  1. Most LPG appliances I have dealt with can easily be converted to natural gas. Usually it's just an orifice and pressure change. (ie: inexpensive)
  2. I've had a pair of rotors like that on a S130 I bought... folded them in half with my bare hands when I took them off.
  3. Just a good natured ribbing, don't take it to heart.
  4. Wow, hard to believe it's been that long... I think I say that every year...
  5. Please re-read the rules to this site. Basic spelling and grammar are required when posting here.
  6. The Ardbeg 10 was a bit pricey, $94 for 700ml up here. However, British Columbia has the most expensive alcohol prices in North America, so you might find it locally at a much lower price. For beginners, Johnny Walker Black label is a great suggestion, it's very reasonably priced, and a VERY good blended scotch. One of the best "bangs for the buck" out there. If you want to try a good single malt, look for Scapa 14, it's VERY reasonably priced and very good. Often described as a beginner scotch, it's an easy one to get started on because it doesn't have a strong smoke or peat flavour.
  7. Any details on the pulser? I keep telling myself I need to make a backflush rig at some point...
  8. Did you use an injector driver of some sort to backflush them, or simply hit them with a 12v source to open them up while pressurizing the tip?
  9. Picked up a bottle of Ardbeg 10 on Friday. Wow, just wow. If I could only ever have 1 scotch, this would be the one. Was going to pick up Tomintoul 14 but couldn't find any locally.
  10. A dollar now is worth more than a dollar 5 or 10 years from now. You're assuming some collector status will make these appreciate quickly.. I've seen enough of these carbs out there to know they aren't that rare, and I doubt very much that the appreciation you guys think you'll see will actually come to fruition. Also of note, while the economy sucks for many right now, it's not the same everywhere in the world. As this is an international website, he may get a higher price from outside the US.
  11. Personally, I'm not sure why you'd keep parts that don't support your end goals. I'm sure you could find a good home for them and use the cash on your project.
  12. As someone who works with a couple hundred mechanics on a daily basis... if they don't/can't give you a number, chances are they didn't measure. I can't count how many cases where I've measured something after it was passed in an inspection, and found it's actually a failure because the mechanic only eyeballed it.
  13. Well, whiskeyfest was downright awesome this past weekend. Got to try a number of very interesting (and expensive) scotches. I'd have to say the GEM of the johnny walker line is the gold label. I'll take it over green/blue/black anyday. (though for the price, black is a real value) Some other highly recommendeds: Lagavulin 16 Ardbeg Corryvreckan Glenfiddach 18 (I've said that before!) Glenfarclas 15 (I like it better than the 17) Tomintoul 14 (next bottle I'll buy, incredible) Old Pulteney 12
  14. Looks great guys! What size tires are on the 17" Rotas? And where did you track down more welting?
  15. A few days to go until the Victoria Whiskey Festival, and I thought "we've got a thread for everything else here, why not scotch?" So what are a few of your favorite scotches? Here are a few of mine in no particular order: 1) The Peat Monster: More smokey than peaty, but a whole lot of in your face flavour. The pleasant version of chewing on a campfire log. 2) Scapa 14: Light, fruity, smooth... I like it a lot, though I'm just getting "into" it a little bit. Strange smells of vanilla and honey... 3) Glenfiddach 18: Just a great all around scotch. It's common for a reason. 4) The Balvenie Doublewood: Smooth and fruity, not unlike Scapa 14 but with a bit more sherry cask goodness. (and lots of oak!) I'm sure I'll try a few dozen $500+ bottles at whiskey fest, but not sure I'll be able to remember them all.
  16. Yeah there is, it's called "hobbing".
