  1. Come on man, you are gonna have to do some research before you come here asking questions. So far you havent asked anything that hints you have any mechanical skills. A swap like a VG30DETT into a Z31 is going to require more than knowing how to change spark plugs. Start your research here: http://www.az-zbum.com/modification.engine.swap.shtml If you are hard pressed for more power, do a search for Steve Mitchell's 300zx. Actually, after i typed the last sentence i went on a search and found it for you. http://z31.com/misc/articles/5/1.shtml It sounds like you want to reinvent the wheel for no practical purpose whatsoever.
  2. Im doing a 280zx, its a completely different mount. Theres a member on here named Alsil who modifies first gen (70-78) crossmembers for a Ford 302 swap. http://zcar.netdojo.com/orderform.htm
  3. Its probably not going to make your car idle rough if you have that hose plugged up like it shows in the pic. Theres something else making it idle rough. That hose supplies the vacuum for the canister, which the distributor and fuel tank are hooked up to. Anyway, hook it up and see how it runs. PS, its about time you post I notice you joined back in 2006.
  4. Hey guys, Everything is great right now! I got all the cars mentioned above out of my hair, so now i can focus on the SBF swap into my 280zx. This week ill be trailering the Mustang to the house, ripping out the drivetrain, and sending the body to the junkyard. I figure in the next 2 weeks ill start removing the L28 and test fitting the 5.0 302. Sorry for the delay in between posts, my ladys father passed away, i had reoccuring problems with the blood clot in my leg, and the house where i work on my cars is being remodled (sort of). Huge mess over here, might as well do this before everything is clean
  5. Im pretty sure that goes to the canister on the passenger side radiator support/fender.
  6. Its true they rust out quicker. Just ask Pallnet about his friend Chris's header (evil inside).
  7. No, hatchback Z31's suck! 4 door sedan Z31's are much better!
  8. The car already has an electrical fuel pump and is already set up for fuel injection.
  9. Cool, if my son doesnt throw a fit , itll be fun. I dont know which day yet.
  10. Im a huge fan of the F14. Check out this video, right click save as http://fromtheflightdeck.com/VideoLIW/F-14-640.wmv I know there are some military buffs and mechanics in here, whats your favorite military aircraft? PS, for those in SoCal, im going to be at the Chino Planes of Fame this weekend. Anyone interested? http://planesoffame.com

  12. Easy outs are so cheap. I broke one on my Camaro back in the days, never used them again. Ive never seen anything good about easy outs. I tack welded an old 1/4 socket extension to the bolt and took it out with a socket wrench. If you try it, just try to keep the weld off the aluminum. I got some of the weld on the aluminum, but it didnt stick and fell right off when i turned the wrench.
  13. I remember the feeling, twice! Dont overdo your stay at the hospital, take a break to come home to take a shower and sleep. I pulled up at home one night coming home from the hospital and slept in my car for 6 hours because i was so tired. Pissed my lady off because she was waiting for me to come back
  14. Prox, im building a 90 Pathfinder with a v8. http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/index.php3?page=shop/flypage&product_id=427&category_id=6d671ddc4a20931bd740484254c1de5c&ps_session=c0efc2ba95bb579c31ab4e5e026d0791 You can also put in a Chevy 4.3 v6 with that kit, or a Buick V6 with this one http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/index.php3?page=shop/flypage&product_id=428&category_id=6d671ddc4a20931bd740484254c1de5c&ps_session=c0efc2ba95bb579c31ab4e5e026d0791 The reason for my project, is that my Pathfinder fully loaded with people and cargo, barely makes it over the pass to the high desert. Im sure the 4.3 v6 would get great mileage in the Pathfinder. The vg30 has never impressed me. I figure when im done, ill get decent mileage, have enough Torque to pull me over those rocks in the desert when i go camping, and pull a trailer with my Z on it once i do something about the suspension and brakes. Just a little of what im doing for a daily driver
  15. Wow nice cars! I didnt think highly of a car meet at 7am, but the cars changed my mind. See you at 7am next Saturday? What does everyone do after the meet, any cruises? Thanks for sharing!
  16. Excellent, i have the same seats only mine are all grey. Dont you love them?
  17. Is it similar to a slipping clutch having to rev the engine high, or is it like you are driving with your parking brake on? The same thing happened to my 89 IROC. I ended up replacing the 700r4 and the Tq convertor.
  18. Looking foward to pics, i have the same car
  19. Ill be waiting for that writeup, or anything you come up with on that s14 swap
  20. Your post is so general and is also gonna bring a lot of negative replies. The 4.3 is as easy as the V8, its just 2 cylinders shorter. IMO a 4.3 build isnt going to cost anymore than a V8 build. V8's are easier to find as well. Trust me on this, I have a 90 Pathfinder about to get the drivetrain out of a Blazer/Jimmy 4x4. It took me months to find a 4.3, i found tons of V8 stuff.
  21. I saw the pics on your site. We need more details on fitment. This is awesome!
  22. Pierre Z in Hawthorne did some of the restorations.
  23. Wait a second 260det, do you have pics of this thing? Im building a serious time attack car and im wanting to stray away from the stock suspension, might go with MM coilovers in the rear. Lets see what youve got.
