Has anyone started getting pop ups like crazy lately when visiting Hybrid Z? I have all the pop up blockers and stuff and i still get them. Its only when visiting THIS site.

When i had my IROC and was in the clubs, a couple of the guys who put thier meters that far from the throttle body were having problems with the engine running right. Did you run it yet?

I dont see the point of a seperate site either. HybridZ is the center of the universe for tech stuff pertaining 70-83 mostly, and some z31/z32/350z stuff. Why dont you contribute to THIS site and provide a collection of knowledge and a fiche. Believe me when i say using this site will get your information more traffic in one week than your own site will get in a year! Once you start compiling information, sooner or later everyone and their mother will point to HybridZ for all basic and advanced techincal discussions pertaining to the 280zx, like you dream of

You can do it with a 3 into 2 header with both pipes being 1 7/8" diameter. 2" is too big for 3 cylinders. You need to run the two 1 7/8" pipes side by side all the way back to the muffler, and have hangars made for each foot section of pipe and tack welded to the pipes themselves so they dont rattle against each other. I did that on my 79 for 2 years and it was really nice.

How funny you reply. I was just spending the day researching the motor. Im starting to think that the Y engines from Nissan were based on the Y block from Ford. Check this out and compare the ford y block pics with your engine. Dude a simple browse to their website and you will see you can use a plenum plate or individual filters for each throttle body. Beautiful setup, id like a manifold for my Expedition

Hey Georgia, dont feel bad. I think im going to hurry and finish this Ford 5.0 swap, make a few kits to get the ZX guys going on SBF swaps, and get out of the Z game for a while. Im becoming more interested in long distance 4x4'ing. Both are expensive hobbies. Unless you are rich, you have to pick one. Im lucky enough to be able to barely afford one.

Finally another one of these motors in the states! I have a Y40 with a custom bellhousing to run a datsun 4-5 speed. Y44Nissan, have you torn the engine down before? What parts did you use to rebuild everything if so? I believe you and i together can figure out what we need to build one of these motors up. The internals are similar if not identical to some domestic motors. So thats 2 confirmed Yxx motors in the states! It feels good to be unique, hehe.

My car used to do that and it was a fusible link. Those are something you should replace anyway.

Im still doing everything. I have the ford stuff sitting in front of my zx, ready to pull the zx motor out and fit it in. The whole car thing is on hold right now, its like 100* outside and i dont have any shade on the property to work on it. Everythings gonna have to wait until it cools down. Just another delay.

Hey guys, A while back my AWD Expedition got stuck in 4x4. I removed the front driveshaft and been driving it since. Im gonna go under the truck tonight and see if i can clean up the connections and sensors and see if it does anything. If all fails, im taking it to a 4x4 shop in the morning. Do any of you know of any shops that specialize in 4x4 especially on Fords in the LA or OC area? I dont want to take it to the dealer, been there done that, no positive results. 4 Wheel Parts doesnt work on transfer cases either. Id like to see if i can get it fixed soon so we can take the trailer to the race track and drive some of our cars. Thanks in advance!
