  1. i dont see why it wouldnt fit. it looks like a perfect offset for the flares since they dont come out too far anyways. where you at in sacramento? what kind of rims are those? any side shots?
  2. well, on second thought, depends on the condition of the z. if your rails are all busted out and rust every where then maybe yes! reinforcement will be a good idea.
  3. no need for reinforcement when i had my lt1 t56 setup although it would be nice. it does flex and twist a bit on the low end but not enough to go outta control or maybe its just because i had open diff? reinforce frame rail is over kill for 300hp only. stock should be ok IMO.
  4. oh man...happen to me too but it wrinkle instead but only a tiny bit. i can live with mine since its on the door side inside the jam. fresh paint and heavy clear will do that. flash time is key. by the way. i was checking out your thread and good work on the other painted parts. looks real clean. if i went with a solid color, i would have been done but metalic is a PITA to spray and lay down evenly without tiger and cheeta marks.
  5. colder season is comming around soon so i have to work and spray fast. i havent even finish the hood yet and still have to respray both doors. for sure its gonna look sick from whats pictured in mind!
  6. im using a 3m respirator and saftety goggles that i gotta change every spray because of clearcoating my goggles at the same time im spraying. lol. because the basecoat and clear dries so fast, the smell doest last very long and only smells 4 an hour.

  8. i dont see too many z's with fender mirrors besides the shows also. i rarely see anyone around with fender mirrors on the street, how can it look the same as everyone else when everyone else doesnt wanna pay for fender mirrors? lol. that is new though, having the fender mirrors mounted in the regular...im looking for some fender mirrors at the moment! i can really put those to use...eheheh.

  11. im not sure what you mean by two component clear? its a 3 part mix clear is all i know. clear, reducer and hardner. 3-1-1. notice on the 2nd pic up, thers a cut off on the rear top window that shows a different shade of metallic due to the clear coat stop. thers no way to spray high speed clear without a perfect finish line. it bothers the hell out of me so i respray it this weekend. my first time fading paint. it actually came out nice and clean...i thought i had to redo the whole thing. after wet sandin and buffing, its not ven noticable its been resprayed. thought about doing a quick wright up and step by step on repraying/blending panel on the z since thers no stop line on the chasis of the z. but i didnt have the time to take pics becaue i was in a rush.
  12. your talking about the one on craigslist? that guy doesnt know what hes selling. if i recall his pic showed a older zx/z31 r200 longnose. he mentioned 300zxtt on his posting. false advertisement...all 300zxtt came with r230 and short nose. plus it has flanges on each side with 4 bolts like a zx r200. not even z31. assuming its the same one im talking about for sale in bay area ca.

  14. Ok, so i had friday off and decited to go head and paint the body. Ive been working on it back and forth and so glad its finally painted. It came out pretty good! It was about 90degree or so in the garage. I also wasted 1/2 qt of clearcoat since i didnt know how much i would need to cover the car(DAMN). Heres the pics inside the garage. slight tiger strip on roof but no too noticeable. heres a couple shots in te sunlight.

  16. the valve covers are down a bit under where the throttle body sits. it looks real close but i would have to test it out when i get the brackets. the ge will reach my hp goals and thats what i might be aiming for.
  17. is there a reason why i havent seen anyone running a ge na-t with stock intake manifold? clearance issue? ive seen someone on here with a mock up ge in his engine bay and also hear someone else said it wont clear the hood? has it been confirmed?
  18. 1 inch of spacer should give it a fair look. however, if you got 2.5inch worth of threads on the back and wanna make it equal, 1 1/2 or even 2inch should even things out. jack it up, unbolt wheels, move it out to see how far you wanna go, then figure it out from there.

    you wont be able to smog it period. its a jdm engine and not sold here in the states. meaning no smog equipment, egr etc...

  21. i think the polish center cap will look funny on the ccw's. how about black caps with polish writting? now that will look sick with that logo.

    alot of old folks are familiar with the american v8s no doubt. thats why his dad had no idea about the rb. im sure its almost everywhere not just here in ca and not everywhere else is v8s. some of the sickest imports are in texas and from all accross the states including ca. im going 2j single:) but older folks grinch and wow when they hear about my old lt1 swap..lol ? i can only smile...

    just get a carb 5.7 350 and make it easy. anyone can work with that. its been over done but what the hell, what do you know about a rb? do some homeowork and make it work, not pay someone to do it and scratch your head when it goes bad. plus you can have an rb with 500hp and the locals will be like, oh, and have a plain ass 350 and people will say WOW. .lol.
  24. i would do it but bodymans are under pay...plus im still working on mine. take your time and grind the crap out of the welds. buy some air tools.
  25. just clean it after every cup of paint and you shouldnt have any problem with the spray pattern. looks nice everytime after cleaning.
