  1. Anybody here ever have rattle snake? I did. It tasted like chicken, maybe because it was fried. I didn't know what it was at the time. A realative of mine hunted them for a living. He would make belts and boots and other stuff out of them. He brought some snake meat to a reunion once. Came up to me and said, "hear try this..." Gator is good too. Jason
  2. He he he...I got a 74 Ford Maverick. It was my first car. Some of my friends kinda laughed at me for getting it. I fixed it up pretty cool. Dropped a V8 into it and they weren't laughing anymore...I was! Ha ha ha. Jason
  3. Ummm...why would anyone do that? Would performance suffer becasue of the extra long piping? Why would he want to hide it? If he is trying to street race people and say he doesn't have a turbo...wouldn't they ask, where does that pipe go , it just disappears under the engine...I would be following that pipe to see where it leads. Other than that, it does look kinda cool. Oh! wait, would it have anything to do with keeping the turbo cooler? Would this make up for the loss of power, do to the length of the pipes? I am still learning about turbos. Just my .02 Jason
  4. Wonder if someone could make one out of fiberglass? Make a mold and then sell them?
  5. Does anyone make them? I found some for the 300 ZX but have yet to find anyone who makes them for the 240Z. I think I have seen some on an older Z before... Maybe I over looked something? Thanks, Jason
  6. Do those people really think thats cool? Or, is that "Rice" to the people in Japan?
  7. Saving up for my turbo upgrade and Microtech computer. That equals = $$$ Jason
  8. "somebody asked me today what kind of car it is.. i said "1976 ford tempo" the guy just looked at me and said "i heard those are rare" all i did was say YUP and drove off. hehe" That is so funny! I might borrow that line. Ha ha.
  9. "i say there the best FWD import." Let's not forget about the 2nd gen Ford Probe GT. It can handle, has some power and has great sex appel. But, cost a bit more than a Cav. Just my .02 And yes, it's an import...many parts are made from Mazda...well most of the parts. Jason
  10. Posted: 04 Jun 2003 23:43 Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- one of my favorite shades of blue: R34 Skyline GTR bayside blue (TV2) Where can I get this color? I am trying to get a bodyshop guy to paint my car for some parts in trade (I pay for the paint). Thanks! Jason
  11. Max HP on MY L28ET = 0 I'll get it put back together someday. Jason
  12. Which engines and years did the P90 head come on? Thanks! Jason
  13. "You would not need a laptop to pull this off. A voice module kit such as linked below can be set up to play voices at the input of a switch. http://www.jameco.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prmenbr=91&prrfnbr=3237&cgrfnbr=501&ctgys= _________________" So then, with this voice module I can hook it to my cars 12v supply and then tap into the door switches and install others as needed for up to 16 different messages? Sweet! and for only $75! Hmmmmm....I think I am turning into a computer nerd. I think I'll try it. If it works out...I know I can sell it to all the Ricers around here. I'll make a fortune!
  14. Hey, where did you get that book at? Thanks, Jason
  15. Thanks for the input. I would like to get headers for my car. Just have to come up with about $600. I have found some intake spacer/insulaters for $70 I think. Cooler intake air...need to look into to this some more. Claims 5-8 HP.
  16. I saw their "400 performance module" and was wondering if it really gives you any more HP. I have a 94 Ford Probe GT. Jegs says they make one for that car. It says it modifies various sensor outputs up to 40 times a sec. It sends these modified signals to your computer and "incresses HP" They also warn you about the drop in mileage, and it has a switch to turn it off...so you can pass the smog test. Anyone ever use one of these? Is it about the same as changing to an aftermarket computer chip? It costs about $300. I was wanting to add a bit more zip to my daily driver...damn ricers are getting a little more faster around here...must be the extra stickers and bigger wings. Thanks, Jason
  17. "My 70 240 came in at 2485 with the small block chevy and 700r4. The motor has aluminum heads/intake/pulleys so that helps. Since then I have added a cage so I am sure it went up a bit." I played with the search and found this. A Chevy V8 Z car can be done for under 2700 lbs. But there are others that weight more. I guess it just depends if you want the extras like A/C and stuff.
  18. How much heavier is the Chevy V8? A Ford 302 with an alu. intake is 50 lbs. lighter than the stock L6. Even lighter if you went with aftermarket heads. Would the rest of the drivetrain weight add 500 lbs? Hmmmm... I guess its possible. A little here, a little there... 2700 still seems kinda high. But, I have not done a V8 swap. Maybe some guys that have can give us their weights.
  19. I pretty sure the 240Z will weight less than your 2700 lb guess. Stock, I believe they are around 2200 pounds. Haven't weighted my car yet. There are several upgrades out there to help the handling of the older Z car. ZF Racing makes some. Not sure on the cost. I would go the Z car route...but that is just my opinion. Good luck! Jason
  20. "Apparently they are hireing blind people to work in their shipping dept." Equal opportunity act... 8) now where did that wheel go?
  21. That last car looks almost just like my old parts car.
