  1. Seat installs can easily run $500-$1000 for a shop to do depending on the car, seat and how concerned the driver is with getting it just right. I actually refused to do seat installs in my shop because people were not willing to pay for the time it took to do it right, and I wasn't about to cut corners and take liability on for an inexpensive, substandard installation. Seats are part of the occupant crash protection system, don't cut corners.
  2. Given the mods you've made, the 70 series tires shouldn't cause "vague" handling. A bone stock restoration running stock tires has very direct steering feel, and actually feels quite good. Do you have the alignment specs after the alignment was completed? I would start by posting those. As mentioned above, a loose steering rack will cause a vague feel. Do you have any freeplay in the steering wheel at all? (ie: can you see the front wheels move with even minute amounts of steering input?) If there is no freeplay, I'd be looking at alignment much more closely.
  3. I followed a similar path. 55K when my ME degree was all said an done. Graduated in 2004, made the last payment in October 2009...
  4. Apparently someone had a sale on drillbits.
  5. This is my (And Jim Murray's) recommendations for starting points:
  6. Z=Zed... you are going to refer to your zed as a zed? Good for you! No idea what this "zee" thing is that you yanks keep talking about.
  7. Like the `72 Summit, and `87 Canada Cup, we'll still be talking about this one 20+ years from now... Not sure how you could script that one better from a Canadian perspective. Party night in Canada.
  8. Nothing is foolproof to sufficiently talented fools. And wow.... just wow...
  9. Is it white with a wrap of electrical tape around it?
  10. You guys work it out between yourselves.
  11. Donating members get a larger inbox.
  12. Yes, the software change dropped locations.
  13. Of course it won't. If you READ my post you'll see that I say it is "a step to protect the membership...". I'm not sure what some of you folks think the collective IQ of the administration staff is sometimes, but we're not as dumb as you think we are... (except RTz, he's all that and a bag of nuts)
  14. The rule is in place as a step to protect the membership against fraudulent sellers. If you have a suggestion on how this could be done better, by all means suggest away. We've talked a lot about this topic amongst the admin group, and probably beat it to death...
  15. What browser, what version? Can you cut and paste the exact error you see? The more info, the more likely it can be fixed.
  16. Actually it's faster for me. Might be some other factor. What browser are you using?
  17. Give it a bit of time while the details are sorted through, we'll get there.
  18. Scott, check out http://www.pelicanparts.com I've used them a lot for OEM BMW parts, and they are a great resource for the bimmers. I have no Porsche experience with them, but I would expect if they are consistent you'll be happy dealing with them as well. ie: Fabspeed Stainless Steel 944 Turbo Complete Catback system w/ muffler (3.0") - $795
  19. I can't think of anyone I know who I'd be LESS likely to give throttle control of my car to.
  20. $50 off? OK, might be time for me to bite. Edit: Refund not available outside of the US. Bummer.
  21. I've been looking at the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 closely, but haven't taken the plunge yet. What sizes did you run Zmanco? And what was the life of them?
  22. I got 4 years out of my last fuel hoses... thankfully the other hoses (oil lines, etc) have lasted longer than that. The rubber breaks down and ends up everywhere... not a pretty scenario.
  23. You are never going to get incredible dry grip with good light snow traction. Maybe my impression of incredible is different than yours, but if you aren't running DOT slicks or stickier, you aren't getting incredible traction in my books. Spoken for truth. Good rule of thumb for sure. I miss my A032's for their combination of DOT slick excellent dry traction, awesome wet weather performance (at full or nearly full tread depth), and reasonable wear characteristics... if anyone knows of something that meets or exceeds on all 3 points, I'm all ears.
