  1. I wouldnt rip apart that beautiful car for damage that seems to be located all in one spot. A front tube frame would be pretty nice if the original frame is damaged. The rest of the car must be beautiful.
  2. Thats more metal than i have under my fiberglass
  3. I dont think $20 a year will hurt, no matter your financial situation. Example: the JTR manual is far more than $20, and you get less info than browsing on here. You cant complain about free information. That line can end right there
  4. Yes i managed to waste yet another 10 minutes of my life. If you like Tom Waits, you will LOVE my 4 year olds Cookie Monster with low batteries.
  5. Just think no. Get a distributor with the 12-80 module from an n/a 280zx. http://datsunzgarage.com/engine/
  6. I see an ad for Nissan stuff, and aftermarket supplies and engines. Cool!
  7. You guys just have to wait a little bit for the ads to become content related. Pretty soon we will see automotive stuff up there relevant to the thread you are reading. For example, if you are reading a thread about aluminum radiators, there may be an ad for Fluidyne or Flex a Lite, etc. Just give it some time, you guys might end up liking them. All i can say is, its about time this site rolls in some dough.
  8. Is anyone here using Buick coilpacks? Please post pics if you have any. Im trying to figure out how many different coilpacks Buick came out with, and which one looks and works best for a distributorless setup.
  9. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/car/339548355.html $2,000 for ALL 3 cars! 1980 Toyota truck 1979 Opel 1900 1983 280zx dang!
  10. Guys, Im searching the net like mad trying to find a set of Yokohama AV-60i or AV-55i tires. I had a set of 215/60/15 AV-60i's a year or 2 ago, burned them on the track and canyons. Id like another set in anything 15" or 16", 60 or 55 series. If anyone can help me locate a set, id be very thankful!
  11. Wow thanks for the replies guys. Im hoping to get a nice amount for the Vette. Just for you guys, i cleaned up the engine bay and interior, and washed the car. I did as much as i could without taking things apart. It made a world of difference. I made 6 videos, and took a whole lot of pictures today. Let me know what you think. start up and rev http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8qO4j8boZ4 test drive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3jUu4V-5yc returning from test drive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4bYohkyasg Acceleration Test http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2Xc03H7jUs Lighting Test http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Tlb8vJ3OXc Radio Test http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roZB3UgNx-0
  12. God, i would love to have a single plane crank with individual throttle bodies on my 302. I see a new generation of Hybrid Z's around the corner
  13. Does anyone know where the fuse block is in this vette? I swear, worst engineering ever.
  14. Its been done YEARS ago by Greg Dupree of Specialty Z. http://www.specialtyz.com/aboutus.htm Street driven for many years.
  15. No, thats not true or you arent addressing the question he asked. YES. The compression ratio is FINE. The only thing holding him back is the design of the piston, the N/A pistons may be weaker where the rings sit. Other than that, the setup is fine for 6-7 psi which is STOCK. Do you guys even read these posts before you reply? lol.
  16. If you know who bigjim is (you probably dont), he put a turbo on an n/a and boosted up to 10psi and had no problems. Im sure others have done the same and they will reply soon.
  17. One thing id like to mention is that i see a lot of dry sump oil systems on those expensive high rev engines. Maybe thats something you will consider if you build one. Itll cut down on the power lost by dipping down into the oil at high engine speeds.
  18. I had a plan to build an 8:1 turbo motor using the same setup you are considering. Discussing it with several experts didnt present any problems with the setup. I believe a lot of turbo cars from the manufacturer use 8:1 engines. Some of the later Mistubishi Evos are using 8.8:1 engines with 19 pounds of boost, so i wouldnt see any problem with an 8.5:1 engine getting 6-7 psi.
  19. srgunz, did you ever spend time at George AFB in Victorville, CA?
  20. 280zforce and i went out to Chino Hills for the Planes of Fame airshow this last weekend. There were lots of WWII and Vietman era aircraft there! Ligting was horrible, but whatever. Heres a couple.
  21. You could always destroke a SBC 350 to 327 and put forged high compression pistons it it with forged rods and crank. Get a high lift and long duration cam and top the engine off with individual throttle bodies Damn it sounds easy, doesnt it? http://www.twminduction.com/v8_kits/chevy.html
  22. Damn nice work Miami! May i suggest reading this thread http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=117607 and taking note the design of the runners inside a plenum.
  23. Hey guys, How much should i sell my vette for? Its a '75 with '82 front and rear body. The motor is stock and runs really smooth and quiet. The previous owner (dead), took off the interior door panels and know i have the passenger side, i swear i saw the drivers side yesterday. We also have the original hubcaps. Im about to post it for sale, should i use craigslist or ebay? Ill get better pics for the sale, i just want opinions now. Excuse the mess at the house, its not mine and all the crap being cleaned belonged to the dead guy.
  24. Heres something that might help him. Id like to add the best combo ive ever built. Really easy to build. F54 block with flat top pistons P90a head shaved .08 with .08 shims under the cam towers Stock intake and stock exhaust manifold It was a good combo for pump gas, when gas was affordable a couple of years ago. I found the specs for that engine on some geocities webpage of a guy named Brian.
