  1. M coupe... loved those cars since the first time I saw one.
  2. So, he got a parts car for the RTz? Excellent, maybe it will get done quicker then. Looking for an M E36 car myself, though not an M3...
  3. Wow, nice gift indeed! What are your driving impressions so far?
  4. My plan is to run 245/40R17 up front, and 255/40R17 in the rear. Trying to keep the diameter down at both ends.
  5. Get it done by June and we'll talk!
  6. We have a winner! First hybridz member to figure it out. You win... 23 seconds of ban immunity......... Well, time is up!
  7. It was raffled off when it was all said and done. I can't confirm who it went to, or whether that's it or not.
  8. Half the lever arm needs twice the force to get the same torque... even if you are stronger than average, you're probably not twice as strong.
  9. Given that the OP said "no high performance driving" I think they are probably best off with the 205/60R15 anyway... Wouldn't be my first choice (especially with that price on the michelins) but for it to look good, I think a 24.5-25.0" tire fits the Z wheel well best.
  10. I wasn't going to mention that, wouldn't want to make the Chebby guys feel inferior.
  11. Note, I said 225/50R15, not 205/50R15. I do however, run 205/50R15 on my car right now. Autocross tires.
  12. Take a cheap box end (full length) and grind down the profile so it fits... I'm convinced you can't get enough torque on them using a stubby. FWIW, I've used new factory hardware, nice and tight and never had issues. Solid diff mount too.
  13. For combined wet/dry street only, good all around tire: Yokohama ES100 in 225/50R15 available through the tirerack for $106ea. If you want something that really grips, and are going to autocross and only drive a few thousand miles a year on the street: Michelin Pilot 225/50R15 at tirerack for $125 (a steal!) Also, as per the rules you must have a location listed in your profile.
  14. If you can't afford to go to the track, you should sell your performance car and buy a camry. You can't afford a performance car, and you can't afford a speeding ticket. Autocross is less than $40 a day, a speeding ticket is $100+ to start... And think of the time you'll save by going to the track, rather than having your license suspended and your car confiscated for street racing. Then you'll be able to use that spare time riding a bus, or walking to work.
  15. Scottie's bang on guys... take it to the track.
  16. What size tires did you end up running?
  17. Then sell your stuff on Craigslist and ebay...? Do you honestly believe that hybridz is as financially solvent as those two multi-million dollar organizations?
  18. Check out the cylinder head cooling thread for some rationale behind #5 ring lands going first.
  19. Probably my most eagerly awaited built... you can't get this one done fast enough for me Ron, been dreaming about this one since Hybridz started!
  20. I'm not saying in every installation it can cost that much, but I've been down that road too many times. Putting in seats into cars with the oddest floorpan/stock mounting config. For one guy I had to lower sections of his floor to get the seat where he wanted it.
  21. Fred Puhn - How to make your car handle Carrol Smith - Tune to win, prepare to win, race to win, engineer to win, etc. How to hotrod and race your datsun is a great one too, though I believe it's out of print.
  22. Not sure why you guys say not to go inland, but inland California is one of the best spots on earth IMHO... you could spend weeks in Yosemite and never see the same thing twice, glacier point, tuolumne meadows, olmsted point... all must stops. Death Valley, Lake Tahoe... great stops. I don't recommend a convertible in death valley.
  23. PE (or P. Eng in Canada) doesn't automatically mean a pay jump, your mileage may vary. Depends on where you are at in your career just prior...
