  1. I actually called them and got a sample in the mail. I am thinking I can make a make-shift booth in my garage over a weekend and spray a few pieces with their cans....to start with. If that doesn't work then I will talk to a guy I konw that paints to see what he would charge me to spray other pieces if I provide the material......
  2. I have no a/c on the car so I will fab up something to go on the block as well. I have a 70 and my markings on the crank pulley are, and a little different than other years. I will definately go overkill so that I don't watch money and parts in my rearview mirror on the ground.
  3. It is sweet that you are in the state. I will eventually crossover to the Electromotive system and get the car stronger by doing so. I am currently going through the car and removing every weak link as they pop up. With the car beint 37 years old and most of the parts on the car are from the original install back in 1979 I am having things come up as I push the car more and more. I will be watching your progress as you finish up the system. I have been suspecting that I would have to use some P-car parts to make this work.........Thanks for the update...
  4. I just got a sample from Alsa. I like the soft touch paint and I am Seriously considering using it for my dash cap and center consolue......I am going to use some of it to paint some pieces in my Tundra first to see how it holds up to daily use first........there are some interior pieces that I want to change colors ( pieces that are black I want gray to match the rest of the interior...). I will post up how they come out........The search continues..

  9. I would like to hear from Paulo......to sort of "justify " his actions. Stuff like this makes me leary of purchaseing things form them. Although I or we do not know how many others had good parts not needing to be reworked of how many seamless transactions there were out there, if any. If he truely cares about doing business in this community then he should want to discuss this topic.....IMO
  10. where can you get the high heat RTV, I just discovered a leak where my wastgate is......very annoying when she burps a lot.....
  11. Would this be the same for a draw-thru carb'd setup? I am running .34 on mine. I am now running her up to 15lbs of boost. But will eventualy see up to 20lbs......
  12. I took her for a drive across town this morning and well she got a lettle tempremental. I noticed going to and from the Japanese Nostalgic Car get together that there were vibrations noticed at certian speeds. Couldn't figure it out.....Well I think it is the u-joints on the driveshaft or the rearend....that is TBD. However my issue with jerky-random misfires is back intermittenly. It is funny it only occurs when the car has been driven for a long period of time at highway speeds. When I return to stop and go traffic it goes away. I think that I either have some or one bad sparkplug wire, or my MSD box is going out. I mean these parts have only been on the car since..............1979....So I think it is time for me to pony up and change some stuff around. The car started acting up on me after I put it through som paces and got up to what the speedomoter read 125-130...I couldn't really tell it was bounceing around so much ( another item on my list). I am keeping this log to help me int he future as well as let others know about the issues I get along the way.....I did hunt down and kill a 350Z on the way home.......it had some nice shiny 20's and a windsheild banner on it. I took him by surprise you could say......all he keept saying was wow that is a nice car......put a smile on my face.....I will let you guys know what I do next. I am going to contact MSD and see if they will work on my relic of a ignition box or see what they suggest as a replacement. I would lit for them to work on mine so that I can keep it all period correct.
  13. If you paint it that will severely alter the way the light spreads out of the headlamp. If you are going to go through with it, paint the inside of the cover so that as time goes on it will not get chipped. And do the same thing if your are going ot tint it.

  16. I have tried with them many times and have gotten NOWHERE!!!! they have some nice wheels that I would consider but they refuse to send out blanks, or anything in our bolt pattern
  17. ITS' ALIVE.........when I woke this mornig I had all intentions of going to the dyno to check the A/F on the car an see what she could do. Well was I wrong in many ways. It turns out that after reading through all of the notes on my car from the previous owner ( THANKS JJ) that the timing needed to be at 16-20 degrees advanced. Well We looked at the timing and it was sitting at 9 degrees ADV. Well the shop that had adjusted everything on my car did what they thought was right. WRONG. The car spools faster and is a lot more responsive. I do not have any type of indication of TDC on my car like in pics that were sent to me. ( thanks Slow_Old_Car, he came through on the fly.) We figured where TDC was on the pulley and looked at the hash marks on the pulley and went from there. The car now sits at 14 degrees and can go a few more. I am seeing what it is going to be like tonight and go from there. Thanks John for Jeremy's phone #. I will now wait a bit then off to the dyno for final adjustment on the carb and we will see what she will be able to put down with 15lbs of boost......
  18. Unless you have changed your bolt pattern they don't make a wheel that fits our car. I ahve called them several times and they did not have anything that would fit the car....Now things might have changed......if so let me know they are a pretty good quality wheel in the medium price range. I know lots of guys that have run them on their IS 300's ( which is what I had for 7 years) If you want some sick wheels you can try DPE wheels, i Forged, or J Line as well.........they cost some big bucks but the quality is unbelieveable......

  20. I recieved the samples in the mail and well....lets just say that they are no where near a product that could be likened to suede. Although it is resiliant and looks good it is not what I am looking for. The material has more of a velvet/valoure feel to it. It is soft but the texture is not like suede. I know tha tI have seen this product before and I finally placed it.....it is more commonly used in ashtrays, or in compartments as a liner of sorts. so the search continues for a more suede product.......or just cover the dash in suede......

  22. Not it TX......They care but they don't care.......it is a fix it ticket.....10.00 to the county and show up in court with proof and the ticket is dismissed.....
  23. She said that the samples are done and that it is on its' way to me as of today. I am interested to see what the differance is betweent he texture of the eletrostacly applied material versus the sprayed on material....We will see later this week...
  24. well she hasn't sent the goods I will call her sometime today to figure out what is taking so long. I wanted it all done before the meet onthe 26th....but I guess I will have to be patient.....
