I dont see a problem with sharing the truth. As long as people dont substitute fact with their own opinion, this thread should be ok. The fact is not much is being done to help these people, no matter what agency/political party is running the show I live in California. Id like to think the nation will care about my family and all my neighbors when we have a major earthquake.

The less glamourous parts of New Orleans are still ignored. I met some of the nicest people while walking through the 9th ward. There was a man weed wacking around a house who put down his tools and walked out to the front yard to talk to me when i walked by. He was telling me he wasnt in the area when the hurricane hit, and the house was his mothers and fathers before they died years ago. He doesnt have the money to repair it, but he cant let it go. Its like this throughout the entire 9th ward and other places throughout the south that suffered damage from the hurricane. No matter what you hear or read through the media, these people arent being helped. I spent over 2 hours on the street corner talking to this man named Mike. This was in a heavy black neighborhood right outside the French Quarter. So many people in America stereotype these people, but nobody hassled me even though i had a couple of grand of photo equipment hanging on my body. These people are people just like you and i alike. So many horrible stories down in the south, but such great people. Sad truth, but reality.

Hey John, what size hose do you recommend for air tools? I have this huge compressor (i cant remember the specifics), and i find it funny that it wont power my air tools. Its not that it runs out of air, it seems as if its not providing enough air. Maybe the hose i am using is too small for air tools?

I know you sent me the link so i can comment, but i dont know much about air compressors. Im looking foward to experienced replies

Well, the v8 comment was removed by I because its a typical comment anyone would share with someone having a hard time getting a plan together. I dont see why you need to bring it up. Lets just calm down here. What i am trying to say, is that it looks like you are attempting to rustle together all the parts needed for the build before you start. Its a lot more simple to buy the engine and transmission first, get them mounted and aligned, then collect parts as you move on to other aspects of the build. I personally know several guys who have done the swap, and the 2 men who have completed several of them in SoCal. Its a handful, and if you arent able to plan first and take small steps, its gonna bite you in the butt.

If you cant compute what parts you will need and the cost, etc etc etc before you start an sr20 or RB project, you probably shouldnt be attempting it.

Thanks for the motivation and kind words everyone. The pros dont like my stuff. Most of them are what i call "pixel peepers", who are more focused on what equipment they own than turning out cool images.

Actually i havent seen the engine in quite a while after busting my butt for parts i couldnt find. I didnt want to take a chance and take the whole engine apart just to get stuck. Its sitting downstairs in the garage. Also, hi Yeah, ill get to that after i finish a TT swap in my ladys z32, and my z32 n/a build. I have a list of priorities that im slowly following.

Long time no post. I have a Datsun Y40 V8 mated to a Datsun 5 speed with the front half automatic transmission bellhousing, and the rear half of a 5 speed aluminum welded together. Information on these engines is very scarce. Everything is a direct bolt in with the correct mounts. You guys in the states wont find any of these motors, and if you do, you are very lucky. I got lucky. Terry, I have an article that talks about the Paul Newmann Twin Turbo 280zx based on the Y series V8. Ill scan it again and post it.
