup. The engine has a stock 81 trigger wheel with the markings but using a 83 turbo dizzy. thanks

  20. ok the wire from the dizzy 12v and the 12v with the 1k resistor I plugged into the ignition harness so it will get constant 12+ even during cranking unless I turn it off. So now I have spark since the rpm gauge will go over 200 but less than 300. The injectors now are now getting fuel I just need get the timing correct to get this thing running.
  21. could it be that the switched 12v connecte to the radio 12v is cutting off when cranking?

I just went through my ecu to see if the setup im using is installed correctly and everything is OK. my megasquirt relay is connected 12+ to battery. relay ground to battery(-) and 12v switch is connected to the radio 12+ wire. I using another car to jump start the battery that I have on the Z. So I tried to crank the engine still constant spark. I used the timming light and sometimes it lights up but is rare when I stop cranking the engine the rpm gauge turns on lowest rpm is 60something.
  23. no rpm on megasquirt gauge only when I spin the dizzy by hand but not while crancking. Well today I had the timing done as moby sticky 50-60 degrees then installed the dizzy until led 18 lights up. I will try to start the engine tomorrow see if that works since the battery on the z is going dead. do I have to put those 8ohm resisors for the 280zxt injectors to work?
