  1. I currently used the painless wiring kit to work my main harness and used shevythunders standalone harness for the LS1
  2. hngggggg... that dash is pretty! Would love a dash/center console in carbon!
  3. So far they look awesome! They don't have a sharp line where the cutoff is, but they do produce a clean area of light. The halo on the other hand is bright as hell compared to what I was expecting. Overall really happy about this purchase.
  4. https://imgur.com/a/FkBeM latest update to my Z! One of my buddies has a awesome Jeep and recently purchased these and they are awesome! Complete sealed 40w Cree LED projectors with halo. These are the exact ones I purchased. They are a chinese knock off of the original design that sells for 500+ However many people have purchased the knock offs and have so far stated no issues and reviews are showing them being just as good as the originals. But these are knock offs... so only time will tell if they were a worth while purchase. I have not had a time to see what they look like at night but will find out today. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CCKZRBM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  5. Holy crap I love that front air dam!!! where the hell did you get it ?
  6. I offically have AC using the Vintage air system!!! Just did a vacuum pull and then filled her up! Feels awesome to finally have AC in texas now!
  7. I would say about sat/sun worth of cutting and welding. Friday was used to find fitment but these just don't feel like they have good fitment... I would say the the shape of them versus the body doesn't seem right?
  8. Yea, I went with rivets for now, however I'm not really liking these flares that much. https://i.imgur.com/1rlgmZD.jpg The lack of flanges that meet the body or the lip for the tires seems like crap. Not to mention that they were not labeled at all so no clue if I have the rears or fronts on correctly or not. At some point once I'm ready to tackle the main body/paint, I plan to swapped the flares to something different. Maybe carbon fiber? assuming they have the lip and flange for the body. However my next chunk of money goes to fender mirrors and cam/heads for the engine. Loving these rims and tires!
  9. damn 20 bucks per roll of welting! Seems a lot of you guys are going rivets? Might pick up a rivet gun and some steel ones at lowes.
  10. Yea trying to figure out how I want to attach them... rivets? weld on some nuts behind the fenders and use allen button heads? Also should I use welting? and which type? would lowes or any place like that carry any form of welting?
  11. https://imgur.com/a/R7Cdd updated with flare mockup!
  12. I ended up going with JPNGarage's ZG flares. So far they look pretty decent. Tho they will need some basic work to get them pretty. They are just white gel coated fiberglass.
  13. Diff has been holding up to a stock LS1 with no problems now! Completely happy about how well it has turned out. Drained and put in motul and no shavings or metal particles coming out. Still has no slop so I think this is going to hold up pretty well. Now once I start adding power, that might be a different story... I hope it'll hold up till around 450. In other news finally ordered my rims and tires and flares. https://imgur.com/a/hXb5t Flares and tires should arrive today! It is sad tho... I could not find any 275/40r17 rubber anywhere in stock in dfw. I pretty much had to order it online. I need to fill my welding tank back up and hopefully soon I can get these flares on!!
  14. I was able to get a nice burn out before the rain really hit, but ya so far no issues. I am using ron tylers mount with a urethane bushing. In the next month or so I plan to take the diff down and do an inspection and see how it's holding up. I also have a new bottle of Motul 300 gear oil for it.
  15. Urethane mustache mounts shortened on one side fixed the issue. No more noise and plenty of space for the new axles.
  16. Hmm didn't think they made button head caps that big? Might have to look into that as well! First need to pull one out and find out it's size and see if I can order 6 of them for that side.
  17. True and already just ordered a set a urethane bushings for it. We'll see if that fixes my issues, if not then I'll have to figure something else out.
  18. I do have stock rubber there... so that might be a good suggestion to swap to urethane and cut the top off some. Hmm might do that this weekend then.
  19. NewZed when you say shave it... are you talking about the mustache bushing? or the front mount?
  20. True, might have to invest in some aftermarket a-arms or stiffer springs... I did grind a little bit of it off and that has drastically reduced the noise however it is still present under hard loads. But this is clearly the issue and diff is working fine.
  21. I'm just not sure I like the idea of grinding down the outter edge of my bolts... or if I should grind down the top ledge of the A-Arm so that it won't impact...
  22. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5vaZRz_Bn4 It explains the noise of what I'm seeing.
  23. OMG this is some stupid shit. You guy's won't even guess what the problem is.. and I found it. I will be uploading a video so you can see and giggle about it. So jacked up the car and double checked all my bolts tightness and to see if something was loose. Nothing could be found out of wack. Tested rolling each side of the wheel to make sure no excessive wiggle or play or noise. None! checked to make sure driveshaft operates both wheels at same time and it does... so jacked up the driver side rear wheel to see the axle at normal rest... and that's when I found it.. The inner stub is bolted to a 930cv housing using huge allen bolts. Datsun uses the same A arm for both sides just flipped. One side has a plate that is higher raised than the other side... Can you guess what side the main backing plate is on the driver side? it's at the top which happens to impact the allen bolts. The driver side allen bolts are tapping the a arm and leaving a worn down outter edge. Since I replaced my springs with Vogtland springs I still get some squat on hard takeoffs. The bigger the squat... the more those bolts hit and sound like a grind. I either need to grind the bolts down... or grind the A-arm in that area so the bolts don't hit.
